The truth about EVs is dawning on people and the pushback has begun.
@@user-se6ue2pv7pyet you're here on every video commenting. You need to grow up.
@@user-se6ue2pv7p Care to explain? Examples?
lee just to let you know, my little renault captur hybrid is at 55 mpg with a 180 ev range.
An electric car that tries to sound like an ICE car is like vegetarian food that is pretending to be a hamburger. IMHO
The only excuse is that pedestrians and such might find the sound of an ICE vehicle more normal and a better warning.
There’s a classic science fiction story called The Marching Morons in which the fake noise of a powerful engine is a common feature of ordinary cars. 1951, by C. M. Kornbluth. It’s meant to deceive the vast majority of drivers into thinking that their underpowered, relatively safe cars are like performance cars, and as the average human intelligence has plummeted it usually works.
@iscadean3607
Er-the Nissan Leaf EV has black leather-appointed seats.
I wonder if Nissan have sourced renewable cows?
That's what I can never understand about veggis and vegans don't like eating dead animals but want the taste of said dead animal bit like ev fanatics 😂
“You are a disgrace to the EV community.” That was my favourite of all Lee’s hate mail. It says EVERYTHING about the mindset of the EV cult. 🤣
@iscadean3607It’s a cultish reaction.
Australia is great....shame about the government.
And just about every other institution in the country
and the police
ALSO SHAME HOW PEOPLE ACCEPT THE IMPOSSIBLE AND LUDICRIS climate madness for one thing.
Yeah get jabbed or lose your job doesn’t sit well with me
So sad to say that Canada is the same because of our government 😢
Cheers from western Canada 🍻
The EV wall is quickly approaching. EV's will never replace the convenience and beauty of classic ICE vehicles.
Or only if they put chinese nuclear batteries size of shoe box which would be enough for 400000+km before replace/recharge
And we can add that no matter the car you will buy, it will be the exact same technology : Porsche, Audi, Tesla, BYD .. it's basically electric motors, a huge screen and a huge battery. What is the advantage of buying a Porsche while you will be able to get the same technology, maybe even better, in a Tesla ? Except for the design of these cars, there will be nothing to differentiate them.
While until now, what really made the difference was the engine, the sound of it, its power, etc
All cars will lose their soul... And I'm ready to bet many renowned brands will disappear in this insanity.
@@eldontyrellcorp Driving a Tesla is good for your soul. And if you think EV's don't have plenty to distinguish them, and lots of personality, you've clearly never driven an EV.
@@Mr11ESSE111so only if they use things that don't exist?
@@Tom-dt4ic. You keep telling yourself that.
They are offering very cheap electric for EV owners in UK who have driveway charging , but the same prices are not available to “just about managing” pensioners ..
So if there is free electric at night , why can’t grandad have a smart switch to bring his freezing house up to 18 degrees .. it’s discriminatory.
Its an easy to remove carrot to force the EV on to the sheeple.
@@sahhullit WILL be removed once everyone is charging at night.
Excellent point.
@TNT-projects
Is it free or is it very cheap, you mention both in your post? Confusing!
Regardless , it's available to anyone who wants to get that tarrif.
Including pensioners.
Where do you get your information from, the Daily Conspiracy?
@@DwaynePipes theres plenty of information online on electricity tariffs.
You only have to look for it.
I was in the US last year and drove from Memphis to Las Vegas . If we did the drive in an EV we would have had to drive where the chargers were not where we wanted to go . We went down parts or route 66 and never saw a charger .Also drove through death valley no chargers in there .
A new reason for calling it death valley.
Glad you survived it. In the summer without enough water and a car breakdown the situation can turn serious very quickly.
the electric gid in Australia is NOT CAPABLE full stop
Nor the UK, not without a lot of extra power stations being built.
@@simonburling3762 Not in nearly all any industrialised nations.
@@iainw5081 Nor Norway. Wait, they already have 90% EV adoption. Ok they're small. But wait, China's at 50% adoption and climbing, and their grid is doing fine......Nevermind.
@@Tom-dt4ic Norway has hydroelectric power. China has much lower rates of vehicle ownership per capita.
@@Tom-dt4ic China builds over 100 coal fired power stations every year. Not very green is it?
