It's a beautiful song... and having 55k fans singing it back hits hard, especially knowing that this was their final show ever (they reunited after a some years, but nobody knew that at the time). T here are many connections / references between Babymetal and X-Japan, and this song inspired "No Rain No Rainbow". The Metal gods smiled on Japan, because a few days before X-Japan's final concert, Su metal was born.
What makes me sad watching this concert is that, when they reunited....Hide was already gone... This was their final performance together as X Japan with Hide...😭
This song gets to me every time. Toshi (singer) already announced that he was quitting the band at this point and he didn't want to do this concert because he thought the fans hated him and wanted to attack him for breaking up the band. Hide (guitar) talked him into doing it. There is an excellent documentary called "We are X" that goes through the history of X Japan.
I discovered X Japan a couple years ago after my friend passed away and their music really hit home for me. Such an amazing group with talent and diversity.
They have a few bangers and they also have a few that will definitely get you to reflect and just let it all out. Listening to music and it just feels like they are patting you on the back.
I watch them when they played this on New Year’s it made my wife cry I cried inside They also did a collaboration with other artists for endless rain and BABYMETAL helped out
Appreciate the raw emotion from you guys - truly a special song, special performance and special band! What a feeling it would be to be able to have such crowd control and such love from your fans for them to just keep singing your lyrics over and over again....
@@dicodec No worries - should I feel privileged to receive two comments from you? 😂 Hopefully catch you on the next Babymetaltube stream! And your stream of course
I am japanese and live in japan. Please don't believe all this movie. The facts of this movie are distorted. In fact, Toshi was forced to sing by Yoshiki for realizing YOSHIKI's ideals. It led such a beautiful songs, but the recording was so hard for him.Toshi had been denied and treated like an instrument by Yoshiki. In the end , Toshi lost self confidence because he could not sing for YOSHIKI's satisfaction. It caused that Toshi joined the cult. It is well known the fact in japan.
@@anytimehappylife the difficulties that Toshi faced realising Yoshikis musical ideas were discussed in the film, when they discussed the recording of 'the art of life'. Either way, Toshi still joined the cult, which resulted in the band splitting and the last live.
@@anytimehappylife plus, Yoshiki is the bands writer and band leader, so the whole band is performing to his ideals.. That is not unusual. Allot of bands will have the one creative driving force., and yes Toshi is just the singer.
@@anytimehappylife I would love to hear more. Hide's death has never felt like a suicide and its very strange how Yoshiki catapulted into mainstream megastardom shortly after Hide's demise.
Endless Rain, Forever Love and Tears. Used to listen to these 3 back when I was in high school. Didnt think much of the lyrics, just one of those sad mellow songs on sad days to listen to. Now, 20years later and these lyrics surely hits differently. Just deep sorrow and ache :( so hard to listen to without tearing up.
This is the power of X-Japan. It touches your deepest feelings. This song it's even more sad when you know that Yoshiki ( the drummer and pianist of the band) wrote this song for his father that killed himself when he was a kid.
Oh dude, this song especially gets X Japan fans literally sobbing. I can't even think about X Japan for too long withought getting emotion. The emotion they felt on the stage was completely real, and you really feel that. I'm so genuinely glad you guys reacted to this live. X Japan has such a special place in so many peoples hearts dude. And now I'm genuinely sobbing, don't worry Alan metal tears only. Rip Hide and Taiji 🤘
Alan, exactly my reaction. X Japan does some great speed metal stuff, but the raw emotion they put into their Ballads is UNREAL. Not just this one. Also Last Song, Tears and Forever Love. Of course next level sad on this particular concert. It's in my top 3 of concerts ever played for sure.
@@dicodec I'm not sure but didn't you do a reaction on their debut single Kurenai a few months back? that one definitely is a good example on the heavier stuff. Ah,music so amazing isn't it?? Music let us to feel its okay to be vulnerable,we're human after all. I didn't understand the lyric, but my chest feel so tight whenever I play this song. Thanks guys for reacting.
