Awesome video! Even remembered the window switches haha. Worth noting: - If you aren't in North America, this car also came in a 1.8L (and rarer 2.0) diesel for the Euro market, as well as a 1.4, 1.5, and 1.6 gas, but to my knowledge these were sold mostly in japan. - The 2.3's have issues UNLESS they have been well maintained (mine is gonna hit 300k miles :P), the problem is that most 3-or-more owner cars have lost their service history. - Motor mounts go out faster on manual transmissions in this chassis due to engine braking, but the manuals are way more reliable overall.
I enjoyed this video. I have run into the issue of the water outlet pump and I was able to find many videos on it so it is definitely a tough one to get done unless you’re able to find a video. As well I’ve been having evap codes come up. Only for 1 evap where it is my solenoid
@@ColtonRichter haha yeah I will say though it is easier to fix than you realize. You just have to remove everything on the right side and you have tons of room

Thanks for mentioning the O2 Sensors! My 08' Kintaro has eaten both Sensors (Upper and Lower bank) after hitting 100k and 103k Kilometers. My old 04' Limo ate both at 100k and the lower one at 210k. Also don't cheap out on getting new sensors, Denso or Bosch ones live for another 100k before your Mazda gets hungry again lmao
@@bonishabrown5260 I ordered them from my local Mazda Dealership, that's what I would recommend or go to a car parts store with your VIN and wish to order sensors from the brand Denso, NGK or Bosch. Depending on your engine prices might vary, I have a 2.0L and for upper O2 I have to put down almost 400€ , the sensors for the 1.6L are cheaper
You mentioned about the O2 sensors going bad at around 160K. Just curious, did it ever sey a CEL fot most cases or no? I feel my fuel mileage just sucks and wonder if swapping O2 sensors would help it but I have no CEL.
Yeah my CEL came on for my O2's Your bad fuel mileage could be anything down to driving habits, or just dirty throttle body / MAF / airfilters & spark plugs.
Hey Colton, I've been watching your videos since I was dreaming of my first mazda 3. It's been a couple years owning a 2007 sedan but now I'm considering getting a 2015 hatchback version... What would you recommend?
Great cars, really underrated! I think things to look out for go relatively the same, I feel like the owner should be able to provide lots of service history since they are newer. Engines are great!
I have an 05 mazda 3 GT, would the 07-09 GT front bumper fit on my car? I always hated the look of the fog lights on mine. The 04-06 front bumpers without the fog lights look too flat and has no dimension.
Should fit seemlessly, just watch out for the upper grille, Limos have the upper grille screwed into the bumper whereas the hatches have theirs attached in the hood. Also some Facelift bumpers have headlight cleaning nozzle holes, if you do not have those built in, get some bondo and patch them up so you dont stay with two rectangular holes in your bumper!
@@jasonl7081 so the years before 07 are pre face lift? the ones with the the circular fog lights, and the smaller "vents" on the sides of the front bumper? I'm pretty sure the post facelift bumpers have either fog lights or no fog lights, but you can remove the vent pieces where the fog light goes to attach one, correct?
@@bleckdepths I did not know about the headlight nozzles. I plan on debadging the car but will need some bondo as well to cover up the holes for the badge pins
@@tsura- Yeah its something that you can oversee easily, I have a 08' Kintaro Edition which has the Facelift Bumper (long thin foglights, larger lower grille, basically the same front that Coltons Mazda3 has but with a different upper grille with the emblem and a rod in the middle of it) but originally without the nozzle points, those bumpers are pretty rare though because this Editon was only build for the European Market and only 1.500 were built. Maybe the Editions with Halogen lamps wont have them too because the nozzles were only for the ones with Xenon Lights. But then the issue is if the Halogen Facelifts have the same prettier bumper with the thin lights or still have the round lamps in the black "nearly triangular" socket
Thats the most common issue in a Maz3, seems like it still continues in the Gen2 BL. Your O2-Sensors gone bad, if you get the CEL again with the error, check if its O2 1 or O2 2, the 1 is the upper sensor before the catalythic convertor, 2 is after cat
I got an 09 2.3l with a p0421. Both 02s have been replaced but the code isn’t consistent and going on and off. It could have a exhaust leak which is my current guess for the code.

Same thing flies for the most part, engine wise i've heard of cylinders going bad so ensure you're keeping up with the spark plugs & use only OEM plugs.
That's up to you! :) I also recommended making sure your intake path is clean (MAF & throttle body) while ensuring your spark plugs aren't old. Replacing suspension components can feel really good as well as they age.
so i have a 09 mazda 2 2.0 Auto and the ac doesnt work and the electric ac switch doesnt illuminate when pressed currently i stil dont have ac but ive seen online that the temperature switch cluster goes out a lot in these... like your ac compressor could still work fine without any leaks in the lines but ac wont activate the clutch to turn on the ac due to the malfunctioning of the climate cluster. in the repair video i watched on youtube dude switches was broke so he bought a new cluster on ebay just for that one to not work as well