Fast charge your EV in 30 minutes!
If there is noone else at the charging station. If it is rush hour, wait for two hours to get to a charger, then charge it for another two hours because the grid is not big enough to support all the EVs charging at the same time🤣
Clown world!
@iscadean3607 - why do I have to wait while my car is being filled? Park my car next to the pump, pop the cap and go and do what I want while the attendant fills it. After I'm finished, return to my car, pay the attendant and leave. *Every* fuel station in my country (and the neighbouring countries, where I drive) has attendants.
Before you make any silly comment about not every place has bowser attendants, I'll counter with not every charging station has facilities, not every charging station has the capability to "fill" a car in 12 minutes and not every charging station is operational. Not to mention the fact that quickly filling my diesel tank doesn't impact it's future range nor capacity.
@@maifantasia3650and how many different apps you have to download to use it and hopefully you have good enough signal strength
@iscadean3607 80%. 25%. 12 minutes. ALL of these are complete nonsense. To compare gasoline pumping to charging you HAVE to compare volume (gallons/litres) to kWh (kilowatt hours). Apples-to-apples; stored energy-to-stored energy.
How many kWh are you getting in 12 minutes? How many gallons are the ICE vehicles getting in 12 minutes? Now you have a valid comparison.
Otherwise, just put a single 18650 in your EV and a 200 gallon gas tank in your car. "Look! I can reach 100% in 5 minutes and you took 10 minutes to fill your tank! See how much better EV's are!"
@@BlisterBang partially good point. If @iscadean3607 referring to Ioniq 5, fast charge times still not good enough in cold weather until solid state battery is a reality. To your question, Zeekr 007 new LFP battery 75kwh with 10-80% in claimed 15mins is 52.5 kwh; to generalize 100kwh=~15.3 gallons or ~8 gallon fuel equivalent. Reason point is 'partially' good is BEV efficiency is much better than gas. So 'stored energy' is misleading given ICEV is 14-26% Tank to Wheel efficiency vs 80-94% for BEV.
This matters as many countries import their oil and/or gas, so they do not have control of their costs and transportation independence. Obviously countries with big militaries have... Sway over others, but that doesn't come cheap as reflected in national debts. Further the fossil fuel industry received $1.3t direct + $5.7t indirect ($7 trillion) per IMF estimates in subsidies. Is gasoline more convenient for consumers, absolutely assuming gas stations & petrochemical infrastructure built over generations hum along. Are all these oil costs reflected at the pump, no. Is sticking only with oil and waiting for the next price crisis a strategically sound strategy?
@@RoyBoy2019 The purpose of my post was to directly point out the nonsense in iscadeans3607's post. There is no end to the results you can get - either way - by taking into account what you do with the stored energy that you are adding to your system (your car, in this case), what that energy costs, the infrastructure needed, or the time/trouble you go through to get it. Make your ICE more efficient -> ICE gets better; build a 500 kW solar array on your 10 acre estate -> BEV gets better. There is no end to the back-and-forth possibilities or the silly personal examples you can find online, but it is incumbent on those of us with knowledge and no hidden agenda to keep the playing field level.
The consumers should decide what they drive, not Governments.

@@brucemitchell5637 funny how people who've had evs and can admit openly they made a huge mistake unlike his e tron buddy who wouldn't even go on camera 😂 tells you the majority who buy evs the same ones who got the stab
Went to Toyota yesterday, they said their biggest seller six years running was and remains the RAV4 hybrid. A week earlier my electric window failed in my i30. Was quoted $1,000 to replace. Sourced an aftermarket part for $72.50 (Hyundai genuine $335) and changed it myself in 2 hours (you can't do that in a Tesla. Instinctively I feel the EV take up rate will plateau this year partly attributable to the financial crisis but also the negative press will dominate for the foreseeable.

@@CosmicSeeker69 2024 might be a lull, but given automakers are hiring Tesla execs and signing up to NACS, something tells me 2025 will be higher BEV sales vs 2023.
