@@zander2776 That's why they were in the woods, they weren't watching the race, they got word a wild 10mm was in the area and sent out a group of hunters to track it.
Hello Zack I’m a twelve year old dirt bike racer and I have to say you’ve been a huge inspiration to me and I love your videos keep up the good work ❤️
Everyone laughed at Garry, "why do you carry that 8mm Garry? No ones ever going going to need a 8mm Garry ". But on this day, Garry knew his whole life had led up to this, this was his moment to shine, and show the whole world what he was made of. All those years of torment, sweat and tears, all those moments of pain of the ratchet poking him in the leg all for this moment. He came to the race as a man, but he left a legend. God bless you good sir
8:46, that was me! We banged "BARS" without crossin swords! I apologize for crossing lanes. Was trying to figure out the new rear tire and why it wasn't getting traction. If it makes you feel any better, I took your foot peg into the boot and got a decent black n blue! No worries! Kids still looking for you at the races! Congrats on the Beta! Also, upgraded the son to a 2020 Husqvarna TE150i. He's liking it.
I think a beta 300rr and a yz125x would be an absolutely killer combo. One for hard enduro, one for hare scrambles. Plus the YZ would make an excellent training tool.
Love racing I race gncc with my tc85 it’s a blast. Love your vids they make me so excited and I feel like I’m a better rider after watching them .it feels like I’m there
A Tm en 144 or a Tm en 125 would be something really interesting. Tm is a small italian manufacturer and build awesome bikes (by hand). In European Enduroraces (i don't mean the wess) they are regularly in the Top positions. I ride a Tm en 300 and love it... I know some guys on a en 144 and they say its the best bike they hav ever ridden because it combines the rev characteristics of a 125 but with a bit more low end like a 150. Maybe you can get your hands on one.
@@K20rotrex yes they are expensive but are a racebike right out of the box in comparison to other bigger brands. If you have ever worked on one you will notice the difference. In terms of reliability I can only speak for my own bike and I havn't had any problems - I guess it depends on maintenance... I know guys that have destroyed cr 250s and those have a really good reputation.
Because of my experiences racing some long enduros, have a super-small fanny pack with basic, essential tools in it that I wear ALL THE TIME when riding or racing, for exactly this kind of stuff. Can't believe more people don't. An 8m,10m, and 12m and a small channel-lock pliers; a small double-head screwdriver, a few bandaids and small roll of medical tape for broken fingers. It can make all the difference in the world and mean the difference between finishing or not.
Imagine buying a brand new Beta and then in the first race you're in talk about buying another bike because your new one isn't setup properly for the race. lmao Love the vids, regardless. hahaha
It’s a couple months away but a race happens in Indiana on the last weekend of October. It’s a GNCC race and the track rangers in the 12-13 mile range. It’s kinda big around here and I think you’d have fun. I know it’s a little far for New York but you won’t be disappointed. The race is called IRONMAN it takes place at Ironman race way just outside Crawfordsville IN. Would be a blast to see you there
Get a 2003 kdx200! Just like the one you loaded for me after the race! LOL you're the man I didn't even realize it was you until after we left I put it all together... You're a good guy!
Nice to see you back racing. I really enjoy your vids and take inspiration from them. Unfortunately work has me away and I will miss this seasons already shortened race season.
I race a 150xc. I’ll never go back to a big bore. It makes you work for it, but it is awesome. It feels like riding a mountain bike compared to my 4t I got off of.
Yo zach. Get you a yz 250x for harescrambles. I love mine and it comes with a 2 stage valving stack on stock suspension. You would love the power of it and I always felt you were best on a 250 two stroke
Hey ZachAtk1 ! Idk if anyone has told you before, but you have a great voice to listen to. You should totally do voice over for like an audiobook or cartoon show! Really anything would sound good with you talking over it! Also amazing ridding!
