Beneath the image of South Korea's modernity and rapid economic growth, there exists a pressing social issue concerning the elderly who often find themselves isolated, lacking support, and suffering from memory loss.
A substantial number of elderly South Koreans lead challenging lives. Some are forced to resort to offering sexual services in public parks in exchange for their livelihood, a shocking reality that has been the focus of poignant documentaries.
This episode has been filmed in 2017.

Elderly all over the world are generally treated quite indifferently or even badly everywhere including in my country India. This is a sad truth of the world today.

How someone can be so evil to exploit an elderly instead of helping ease their struggles is beyond me. I recently lost my Abuela and now my Abuelo lives alone. Offered to move in by EVERYONE, not just my family, but instead wishes to live solo in the house he and my late Abuela lived in for so long. I can't fathom anybody hurting such old souls anymore than loneliness already is.

Hija Dios te bendiga. Tengo 60 años, I studied up to my M.A. degree, married, divorced with 2 children , now adults y les dediqué mis mejores años. I worked for a major 500 Company and had to retire due to health issues. Regresé a mi Isla del Encanto solo para encontrar que aquí si no tienes familia, eres invisible y no existes. Podría seguir....pero de que vale. Hija, hoy mi hijo, the one I call my Joy turns 26 yrs old. Yet he has chosen not to speak to me , for reasons he has never told me, since the age of 15. My children, family are my World but it's coming to its end. I don't fear death only dying alone. Keep Love, Compassion and Hope alive. ❤🙏🏻 Dios te bendiga

@@SavannahShepherd669 With do respect and will give you the benefit of the doubt that you do, hopefully do your part in anyway wherever your to help stop this, but I am sadden by just a reply and not offering a way or idea to help. Please no disrespect intended. It's like offering thoughts and prayers. We as a Society MUST DO BETTER because sooner or later it will be our turn to be in similar situations. Peace ,Health and Respect 🙏🏻

I don't believe that's it's only in Korea - most countries experience the same. Solitude, not enough money, and a sad sad life, at the end of a lifetime of working for everyone. 😢
Seems like this church are giving out a solid meal - much appreciated I think
I know several elderly, that will NOT undergo a dementia test, being afraid of the result....

No one has said its only south korea. Even the narrator said many countries are facing an ageing population.

    Famiglia sopra ogni cosa .❤

Can you blame them? Housing is unaffordable. Rent and bills are unaffordable. Unemployment after university is at an all time high in Korea. They cant even support themselves and they have to support their parents.

Yet they spend so much time on mindless and useless things like Tiktok, and some other toxic things that I don't want to mention.@@layloo5244

1:50 - Well there's the problem right there - look at how healthy the food they are eating is! Feed these people some burgers and fries and watch their hearts explode and their insulin stop being produced. Problem solved.
