I wonder if it is yamalube. It smells terrible. . Maxima all day everyday. Yamalube would be my 2nd choice just cause it's very good quality. Otherwise it's castor 927 for the open stuff super m for tech. Lower Flashpoint burns off quicker in all that part throttle riding

I've ridden 5MOH 4 times. It's actually 7.9 miles and tons of fun, but brutal at the same time. The stairs/ledges section is insane, but Cody beyotch slapped 5MOH! Spider is my favorite and best trail in MOAB for leisure and scenery.
I can't believe Yamaha hasn't put an electric start on this bike yet. Love the drone camera picture-in-picture. Really shows the speed you are going compared to the helmet camera.
Yamaha have barely developed their 2t’s over the last 20 years. An electric start is way more than anything they’ve done in that time. They are still selling the bikes with minimal investment. They don’t seem to want to spend a dime more than they have to on them. 4t is their focus.
Excited to see you rip the YZ. I had a 2006 with some work done and it was a handful! Plenty of power to be had and the suspension should be easy to figure out. Nice ride!

Your finesse with all that power to keep the rear tire hooked and not spinning is fun to watch.🔥🔥 And just to point out for the haters, how many times did he kick start it? How many times did he stall it? How many times did he get stuck on a hill he couldn't kick it on?😂
@codywebb2 A squish gap correction makes a huge difference in low end torque on the 250x. It also helps stabilize jetting at elevation and temp changes. Apex is the go to, or have the stock one cut at Coops offroad performance in Malpeton UT.
@@williamcrotts7054 🤣🤣 1 million % his bike has a carb. He talks about jetting it leaner in the video. You don't jet fuel injection.🤣 Carbs are as good or better than FI for dirt bikes.

A friend if mine, Dick Brass from Helper, Utah, originally laid out and marked the 5 MOH trail (actually closer to 8 miles long) back in the 1980s. He used a Yamaha TT600 to accomplish the job.
I did 5MOH on a YZ250X. Slightly more modified than that one. Did pretty good. Although I stalled it on the crux and fell backwards, and smashed my clutch finger. Been wanting to go back and try it on my Beta 300RR
We're in a really interesting paradigm. With the japanese manifactures, kicking up their offroad models. Kawasaki says they want to win enduro gp. Now yamaha with you and kaleb. Red moto with holcombe. Also fantic becoming available in canada as of February 2025. Really intersting with the decline of the orange mafia.

I have ridden it several times and get off trail and have to stop look around and back track each time. Also i was looking for where you rode the crux but didn't notice it, you must have just went over it so fast it looked like the rest of the trail. Maybe it was the part where you said "that section is big"
I did 5 MOH two years ago solo on a TTR 125LE . Probably didn't break any speed records but it was my first year riding and I did most of it clean with mousse tires and a rekluse clutch 😅 I honestly think 25 years of professional rock climbing helped!

I ride every day no matter what the weather. I've been doing the nitrile liner inside my ski gloves for years. Absolutely kills the wind and makes a great first layer of insulation. It definitely holds the heat
Good watch Cody you guys over there are so lucky to have shit like that to ride i,m in aus and we have similar terrain but your not aloud to do anything on it unless your black . I have confidence you could do it quicker when not as cold and if you can remember the millions of lines ha ha. I made a track that I called 60 mins of hell and after a year of riding it got it down to 32minutes its nutts . Thumbs up from down under 👍✌😁
As far as fun goes.. it's extremely hard to beat a yz 250. Cr 500 are fun but short shifting cause they have no over Rev. Plus, numb hands get old. Visceral fun the 500. All around, good time, yz 250 all day every day. If you're gonna seriously race mx, then modern 4t.
I can't wait to see you dial the suspension and hitlis installed, maybe more good stuff...I know you need to be sponcered but please Smart Carb pay this man and get this yz barking.Question ;does any one use heated grips in the winter races?

We start from a locked and secure Private lot. Want to keep this as secret as possible. Far northeast coast New England. wrong side of country for now . But it is the best practice for Penn. and Tenn.
Pretty sure Cody could make a new 5moh record time on a 350 lb adventure bike. Heard a lot of clutch being used on the 250 and imagined he was missing the power band of the old Sherco 300 but of course he can't say. They should do a new competition for this ride of how many foot dabs used over the whole course for which Cody might have set a new record again.

Usually ridden with at least a few guys that should never even be on a bike - add a few anchors to your riding group and then try and set a record. Nice ride...
Impressive... i did it for the first time, in some spots the trail markers where n't the besr and i missed some turns. Took me and my friends over 3 hours. 🙄
People have alot of gripes about the yz compared to the Ktm group, but I don’t mind it not having fuel injection or E start or not being 300. I think the suspension is great, my biggest complaint in the yz is the engine vibes. Does the xc gear mako help the feeling?
No HITLIS power valve kit installed, right? For those that don't know, she'll be electric smooth bc the power-valve opens along with the RPM at the moment, not all at once like stock.
Switched from an orange bike to a 2024 YZ250X earlier this year and trying to smooth it out - does it make sense to combine the Hitlist with the APEX XC dome?
@@brad8705 the pattern is that users start selling off the mods, because the power is increased everywhere and the top is extended. No one is saying it makes more peak power, just to be clear. My buddy had his dealer install on his YZ before pickup. He thinks the YZ is better all around for his area in Virginia.

It has to be FI. You can't do that with a carb.

Great Stuff , great riding and that Yz 2 stroke sound is timeless real 2 stroke sound if that makes sense . Torque as well for 250 i found

No HITLIS power valve kit installed, right? For those that don't know, she'll be electric smooth bc the power-valve opens along with the RPM at the moment, not all at once like stock.

Switched from an orange bike to a 2024 YZ250X earlier this year and trying to smooth it out - does it make sense to combine the Hitlist with the APEX XC dome?
@@brad8705 the pattern is that users start selling off the mods, because the power is increased everywhere and the top is extended. No one is saying it makes more peak power, just to be clear. My buddy had his dealer install on his YZ before pickup. He thinks the YZ is better all around for his area in Virginia.