Love X-Japan and Hide's side projects.😭 Also, I know maybe it's not fully your style but can you react some of the old Buck-Tick songs? Buck-Tick and X-Japan was friends, they started together, they became Japanese Rock Legends together, they together created whole new genre which most popular in Japan now (visual key). Buck-Tick's vocalist Sakurai Atsushi was one of the inspirations for Kyo from Dir en grey (and many-many others). Buck-Tick's sound was more heavy in their old days then now, but I'd recommend you to watch them. The only reason they are not as famous abroad as X-Japan - they have never tried to become global and never performed outside of Japan.
This concert breaks me everytime. Everybody in that arena was there to feel every second of every song, and it shows! I don't know if people have recommended this, but there are two song you guys should absolutely react to: 'X' (yes, that's the name) the band's anthem, fast, heavy, all time headbanger, and 'Art of Life', it's a bit long but I think you'll love it and feel all the feels in it.
X-Japan has some great but hauntingly sad ballads. One reason for this is that the composer/pianist/drummer Yoshiki had his father pass away at an early age due to suicide. The song Tears is the song that most directly deals with this. Yoshiki speaks in English with a direct message to his father. As someone who's lost a dad, that part hits right in the feels. Endless Rain might be X's most famous song in Japan. And during this performance, the band thought this was their last concert. @@kai_henrik But even those, other than maybe 2 are still pretty light compared to most of the reactions here. I'm really wanting a Rusty Nail reaction. Also looking forward to Silent Jealousy but many of them only seem to have older low quality recordings.
You guys must understand the background of this music, the leader of the band, as the pianist and drummer, wrote this to remember his dad, and he went through so many depression and hard times. So this music really shows his emotion. The song is heard as a sad song but the audience really embrace it as they sing along for a long time even after the band moves out of the stage. Really good song. I really like X Japan, so sad that the lead guitarist and bassist both died in a tragic story. 😥
@@dicodec If you can find a check out the song “X” the original video was pulled a while back and I think the only thing I’ve been able to find was like a fan recording but it’s from the same show.

There is a nice acoustic version of Endless Rain from about 10 years ago where Sugizo switches to violin for a section in the middle of the song. Re-visiting the last live endless rain video finally knowing the reason why Toshi left the band, breaks my heart even more. Great react and thank you for bringing X Japan out to the world again for more people to discover and enjoy the great music they bring!
the audience is going nuts. found X Japan through the covers of their songs. X Japan may look a bit over the top, but they were an amazing band. I am a big fan of nemophilas drummer Tamu ( her drumming and her smile are amazing). she did an amazing cover of "X", "Rusty Nail", "Dahlia" and "Kurenaj" with their friends. " X JAPAN - Rusty Nail (Full Band Cover 2019)" first I thought it was the original singer, it is really good (and without ugly guitars.
I went to this live. When this song was played and everyone was singing a big chorus, I remember crying thinking, "Oh, it's over. I'm singing in a loud voice, so don't end it like this."

this concert is the last before their disbandment. and this concert for me personally is their best times. all of them is at the top of their performances. toshi got back his vocals after 1 or 2 years after x japan decided to make a comeback again.
yes Bro's, I am pleased that you could experience the highest possible concert level. All Japanese rock / metal bands strive for exactly this level. I even knew them in the 90's, but didn't really know how big they were, it was incredibly difficult and expensive to get hold of Japanese records in Europe at that time. Video material completely hopeless! great honest reaction, I was no different
No rain, No rainbow is a song I have grown to really love last year. I can tell that song was very inspired by this song. (Listened to this song about 10 times today, having never heard it before - amazing)
Not many acts can say that they did something like this. Ballads were one of their fortes. "Tears", "Say Anything", "Forever Love" are examples. You should watch the movie "We Are X" it kind of gives you a background into this band.
