My aunt was supposed to play Here Comes the Bride at my wedding but when I walked down the aisle and saw my uncle Wally at the piano playing instead I was elated! One of my greatest memories of him.✨💜✨

His Piano Playing Needs To Be Remastered In 4K
It can only be done from FILM otherwise the best quality you’ll ever get is what it was recorded on.
If you look carefully, Wally is playing it in Ragtime style and adding sprinkles. It’s not an easy technique, but you can learn it and it’s always impressive. Learn some boogie woogie first, and your halfway there. All of which would be easy with 3 or 4 hands, so practice it with a friend, then you’re playing it.
had the special privilege gift, to have a childhood loaded with that sound at First Church of the Nazarene Winter Haven Florida.. every sunday, that was the sound that greeted us walking into the sanctuary.. what a special gift! what a way to grow up.. a sound that will never leave my mind.. always thinking " I bet he "could" be sooo famous if he wasn't trapped in a small town.. little did I know how famous he was.. to me, he was that awesome piano player that sat near me during potlucks.. and shook hands stronger than anyone in the whole world..... amazing people.. he was definetly, one of the most memorable.. Praise you Lord for sharing such an amazing person with the World and especially with me..

Wally Varner was one of the last true one man band pianists in gospel music. He was unbelievable.
Wally Varner was the greatest gospel pianist ever. I had the pleasure to meet him and the Blackwood Brothers as a high school freshman. Great man.