The US with peak subsidy sits around 8% market penetration. There will be no ICE sales deadline. Easiest way to win votes will to say you’ll revoke any remit as the date gets closer. Whiny evangelists simply aren’t the majority and politicians will pander for power. History tells us that much,
Nice to see Lee bringing out his serious side, having watched his trials and tribulations with his car, with another likeminded person.
What a genuinely brilliant interview, enjoyed every moment. No doubt the fully charged show will be getting out their magnifying glass to comment.
That’s one biased show for sure lol. Would love to see their reaction
Bryan Ferry of Roxi Music was a car collector and havd a chat with his eco activist son in the 90s about selling his cars and get EVs, his son said dont do that, the most poluting car he had would be a fraction of an EVs.
Brilliant chat Lee. Really enjoyed it. 🥰☀️🥰xxx
It was just like watching my grandfather getting into his MG back in the day.
It was like me getting isn’t my daughters ford escort 🤪🤣
Welcome to Australia Lee.
Excellent chat guys. Rational, common sense and "down to earth". We need more of this. The "Hyundai Chronic", brilliant and how true. Hopefully, you've saved many people from wasting their money and anxiety on senseless EV's. Well done!
The reason Morag spends so much time commenting on EV's is she's always in a queue at a charge point with hours on her hands to browse TH-cam.
😂
😆
What a great episode - terrific interview !!🎉
Thank you - it was great fun!
Two of my favourite TH-camrs in one interview, both of whom offer great humour, but served up with with fantastic insight and analysis. Keep up the great work guys!

Latest is LOTUS trashing
I hired an EV van for a month.
I gave it back after 2 weeks.
Too short ranged.
Too long to recharge.
Sporadic public charging.
Expensive public charging.
It was ok to drive but at 50 miles per charge, it was no way a replacement for my diesel van.
It cost me time, money and reputation due to having to cancel appointments due to range and charging issues.
Cant pay for a charge with cash.
My phone isn't a smart phone.
Like it being said.. It about control.
The EV is a stepping stone to removing personal transport from the people.
All my customers that have an EV on lease are waiting for the lease to end so they can go back to ICE cars.
The only guy I know who is happy with his EV is a retired fellow.
He hardly uses it. He drives about 2000 miles per year.
Forty minutes of excellent TH-cam content. Thank you MacMaster and MGUY. Been waiting for this ever since Lee announced he was going to Australia.
In the vein of Lee's food reviews it's a 10+ from me!
Nice to see the WWW bringing people together rather than forcing them apart. Great video.
I have an Audi A6 Biturbo diesel. Best car I have owned. Reliable, fast, economical. 1000km to a tank.
I will never buy an Electric car. I can’t stand Tesla’s. Sorry Tesla owners. They are so smug.
Great from which year? Mileage? If I might be so forward?
The best use car for electric is for short trips around the city where you can charge at home for 8c/kwh.
@@suad01not so. The best car for around town is 20 yr old 4 cylinder.
4k purchase price, cheap insurance and minimal maintenance costs. What's not to like about that? Unless you're ego won't allow you to do so.
@@robertfonovic3551 The warm up time of ICE motors is when the engine wear happens. That, and the crappier fuel economy for that period (closed loop). Electric is superior in that regard. I own a hybrid and its noticeable even in that.
Great chat. Thankyou guys for the cup of common sense.
So pleased to see this interview. These two Gents doing their bit promoting commonsense in a Scary Clown World!
This is special! I have followed both channels for some time, watch the adds, leave likes and leave comments. You are doing God's work gentlemen! EVs are EVil and they must be banned from our roads now and forever.
Fantastic interview, boys. Lee should definitely move to Sydney. 😁
When you’re older car stops and the man of the house puts points and condenser in the distributor and off you go again, then that’s a human achievement and the man of the house is happy
Cracking chat gents, really enjoyed seeing you both together. Best wishes!
You helped to bring back fond memories of heeling and toeing about in my MGA. 'Freedom in more ways than one. Keep up the fine work and thanks!
Excellent! Well done!! Voices of truth and logic!! I hope people to wake up and totally reject EVs.
Well knock me over with a feather! This was fantastic! Thanks for the collab. I hope you have an opportunity to do more.
Brilliant Chat! Loved the old MG Midget (had one the same color). Also good to catch a glimpse of a bit of Sidney, and setting in on the chat drove home how much I love and miss Australia. Keep on with the good content!
