I can't get over the perfect timing of this video!!! I have been thinking about moving my Japanese studies to its own insert and now I feel like I'm studying alongside you - super excited!!
UGH IM SO HAPPY ABOUT THIS !!! once again are journaling minds are in sync 😏😌
gamsahabnida!!! I’m currently learning Korean and I just purchased a B6 Midori notebook for my studies. This video was super-helpful with ideas on how to set-up my own!!! 💜
💜💜💜💜 so happy that it could be useful, kristal !! do keep me posted on how you use yours 😌😍
I am also learning japanese and love to know what other people use for their language learning. I use the hobonichi weeks planner as my language journal and planner. The more I study the more I can write and speak so I am running out of space in my small planner lol. But that's a good thing. I wish you well in your japanese studies. がんばって!!!!!
oh it's so nice to hear you use a hobonichi weeks! that was an option i considered as well. i might find a way to incorporate it later on as well. likewise, good luck on your studies!!!
This was the perfect video to watch while having lunch, thank you! Y me alegra oírte hablar en español! I'm thinking of trying out some language journaling in my Hobonichi weeks that currently doesn't have a purpose anymore. I'm hesitant because I go through periods of intense studying and periods of just not studying at all lol. So maybe a notebook would work better, but I somehow find that I'm more motivated when there's dated pages? I can also relate to what you said about Japanese literature, so true. Good luck with your studies!
😭💜 im so glad you were able to enjoy it! me emocione al verte hablar español!! i'm the same with periods of intense study and then moments where i almost forget i was learning a language in the first place haha that's also why i gravitate towards undated BUT its true that having the dated pages offers a little extra push and reminders to practice every day. thanks, ru!
i love the notebook setup!! not me wanting to learn japanese too now 😆 this is a great system honestly. and i really like the postcards you added to the front. they make it so unique
ugh so obsessed with the postcards honestly! can't stop looking at them. also 👀 start learning Japanese then lol
I started studying Japanese a couple of months ago and have been thinking about what notebook to set up. I have that exact B6 slim on my shelf waiting for a purpose!
sounds like a sign to me! do let me know if you end up setting that one up and if you enjoy it! i like the size a lot for language learning and of course the paper is great per usual with any midori product.
I love this idea! I’d love to see this all set up for use. I have some haphazard tries for something like this and I could never find a good system that worked for me. I would love some ideas on how to make this work for me.
definitely noted and i will work on making a follow up video once the key is all set up and i've worked through a few pages! thank you for your comment
Hi Ella! I am also learning Japanese. My parents put me in Japanese school for a few years while I was in Kindergarten. I can read and write hiragana and katakana. I have trouble with sentence structure and I get so nervous speaking Japanese. I am currently on day 83 of my Duolingo streak haha! I haven’t actually sat down to study (I mostly do my Duolingo when I am bored during the day). I remember using a notebook to hold all my character practices - the name of the notebook is slipping my mind atm. It’s basically full of pages with boxes to write each character in. I found it helpful to practice stroke order and I remember using it to learn how to write my name lol!
I took a Korean class in high school so I can read and write but again I don’t know how to speak or put sentences together. Especially because the way words and sounds are written is not how they are pronounced a lot of the time. Haha. Initially I got into Korean because I was watching Korean dramas (think Boys Over Flowers haha) but now it’s 100% because of K-Pop and food. I know a little bit of Hawaiian (‘Ōlelo Hawai’i) because it’s taught a bit in the public school system here. Hawaiian culture is beautiful and interesting to learn and understand. I have so much respect for their people and take it as my responsibility (kuleana in Hawaiian) as a person living on O’ahu to learn about their culture. Wow I didn’t realize I had so much to say haha. Thanks for prompting and reading this little reflection of mine ~ :P
thanks for sharing so much! i loved reading about your journey with languages and learning about different cultures !!! i had looked into getting a notebook with the boxes for practicing my lettering but chose to wait on it. boys over flowers was the first k-drama I ever watched hahaha I was actually rewatching some episodes the other day 😂 loved hearing about your respect for the Hawaiian culture
I randomly came across this video after buying my own a5 midori; maybe this is a sign to continue learning Japanese because I randomly stopped at some point 😅
hahah definitely a sign!
extremely random comment: I like the blue/purple reflection on your glasses during the intro
😍😭
You guessed one of the books right :D that is indeed grade 1 kanji :D the other workbooks say “words and phrases” and “hiragana katakana”
!!!! ahhhh yesssss !! i was so confused when i got them cause i could've sworn kanji wasn't included so that's why you see me glitching in the video 😂😅
