In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

Paul Sinha would have given it a quarter turn and said, "Good enough. Now we just hope everyone else pulps it."
Which is exactly what I would have done. Also in my dressing gown and slippers lol
And with people from the rest of that season he would have gotten 4 points 😂
A gruff "I did 8 rotations" is now my answer to anyone who asks me how work was
This reminded me of the Amazon show "The Mill" (2023)
I love how she says “I can’t believe I didn’t think of that” in regards to moving the spot knowing damn well she wouldn’t have been able to do that hahahah
This is one of those “How can I make a task out of this really cool bit of apparatus that just happens to be at the location we’re filming at?” tasks, like kids making a new ball game based on the geometry of the room they happen to be in
you've just described real tennis
This feels like either a reference to xkcd or Tom Scott
@@ArifRWinandar it feels like tom scott as I believe that's almost the exact phrasing that was used
@@korumann Yeah, from one of the TechDif podcasts where they talk about squash and real tennis
I'm imagining the writer's room for this task.
"Can we get a pulper?"
"What's a pulper?"
"I don't know what that is."
"It's got something to do with slurry."
"What's slurry?"
"We can put an egg in it"
*a resounding chorus of all in agreement*
Isn’t Slurry next to Klent?
I suspect it may have been the other way round:
"I've got an offer for a pulper we can use"
"What's a pulper?"
"Dunno, but I reckon we can put an egg in it"
am i the only one who immediately knew what the pulper did based on the fact orange juice has "pulp" in it? aka a pulper pulps fruits aka crushes them
When the cymbals crashed, Jenny had this look of terrified old lady, and then she recovered and went full-on punk rocker (like she was in her youth). Only Taskmaster can do this.
During the task, and indeed on rewatch, I fully expected as Ivo pulled out the egg before the whistle, he wouldn’t catch it and it would break. This series gave us many great ivo botches and that would’ve been another
"I'm not good at the lateral thinking tasks" Proceeds to think laterally in the simple gambling task
Blind Shroedinger’s egg - that is an accurate description on what is happening in this task 😂
Schrödingers experiment requires the fact that you cannot observe the object. Its kind of the main thing.
@@Zacskostelywhich is true of the contestants!
@@krissdev it is. What I was trying to do is pointing out that specifying 'blind' was redundant.
It’s always a joy to see Ivo succeed since it happens so rarely 😂
I’m a bit surprised none of them decided to go back and forth between full clockwise/counterclockwise rotations.
Given they didn’t know the mechanism of egg based doom, I doubt any of them thought it would help.
If you watch carefully, Frankie spins the dial in one direction while everyone else spins it in the opposite direction but the thing inside the drum only spins anticlockwise for all of them, so no matter which way they rotate it the mechanism will still make the egg basket rise.
@@shinbios going back and forth would undo the rotation anyway. Although i'm guessing it would also undo your score as well
@@lred1383it wouldn't undo the rotation, as there seems to be some mechanism to provide rotation in only one direction regardless of which way the wheel is turned. Francie is the only one to turn the wheel in a different direction, but every shot of the inside of the pulper has the blade spinning the same way, so even switching which way they spun the wheel wouldn't have mattered
I was legitimately surprised there wasn't a surprise foot cam disqualification for that last attempt.
Yeah ! I watched his feet expecting a millimetre of shoe out of the spot, but no !
He wasn't told he couldn't touch the ground, just that he had to stay on the spot - being slightly off it is still on it.
"I would just kick myself if I hadn't pulped it yet and I had stopped turning"
right before the timer ended and the egg-stir-mination 😂
The equivalent of "I can do one more", when you are at your limit 😂
Was half expecting a "shoe got off spot" disqualification after all that :D
I love Mae’s old timey worker impression.
hear me out: no-one pulped the egg, they just broke it because a) breaking and pulping are two different processes b) the egg was not broken by the pulping action of the pulper and so could not be said to be pulped even when broken c) third thing
C) you had the knowledge to argue this point that nobody on the show was able to use.
With how often contestants do that, I'm genuinely disappointed it's not an automatic thought for future contestants... Like it's so obvious to at least check to see if you can try to move the "spot."
They had such fun putting all that crap inside the pulper 😂
Intrigued that there's a task where Ivo's the trickster of the 5, usually he ain't.
It also didnt say the rotations all had to be in the same direction. Just rotate it back and forth 50 times
Unironically really clever challange. Even all these years and task master still has interesting tasks.
Ivo doing a lateral thinking is surprising
Based on this clip Ivo, with his inventiveness and equanimity, clearly was the runaway winner of the season.
