This was one of the favorite songs of my parents. I have a recording of them singing the song. Unfortunately, my father died in 1950 at the age of 25. He did not have a chance to grow old in this world. My father was a devoutly religious man. This song captures his belief in an eternal life.
This song as a little boy Sylvester James Jr sang this and when he passed away he asked Jeanie Tracy to sing this at his funeral in Dec. 1988..Rip Sylvester
At a time when worship teams try to come up with a new catchy tune for us to sing. I believe we need to sing these Scripture based songs for Sunday again.
