    I had a similar issue, turns out it was a rubber grommet inside the AF screw that was missing that threw off the mixture.

    I’ve bought many Chinese carbs mostly for snowblowers through Amazon and have had good and bad. I’d say it’s about 90% success rate for my application. Kudos to you on just making it work and for the informative video. Ive just been sending mine back to get another.

    how to install one of these and still have access to the air furl high speed mixture screw for tuning WITHOUT having to take it off of loosen and rotate it? any ideas?

    11:38 could the 3 smaller holes on the 2 bad carb bodies be drilled out to match the same size diameter holes of the 2 good carbs....Then get 2 new mushroom type pilot jets & test if they now all 4 run the same.

    • @agkracing140

      Yes, it is possible to drill those out to match.

    I have a new icebear champion 125. Could not get it to run right. About to give up and I decided to remove gas lines from carb. When I select petcock to on. I didn't get any gas flow. It only on reserve let gas flow. Bike runs good now that it gets good gas flow.

    Maybe this is too basic for you, but I think it warrants being mentioned for noobies. The float height is pretty important and can be a big factor. To the people unfamiliar think of your jet as a straw and the higher or lower that fuel level is requires less or more vacuum to pull fuel up it.

    Any idea where I can buy a better spacer (black plastic piece between intake and carb) ? Mine snapped in 2 and if I don’t use it I touch the engine cooling fins.

    • @agkracing140
      @agkracing140  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My Vader was running like garbage the other day and I discovered my black spacer was cracked causing a vacuum leak. I'll be on the hunt for a better spacer as well.

    try loosening the float bowl drain screw backed off a bit so that it isn't seated all the way. Open it, then turn it just until the drip stops.

    I have a question so yesterday I upgraded my carburetor to a new one and now it doesn’t stop reving high

    • @agkracing140
      @agkracing140  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Make sure the choke is off. With the choke lever all the way down it will be off. Choke lever in the up position is on. If the idle is still high you may have a vacuum leak. This is assuming you've already tried adjusting the idle screw.

      Could also be your putting the piston slide in backwards. It has to seat all the way down the cylinder.

    Update: We've been running two of the bikes a lot the last few days. Both seem to like the main jet drilled to .039" which would be about a #100 main jet. The #105 main jet was a little too big for both and a stock #95 main jet was too small. The $70 eBay exhaust I'm running on my bike still has the baffle in the silencer. We're using pod filters.

    • @roxannevila2049
      @roxannevila2049 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      ok to be clear. Pretty sure I have the same jets from amazon. So which sizes did you drill(what was the engraved size)l? Also did you drill both or just main jet? And if both...did you drill the pilot with .039?

    I'm having a bog issue with my boom Vader 125 aftermarket VM22. Starts perfect idle's great! Top end sounds amazing but quarter throttle it'll bog and want to die. Does anyone have a link to good pilot jets for the knockoff VM22 carbs? I have main jets but I definitely want to try new pilots

    they aren't identical bikes. one has exhaust and the other one doesn't.
    are you positive the intake Inside Diameter is the same? Oh, and make sure the gas tank gas tank vent line isn't kinked.

      The good running bike had a cat delete and modified stock muffler so it flowed much better than stock. The bad running bike had the typical $70 exhaust system from eBay so it flowed better than stock as well. We knew we had a carb issue when we swapped the carbs because the bad running bike ran good and the good running bike ran bad. At that point we could eliminate other potential issues and focus on the carbs. As you can see in the video the carb that didn't work well on either bike had several differences compared to the carb that worked well on both bikes. Once we made the changes to the bad carb so it more closely matched the good carb, our problem was solved. We have several miles on these bikes now both at the track and around town and they are running great. Since this video we've tuned a few other carbs for Vader's and we're finding the same thing, not all of the Chinese VM22's are the same. We appreciate your input. These bikes have been fun to tinker with and even more fun to ride. If you're near Santa Barbara you should come ride with us, our Vader group is growing!

      We are not sure how to get the VM22 that works best. There are soooo many sellers and in the short time since posting this video we've seen other versions of the VM22 brought to us by customers. So far they are all working great when brought to these specs we shared in the video.

      @@agkracing140 The one I bought is identical to the one on the left, that works great. I thought the pilot was too big because it was bogging at 1/4 throttle but just past that it was fine. I had the needle in the middle and a 105 main though. After watching your video I will change to a 100 main and raise the needle to second from last slot. See how that works. I am running open pipe, but I'm going to put a Db killer in for more torque. Thanks for the information, it helped a lot! I almost gave up for a more expensive Mikuni original.