The Rorschach test implemented as cyberpunk machinery…
I love that doing this is such a gamble. Theres no way to know if they'll call it cheating or not
How could it be cheating? It doesn't violate any of the rules set out
@@phelpysan Realistically- it depends on how boring it was, and how many other people thought of it,
so if 3 of 'em do it- and it takes all the challenge out of the challenge- it's "breaking the rules"
but if only one person does it- and it's amusing to see them think of it while everyone else overcomplicated it- or screwed it up- then it's fine.
an... ed... gamble?
They don't apply the rules entirely consistently, but the vast majority of the time it's simple - letter of the law, not spirit of the law. Using technicalities and loopholes is actively encouraged
I will use this video as a fable about the importance of using a debugger for fixing software bugs.
I may use this video as proof that sometimes, people deliberately put bugs in systems to vex the users.
@@Catherinzsl 😂😂😂
The editing-team was always the secret star of the show but this time they surpassed themselves
It's for making paper innit?
Yeah, which makes it all the more funny that Alex started reading about coffee pulpers when asked what the machine does.
One of the funnest tasks IMO
I'm with Ivo on this one - I wouldn't want to see inside of there either. XD
7:49 😂😂
8:02 his foot’s off the mat.
All of them could have turned the wheel a few times one way and a few times the OTHER WAY
OH FUCK IT, PULP THE EGG!!!
Ivo’s best task by far
Okay but he did step off the spot while making his way back, so in reality he should be disqualified.
Since it's based on number of rotations couldn't you just switch between clockwise and anticlockwise? Granted I did not know what a pulper nor the mechanism is prior to this
i rate this cast 4/5 stars!
Clear win of smartness!
That’s one of the strangest tasks ever 🤔
My question is (and apologies if i missed it) could it be rotated in the opposite direction? Then they could do an endless loop of rotating one way, then the other.
Taskmaster mastery right there. Great work, Ivo.
🤔🔄🥚👌🎉
And the last contestant, Yoda.
More smashed than pulped
Ther is no way possible that an egg can be turned to pulp.
I do like Ivo's Public Service Broadcasting "Go!" t-shirt for this episode, or it looks at least eerily similar to my red one.
Such a creative task
Kiell giving Alex some sass at the start is so good.
Do they just not air every challenge on the main show, or am I just daft? I swear I watched every episode of this season but don’t remember this whatsoever
It was on the show, with the episode named after this task, Schrödinger’s Egg
1 thing I know so far. Kiell in real life 'is' actually Mike from the ghosts series. Got it.
however his feet were not fully on the spot at all times, the right foot was half way off on his return
CLASSIC
I'd have just asked Alex to remove the egg
He wouldn't have done it
@@murmurrrr nothing in the rules to say that it's not allowed
@@christopherpope961
And nothing in the rules that state Alex has to do what the contestants want him to do.
He only ever helped contestants when it would be fun or maybe leveled the playing field a bit.
I don't think he would have helped here.
It's a rarity in this series but Ivo got a win.
And yet I don't think this was included in the Ivo's Greatest Moments video. Someone commented negatively about Ivo on that video. My response was something like, "Ivo had great moments. These weren't them."
One of only 8 tasks he won I believe, tied with Judi Love, Katherine Parkinson and now Nick Mohammed for the least in a 10-episode series
The loophole game😂
5:40 😂😂 5:45 😂
@Taskmaster I would like to propose a very simple task that I'd love to see the contestants do. Completely bare room with a plain and simple table. A bowl at one end and a packet of Weetabix at the other. All you have to do is put as many Weetabix in the bowl as possible, without spilling any crumbs outside of the packet or the bowl. The sheer fury I get every morning making my breakfast would be very entertaining to see!
Boring
@@murmurrrr It is simplistic chaos.
Dont wanna sound like im nit picking here - but this is Taskmaster and the basic premise is to nitpick..
But the PULPER didnt pulp the egg the basket broke and caused the egg to break due to gravity..
The last contestant did what I would have done when I heard the Task. Well done.
Great video.
sure looked like he fell off the spot at on the way back.
Why not just do one full rotation one way then one full rotation the opposite way
Ok but what the hell is a pulper
Keep talking shit and you'll find out 👊💥
I would like to say that no eggs were "pulped" during this contest. They where smashed.
Pulping requires the object to be crushed into a *shapless* mass. The eggs had waaay to much shape/structure left to be pulp. ^^
None of them pulped the egg. Dropping it wasn’t a pulping action.
I did wonder about the semantics of this task.
I see Frankie, I press like
His foot came off. Should be a DQ !
They are always so good! Sad the American version of Taskmaster is absolute shit when compared to this.
I think it was about season 11 or so that they jumped the shark.
When you going to post taskmaster australia season 2
Soon!
@@Taskmaster not soon enough
I would argue that the egg was never pulped, it was dropped. If pulping is an important enough verb for an entire machine to be created to do it, then the egg must be destroyed in the manner that a pulper would normally destroy an egg.
Transvestism is not a good look.
British people find this funny?
That Mae dude creeps me out.
That's nice, dear.
