    I own one of these baby's. 2021 model year. A lot of fun to ride. Big time attention grabber at any deli shops or petrol stations, cruises great, corners great, average 170 miles on a tank when the fuel light comes on but have twice achieved just over 200 miles on 3.8gal. Great review! Subbed!

    Its the best bike I’ve ever owned. I live in British Columbia. Lots of main roads here are dirt roads. And at 150/km/h in a straight stretch. This bike feels like it on the highway. To heavy to be fun on trails. But certainly capable of them, but youre gonna work for it. Its not a light dirt bike. If i had to pick one bike for the rest of my life. It would be the desert sled, love my night train, and my hondas. But this bike doesn’t everything well. And it looks great doing it. I get more people asking about it than any of my other bikes.

    I went to a bike show here in manchester poss 2017 and sat on one as you do had a picture as you do and i thought yeah it kind of fits on the tip toes but i liked it. Fast forward a_bit and my multi was in for a service and the manchester ducati shop let me have 1 for the day. Well what a real hoot it was through manchester and out into the peak district. Fast forward a_bit and i got 1 back in 2018 and i use it for going to the gym or anywhere where you just want to throw on a jacket or go on the back b roads. Ive only done less than 3000 miles in that time but its been great. I put a loud leo vince decat end can on to give it the voice it needs but i might have to get it tuned as it seems to have lost a bit of mid range punch. The only downside is i had to go out and buy a complete new wardobe of scrambler type biking gear to go with it !

    Last year I decided to pick up a bike that I could use in the trails but would have the ability to ride it there instead of trailering or loading in the truck. I considered the desert sled because it looks amazing but its on the heavier side and the exhaust is pretty low and out in the open plus it being air cooled kinda worried me. I went with the ktm 690 enduro r and I really like it. I think the sled would be better on the road especially the highway but on the trails the 690 is amazing. It’s 100lbs lighter and almost the same hp. It’s suspension has more travel and the 21” front wheel makes getting over obstacles easier. It’s like a street legal dirt bike. That said I’d still like to have a desert sled in the garage to ride around town and maybe some fire roads. Very good review 👍

    • @tonebonetones
      @tonebonetones 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. But. The 690 would be naff on the roads, in town, and any motorway trip over 40 miles. The desert sled is a compromise, its not an enduro machine, and its wayyyyy lighter than a BMW GS whale barge.

    • @savage22bolt32

      We've been riding air cooled bikes for over a hundred years. One less system to break down.
      I think overbearing government regulations are why everything is LQ, FI & ECU these days.
      I own 6 AC bikes & one LC (CRF250L). Every time I drop it while woods riding, the first thing I check is the radiator.

  • @jeanettewest

    This was a good video. Everything about it. Except when looking straight down on top of the handlebars, I got a little upside down tummy. You should put some gnarly motocross tires on that bike and go wild in a muddy field. We don't have any here, used too when I lived on the Eastern Coast of the U.S. but up here it's kinda frozen or gravel. Nice bike and composition.

    Triumph should have made their scramblers frame smaller - they are so big they preclude any potential for real trail use. I’ve been on this bike and I’m 5’6 with a 30’ inseam and it’s perfectly fine, feels much more agile and light, and I’d have little issue with trails despite what the numbers say - they are worlds apart and I’m a Triumph owner

    I'm not familiar with ducati. And I don't know why, But it's looks for me like not maintenance friendly. And when you can't maintain your own bike, it's not really your bike. It's more like someone own you for your own money. And I don't like this feeling.

    With styling a motorbike converting it customising it making it look really trick the whole look is ruined by whoever sits on it if you’ve got a custom bike really slick and then you get on it and you’re wearing a stupid leather jacket or a full face helmet you are creating not the look and it’s a look complete it depends I’ve got a excel 84 bar hopper 1 gallon tank should be about 70 miles I get 50 if I’m lucky because I ride it as it should’ve got short shot exhaust and it’s got stage one conversion with a Screamin eagle filter and it’s also got a receipt and rear pegs genuine rear seat Harley genuine we are pigs fitted properly not clip on fitted into the frame so yeah my son bought it and wanted to take his partner on the back sorry my son wanted me to buy he’s going to be half an hour you never did so that’s what the boys do but yeah I’m trying to upload some pictures of myself and showing you what image I create people don’t forget me when I ride round with open face helmet mirror sunglasses and a cigar and I have actually smoked one of the Anna Halle riding but that’s useless because the air draft actually just burns it back in for quicker and only shows and looking at bikes waste of fucking time you buy a bike to ride it on the road you don’t buy a bike to look at it I need it becomes a material object no you’re a thought you know that Suzuki looks really cool though that stripped back flat bars yeah I like that that’s that is cool now that I’ve built for purpose yep my bike ride a Vulcan 650 ABS which I don’t know what you’re aware of its the only reason I bought it is to my best friend zone uncle become a turkey plush for Corby they go go go we go we go Turkey mostly motocross yeah I run the AMC a motocross club for 20 years really fucked up my joints ha ha ha ha yeah well there you go dislocating your knee Trythall year is quite fun in our year flat bars oh yeah I ride my Vulcan like a motorcross her I don’t lean into the corner I mean opposite so that there was a Vulcan yeah oh psi oh classic look at the strip back there’s no flipping fancy bits everything meant for a purpose everything exacting engineered to be a purpose nothing frivolous for Northern another one strip back flat bars around it motocross style so when I go into corner I actually live on the other way so my weight is straight down onto the tire rather that cause it doesn’t Halloween if Eileen too far I put my foot down I have actually worn a little bit of my heel where I’ve put my foot down too many times I don’t actually want to hear on with you but yeah actually can’t walk without a stick away from the bike but when I get on the bike its freedom and there’s nothing I like better to go down of a really really bumpy road motocross dial my arse off the seat standing up in a pegs letting the bike via bounce up and down in between my legs cause that is fine but it’s a whole different style
