I have a 1970 Maverick with a 3 on the tree. LOVE IT! My dad bought me a new Maverick in 1970 just like the one I have now except for the color. I am in the process of restoring now. Sure brings back a lot of good memories!
I'm a huge Maverick fan and love this project. I always wanted to build one with a terminator power plant but this makes so much more sense. Love that it got a lot of attention. Great job Sung Kang

He does seem a really cool guy, was always fond of his character since he joined the brand back on F&F Tokyo. It's neat that he picked Maverick to build. They always had a vintage Pro Stock vibe given their drag race history, especially when it was designed by Ford to be an econo-box. I'd hang with the dude.

Oh snap! You might be surprised the wisdom of Sung- the idea isn't to bust knuckles and soak up all the glory as a car builder here, but to create and provide opportunities. Check out some of the videos from Garage Monkey where he encourages Tony, Alexis, and Christian to do the bartering and actively participate in the build. He's an actor- that's his work, but he's put some real heart into this project by way of shadow leadership. When it's your vision and your name it's easier to just take it over and do everything so you control the outcome, but you can't get a SEMA car done like that. The scope is too great. The smart guy (Sung) involves others and through the projects gives them the spotlight and shares the opportunity all around AND comes out with a better car for it too. You know what I mean? That's leadership.

I was with them on and off- I did a different interview by far though. How funny is Alex? I love that guy! Sung actually kept that Car Throttle hat on for most of the rest of the day too! You don't see Adnan much, but he is extremely impressive as well. Very convivial and quite visionary. Very cool guy!
