    Those who are asking about use of Hand brake in this procedure. Yes you can use hand brake. But that is for beginners and takes more time. This method is more practical in real life and when you are with traffic. Thank you dosto.

      Gagan Choudhary yaar i am perfect in driving but hand break chodhna meko thik ni lagta bcoz kaafi baar accelerater jyada dab jaati or suddenly hand break chodte h to car speed m jhate se aagey bhagti h jo mjhe khatarnak lagta h beginners k liye...       Gagan Choudhary This time you are wrong Gagan! This is exactly how people end up damaging their clutch plates and get burning smell too. Even professional drivers use handbrakes buddy! I hope you understand this, nobody is perfect, so even you can learn.
      Concept: By using half clutch on a slope, you are making the clutch do extra work because it has to pull the car against the gravitational pull.

    very good video gagan sirr..i told my father about it and he is really stsfied with ur method ..once on speed breaker our car collided with the rear car bec car's engine stopped on less than half of breaker ...now he is doing practice of ur method..very good video..sir ..i appiciate you

    this is half clutch technique for hill climb all driving schools on hills like himachal use this ,they always teach you this on hill climb there is no hand brake use in hill start here, i learned this technique in 5 min,its easy...

    Use Handbrake while roll back! And slowly release the Handbrake while releasing your clutch simultaneously! It will definitely make climb easier without rolling back!

      I have seen rollbacks where clutch can't hold, Handbrake is the only option.

      @@kunalb2051 my suggestion is that don't use handbrake use footbrake then release half clutch when car starts vibrating then don't release clutch but release foot brake car will not go back give race car will move no need to use hand brake... Try it

    In this technique u are simply burning clutch plate means reducing age of clutch plate. It's better using hand break as there's no possibility of moving backside of our vehicle. : Thank u

      Kuber T If you can do this clutch method very fast then it will not affect the clutch plate life. Gagan was demonstrating the process hence it seems heavy on clutch life.

      I am referring the petrol model here.
      The ac runs on the engine power
      And on hill engine requires maximum power to climb.
      The petrol i20 has just 82 bhp and 115 nm of torque which is relatively lower as compared to other cars and it is heavy also.
      Now i am not saying that the car will not climb the hill with AC switch on but if it is switched off there will be less stress on engine and less acceleration will be required.
      The driver will understand the difference quickly, how it feels climbing the hill with AC ON and OFF.
      I always switch off the AC in ghat section and the difference is quickly evident.

      i have also i20 diesel so i never turn off ac while climbing.who has alto,eon they can turn off ac while climbing

      kamal singh diesel model has 220 nm of torque which is very good where as petrol just has 115 nm of torque
      This matters very much.
      Petrol engine and diesel engine cant be compared while climbing hill
      So even if you don't turn off the AC engine takes the load, but in case of diesel you won't feel it.

    I have driven for almost 50000 km in hilly areas , and as per my experience use of hand brakes is a far easier and clutch plate friendly solution , whenever you need to start your momentum from zero speed. its works perfectly every time for me as well as for my car

    Sab faltu baat hai. Does not help new drivers.Many years back, I was a new driver. I practiced and mastered the half clutch technique as taught in the driving school. In half clutch the car won't slide back. With that confidence I went up a 36 hair pin bend mountain climb. After 25 bends the car started slipping in half clutch. To hold the car I needed both the hand and the peddle brake. Even the hand brake was hot and could not hold the car alone. It was a confidence crushing experience. I believe , even Gagan has never faced such a situation. Finally, I got a local driver . He managed to pull the car over by pressing the accelerator while releasing the peddle brake. All with the same right foot. Basically he put his foot sideways. With due respect I would say , to the new drivers such regular demos won't help. You need to understand some basic facts.
    1. Engine stops because it does not get enough fuel. You need to accelerate.
    2. Unlike an electric motor the power delivery of an internal combustion engine is non linear. Say around 3500 rpm the engine will have max torque. On a very long steep climb , you need to rev the engine to max torque and then release the clutch. Do not worry about mileage or comfort. Switch off the AC.
    3. Don't go by an assumption that half clutch will always hold the car. Imagine a situation where even the hand brake won't hold the car. You need both the brakes . How would you release the peddle brake and accelerate? That is scary , isn't it? Best technique is to learn to accelerate and release the peddle brake with one foot. Master that technique.

      Chetan Sharma I knew that was coming sooner or later. For your information sir, please check your vehicle's owner's manual, if not please let me know and shoot me an email I will send you a clear shot saying "you are not supposed to hold your vehicle on incline using clutch." I hope you find this convincing. And sir, if you are still in doubt. Believe me, I worked at a workshop part-time. Own a research and development company, I have an automobile parts supplies business, check out a few of my videos, which nobody gives a shit to.
      Even after this if you find this video useful, Fuck the engineers who made your vehicle those guys are useless.
      PS : I am not against Gagan sir, he takes hell lot of efforts to make even a 5 minutes video. But sometimes experts can you wrong too. Depends on their attitude and 'Ego' whether they are willing to accept it or not.

Which is bad, very very bad. I can't share the time as I am running low on data. So to my conclusion, the video is misleading. And you must agree with it. Which you do, I guess.     u are a amature....
    this will smoke the clutches....off thats y we smell the clutch plates smoke in hilly areas...
    the slope u used is nothing steeper...
    use of handbrakes is best option to avoid load on engine...
    have u been to mountains....i guess no...
    i have driven to rohtang...badrinath ...and this technique cant be used on a heavy loaded vehicle ....
    lol....but u are doing good...letting people burn off their clutch plates....hahah...

      Bro , we himachali don't use handbreaks for hill start neither we burn the cluth......this is the safe method if u are used to it...& it is believed in himachal that amature drivers use hand break

      and this clutch method is nothing just like driving car on a plane road....leave the clutch and then use accelarater....lol...
      just learn the proper combination of clutch and the accelarator...
      and what about the automatic cars in which we dont have the clutch....what himachali do then...
      push the car from behind...bcoz u dont use hand brakes...lol...pro people

      MR Singh sir Ji I have always used this method & never got stuck & when car is heavily loaded u need to shift your heel to accelerator while your toe is on brake pedal....u just need good skills between accelerator breaks & clutch & for your knowledge if u have ever travelled in crowded hrtc buses they never use handbrakes............... ..........next time try & learn this combination u will get out of every situation.......

    भाई क्यों इतना गणित लगा रहे हो। Simply use hand break. हैंड ब्रेक लगाओ, आधे कल्च पे थोड़ा एक्सेलेरेट करो और धीरे धीरे हैंड ब्रेक रिलीज़ करो। सिम्पल है यार कोई प्रेक्टिस की जरूरत भी नहीं। कर के देखो पहली बार में ही जायेगा। आप वाले मेथड में आपने खूब प्रेक्टिस की है फिर भी वीडियो में कई बार नहीं कर पाए।
