There are better AT for heavy enemies. But for medium enemies it’s a real treat with plenty of ammo to clear out medium weight enemies and ESPECIALLY one shotting those annoying illuminate overseers
Agreed honestly with good positioning it's like a fun spear and if you start treating the ammo like the spear the wasp really isn't that bad. And the 500kg covers for it.
It does feel a bit counterintuitive, since one would expect a big rocket to bunch through armor, and the small rockets to be greater at killing multiple enemies! Though eitherway, it is amazing!
It can be used in the car. Just make sure you aren't aiming toward the machine gun when you fire... it will kill everyone in the car. Don't ask how I know. Edit: spelling mistakes were bugging me
One more thing tho, you could rack up the weapon’s effectiveness by switching to the arty on the last round, it’ll still do the same thing as a full mag
That part got me wondering if burst is better for close range rather than far, those things are kinda lightly armoured so I can see it working, but also normally you're below them so half the shots miss, they're on a cliff here, maybe I need to test it a bit more

Seems to have low ammo, hard to hit things if there are things in the way (city and jungle maps a pain), and doesnt consistently kill things with the same amount of ammo because it doesnt hit the same spot with every shot..
I very much feel the random angle of leaving the barrel paired with being a lock on that picks where it hits does more harm than good. I've been killed by someone using it near me and the rocket flying out the side and hitting me which is another downside, recoilless the only thing is don't stand behind, plus recoilless kills more heavies in it's full ammo capacity. Seems like a medium enemy killer, in which case it might be good with alternative means to kill heavies but using backpack means you can't termite spam with it too so that's out of the question at least, might be alright if it wasn't a backpack gun
The wasp drains your ammo real quick and for resupply yes you can get your full ammo capacity but it can be mainly use on heavy and crowd control but taking down multiple base can drain your ammo quick
Some misunderstandings with this weapon. It’s a medium armor killer, NOT a heavy armor killer. As in you Can destroy heavily armored targets, but it’s not as effective.
There a bug going on though that sometimes it won’t target lock an enemy, so you can’t fire at all. Totally ruined a mission for me when the big enemy showed up.
So you know Burst has heavy armor penetration, so better against larger enemies. Artillery mode has low armor penetration but larger blast radius so better at smaller enemies and groups. The better you're informed the better helldiver you are 🫡

Me who played killzone 3 That thing was abusive on anything that wasn’t the walker. Just an entire troops and vehicles obliterated with medium level rocket spam.
This thing can't do jack against fabricators from range. It locks on to them better than the Spear does, that's for sure. But I dumped like 3 mags into a fabricator from a hill and it didn't do so much as tickle it. Also, since the small rockets scatter, killing Hulks takes 2 mags unless you shoot hulks from the back so the majority of the rockets connect with the cooling vents or if by RNGesus they all hit the Hulk in the face. However, this thing is a wet dream for clearing out bot patrols. The artillery mode makes sure the small bots that can call dropships are shredded and the burst mode takes a single rocket to dispatch any devastator, berserker or rocket strider.
Did my own testing with it, where this shines the most is bugs and squids, with bots it can be usefull but you'll end up using more ammo than you should
Artillery mode either needs to cover a larger area or just downright increase the damage. Been using it against bots and it barely kills anything. Thought it would be great against a horde of shield devastators but it's so weak.
They don’t go down it’s good for medium units, but I still take 110 rocket pods because I still get chased by chargers and titans. I have killed a charger in one burst when all rockets hit the butt sac once and it never happened again, so maybe distance and angle matter idk.
I stay strong as a quasar cannon user just cause its 1 shot if you know where to hit, but mostly cause it has unlimited uses. Though WASP still go hard in the right hands.
It is a nice promotion video, all most in style of SE announcement. This Wasp is much weaker than RR, but much more versatile. Personally for me, if it can not destroy Hulk in 1 salvo, and it's hit probability based more on luck than skill, than it is not qualified for proper combat (at least against Bots).
I don't see the point in it's artillery function. I would have been happy with just the multi rocket barrage. I have noticed most of the launchers have been given the programmable ammo thing when they don't really need it. It's cool for the EAT but the Airburst just seems odd. It's secondary function just seems to do what it already did and clear hordes. I could be using it wrong but what is the point of it as it just seems to be a similar flavour of horde clearing.
I just used this 15 minutes ago and it was not accurate whatsoever. This video shows it being on target in every clip. What I just experienced was the opposite. when using it against illuminate i dont see the advantage of using artillery since burst 1 shots infantry and even is good with aoe and 2 mags a harvester. artillery also need 2 mags for harvester which makes the mode kinda pointless when it dumps the entire mag with every shot. does artillery damage scale with the shots left in the mag?
Artillery mode seems to be useless, it does less damage than 7 individual shots to heavy targets and AoE is not big enough to waste so much ammo on chaff.
Absolutely not, artillery is an aoe attack for clearing out clumps of medium enemies like spewers, while burst is used for singular medium enemies. Neither are good at taking out high armored targets
I've got a feeling they're gonna nerf this weapons damage. One micro rocket is enough to kill most targets that aren't heavy and magazine is enough to kill a heavy.
No, WASP is better against medium enemies (devastators for example), it struggles against super heavy enemies like Bile Titan and factory strider. Airburst is excellent against light to medium enemies, but utter garbage against super heavy enemies, I haven't tested it against Chargers or Tanks yet.
@etuanno well I haven't tested it at all yet, and all my "knowledge" about it is what I see in videos/on main discord discussions... Although we both can agree it does seem like better SPEAR overall tho. (I can agree with Airburst part - though, it's such a shame it can't deal A4 like AC or HMG...)
The artillery is not a penetrating rocket, it's literally airburst and barely damages large enemies.

Should work like a charm on open terrain against pretty much all enemy types. If it oneshots bile spewers and scout striders its GOAT.

Against both overseers is amazing, it 1 shots them all the time

airburst on general patrols, bug breaches and bot drops feels good. I think pairing it with a EM sentry would be ideal.