How do you like the Beta compared to your KTM? Im looking for a 2 stroke and trying to decide between the Beta 300 and KTM 300 xc-w. I dont race but I do single track out west. The TPI is attractive as I ride numerous altitude changes (AZ in winter, CO in the summer). Keep making your great videos, your a great rider and I love watching you easily navigate some of those tough trails!
So glad you are back racing, love the Harescramble and Hard Enduro videos. What are the chances you found the 8mm for you front brake!!! Awesome video.
I'm guessing you didnt really jam with the yz250f? My money's on getting a 150sx, and converting it to woods with a 18' rear, tank, some suspension, and calling it a day!
I went to a 125cc and love it! Thinking the next move will be something newer with TPI & E-Start, likely another 125cc because I don’t really want or need any more power! I think there are lots of great bikes out there but TM is the only one producing an E-Start, TPI, 125cc, it’s just that i much prefer a steel-type frame over aluminum! Sherco and Beta also have some great bikes, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the next generation of models from any one of these manufacturers may include TPI on their E-Start 125cc, i do have a slight bias after my carbureted bike bogged on a jump!
Hey zach, I think you should work on starts, your very fast and a smooth rider, think about where you should be positioned for the corner ahead, and you do realize how crucial the start is, you used to be awesome at stars man! Giver hell and good luck for the next one. Love the vids been watching for years
GasGas EC 200 is probably the best bike I've ever ridden. I've got lowered (because of hills and I'm only 5' 8") and softened suspension. But that thing pulls up steep hills from nothing unlike any big bore. Just to help give to an idea.
Hi Zack, always enjoy your vids, thank you! Since you asked: You seemed very fast on your 250’s, even though you were using Mx bikes. How about a 2020 KTM 250xcf? Otherwise if you’re going to stick in the open class you will be less disadvantaged on a 350xcf vs the 300. Ps I ride a 300 (but I’m an old guy)...
Love your videos! I was working tech, when you went through to the line for the start, then went down right after the finish area to pit my son, I also had tools ready and a 8 and 10 ml in my pocket! Also have a 2013 Ktm150sx for sale if interested.
Get your kid a super-small fanny pack off ebay -- you can get them the size of just a leather wallet -- and put a small driver with an 8,10, and 12m sockets, a small screwdriver and a mini-channel lock in it. It will weight all of three pounds, and your kid is now prepared to be self-sufficient on the trail if anything stupid like this happens. Teach him where the key fasteners are and he'll thank you the next time he's a mile or more away from you and fixes his own bike instead of not-finishing with a small-but-significant problem like this that can take a racer effectively out of the race.
That was Ben Wright on the small bore that passed you. he was also the one on the ground on the first lap that james steiner jr said get help for. Looked like he was okay when he went by!
I was racing with a yz250fx 2016 in harescrambles, did great in the hard stuff but not in the fast stuff. Since the federation is going more in a ''harecrambles'' direction than hard enduro, i sold my FX for a yz250F 2019 and it's just amazing. Eating bumps like crazy and turning on a dime. I know you had a YZF before but it was the best 2F bike in 2019. One thing i understood pretty fast is that going from an enduro model to a full cross model is not easy. Gotta consider the suspension, gears and the clutch. Going from a 6 speed to a 5 was a pain in the ass at the begining but now i'm doing great with the clutch control. If you go from a bike to another your brain needs to adapt, it takes time and practice, this is why i don't think having multiple bikes TO RACE is a good idea. My 2 cents here.
I would love for you to do a small bore, definitely nothing bigger than a 150, preferably a 125 Yamaha, or Sherco, KTM, Husky start stock then slowly trick it out to the max.
I have a 2000 yz250 with 2011 yz450f suspension tuned for me and woods, 11oz flywheel weight, G2 throttle, gnarly pipe, rekluse, Lectron, tusk wheels, 18” shinko Cheater tire and all the woods stuff. It’s amazing. Looking for a stabilizer now for it. Only thing I wish it had electric start but can’t complain.
Might be worth getting an xray on the thumb. That ligament can pop off easy and take bone with it. You won't get back to full strength unless you get surgery... been there.