I didn't know too much about X JAPAN, I knew them only because of the references BABYMETAL uses. Then I saw this show, THE LAST LIVE and damn! I fell in love with them, Then I watched the documentary WE ARE X! oh boy, that one hits really hard! Also, you should check KURENAI again but a newer version, KURENAI from the last live or any show post 1990. The one you did was almost like a demo version so that version doesn't make justice to the real song. R.I.P. Hide & Taiji.
feel very mixed feelings for them, because this is their last live and will be on hiatus for a long time, maybe we know how sad and touched it was when the audience sang it together on this song, really lovee this bandd
"Endless rain, fall on my heart, kokoro no kizuni (en: in this wounded soul) Let me forget, all of the hate, all of the sadness.." This song is very emotional, and this is as the concert title says, the last live before X-Japan disbanded then follow the tragedy, their lead guitarist, Hide died, Taiji their bassist also died in 2011 at 45. For year end event, Yoshiki played this song together with Bryan May and Roger Taylor from Queen, and also our girls Su-Metal and Moa-Metal, And of course I cried. this concert is the last before their disbandment. and this concert for me personally is their best times. all of them is at the top of their performances. toshi got back his vocals after 1 or 2 years after x japan decided to make a comeback again.
yes Bro's, I am pleased that you could experience the highest possible concert level. All Japanese rock / metal bands strive for exactly this level. I even knew them in the 90's, but didn't really know how big they were, it was incredibly difficult and expensive to get hold of Japanese records in Europe at that time. Video material completely hopeless! great honest reaction, I was no different
Thanks so much! Yeah we definitely would have been missing out if we hadn't reacted to this song.
i love endless rain but i love tears more it hits me right in the heart.
Oh wow, that is also one we got to check out.
No rain, No rainbow is a song I have grown to really love last year.
I can tell that song was very inspired by this song.
(Listened to this song about 10 times today, having never heard it before - amazing)
Oh wow, that's dope you got to experience this with us!
@@dicodec great, emotional times :)
Even though Ihad seen it before, I cried along with it again! 😢
I love a track by them called *I think* IV used on the end credits to one of the Saw films
You guys should check out we are x documentary .👍
I really do want to
The next song I want is Forever Love
Further impressed🤗
Sounds dope! I will add it to the list
Thx for your reaction alan, you have a good heart
Aaww thank you! 🥰🥰
rose of pain and art of life are going to blow your mind
Can't wait to hear them!
Alrght now its time for X Japan -- Vanishing Love PV. Youve seen their emotional side now its time to see them go off.
We're down!
cry for your tears from Japan
Thank you so much for watching!
Really amazing.
Most definitely, one of the most epic we've done.
@@dicodec Yea, seriously amazing.
The Last Live changed my life. I never thought a concert could do that.
Finally, Unblocked 🤘🤘
Edit : Blocked version, but its okay we can watch the original video :)
We were able to finally no keep it up!
Dang ,,my fav concert X_japan ever 😭
I can see why. This was epic!
@@dicodec last live from x_japan and the last see from hideki matsumoto 😢
I'm tearing up with you guys
It is really hard not to
Not many acts can say that they did something like this. Ballads were one of their fortes.
"Tears", "Say Anything", "Forever Love" are examples. You should watch the movie "We Are X" it kind of gives you a background into this band.
True, definitely have to look into some more X Japan for sure.
Do more X Japan please
You got it chief!
ENDLESS RAINをリスペクトする多くの人がライブ映像観てるけど、MVの方が曲の全てを映像に出してるからぜひMVを見て欲しい
Thanks for featuring X japan! I also get teary when I hear Endress rain at this live...
Yeah this song hit us hard. It was such a great song we're so glad to react to stuff like this.
I think we got what you were trying to say for the most part.
@@dicodec Yes!I think most important live of the Japanese music history.
I know, bro... Tears...
I love You...
Ah I see, you're right we did promise to go back and listen to it. We will soon.
My proposition to reaction video is Loudness - Speed (live in Europe) or Reaction Band - Joyride from Insane album
feel very mixed feelings for them, because this is their last live and will be on hiatus for a long time, maybe we know how sad and touched it was when the audience sang it together on this song, really lovee this bandd
I feel you brother 😭
"Endless rain, fall on my heart, kokoro no kizuni (en: in this wounded soul)
Let me forget, all of the hate, all of the sadness.."
This song is very emotional, and this is as the concert title says, the last live before X-Japan disbanded then follow the tragedy, their lead guitarist, Hide died, Taiji their bassist also died in 2011 at 45.
For year end event, Yoshiki played this song together with Bryan May and Roger Taylor from Queen, and also our girls Su-Metal and Moa-Metal,
And of course I cried.
Thank you for this, keep the good work
Wow that is very sad
Rumor is the crowd is still singing the chorus
I believe it.