I think AUS got the AH Sprite not the Midget as we already had the MGB.
FINALLY, this was the video I was waiting for ever since Macmaster said he was going to Sydney and we hard the news of MGUY and MacMaster meeting.
At first I felt a bit miffed that Lee wanted to park the camera and us to talk to Simon, but it was all to give us these golden nuggets in this video I presume.
Yeah, great stuff!
Great episode Simon, so much sense spoken between the two of you. Lee really seems to be enjoying his time in Australia, I don't think I've seen him smile and laugh so much.
Agree if you want a Porsche, it has to be a 911 turbo S. A friend has sold two in recent years for more than he paid for them. Superb car with price appreciation rather than depreciation. Now has a Jaguar project 7. Rare and beautiful.
I've become very fond of these two chaps...
Glad this meet up happened! Ex UK of 24 years and lived 200m from you for 10 years. Support your content!
You correctly brought up EVangelists and their new-found religion of EVs.
"When you remove the doubt from science it becomes a religion.

Boy. Gorgeous MG. I had a 1977 Triumph Spitfire.
Yes, these channels have been informative. I would never buy an EV but if anyone ever offered one free, I would know better than to accept.
Oh this was brilliant video! Two of my favourite real-world TH-camrs! As always very good conversation and topics. I wish I could escape the UK - I would go back to my native South Africa but that’s really not a good place anymore. Keep up the amazing work both of you.
Come to Australia, a lot of your former countrymen have made the move here.😊
Great interview guys!
That MG does 100 smiles per hour.... Even when it is parked. Unlike all these nonsense EVs.😐
Good to watch. I agree with your stance against ev’s . The internal combustion engine has developed into an efficient and frugal on fuel form of transport. To suddenly ditch it wastes all of the research and development so far, the development will continue if allowed. Ev’s are part of the future, not the future.
Awesome interview! plus I love the little MG !
What a great interview/discussion. Why do we never have sensible people like this in government?
Lord Mc Master!
I love this fellow!
Try planning your journey through rural Australia where your lucky to get a town every 100km. When is the charger at the dig tree goung in?
I had a feeling this video was coming, I enjoyed it and didn’t want it to end👍
As an American I subscribe to both your channels & Geoff buys cars too!
Watching Lee trying to get in/out of your MG reminded me of the American TH-camr/car reviewer “Doug Demuro”(about the same height) getting into the back seats of various 2 door cars🤣
People have made compilation videos 😂
Look forward to that challenge across Australia.
Excellent video it’s great to see two blokes on the same page 👍🇬🇧
Oh yes. That Midget is absolutely purring.
The older ICE engines without all the modern limiters just sound glorious. Just make everyone smile. They feel good. They sound good. They are amazing.
I’m glad to hear him praise the 911.I bought a new 2007 targa 4S,I’m not a car lover ,but I’ve had just about everything you can imagine, but I’m up to 20,000 miles and I still enjoy the simplicity and fun of the Porsche and I’m glad to hear people still like them.
now in the uk they are trying to stop you fixing your old ice car
Good luck to them. They work for us so we have every right to tell them to go take a long walk off a short plank.
Good luck with that one!
How exactly? A bit hard to police that. Most will just say get f'd and do it anyway. It's called looking after your investment.
I owned a 1967 Austin Healey 3000 Mk3, one of the last off the line before production was halted. It purred from its 6 cylinder inline as well, and was a delight to drive with its short throw four speed with overdrive. My wife hated it because it was too responsive (nervous, she said). So I sold the car and six months later my wife was gone. I should have sold the wife and kept the car. Tragic chain of events, particularly given what this car would be worth today. Thanks for your great informative videos. This video's interview with the MacMaster was particularly enjoyable.
I’m used to seeing Mguy talk by himself, but he is really good at interviewing people, well done MGUY.
As someone that lives in Perth I can relate to the cyclist issue. I used to live in Sydney and didn't have a high opinion of cyclists there, its worse after living in Perth considering the amount of bike lanes around the inner city...
Why is you have to go to two Brits an Aussie and a transplanted Brit living in Australia to get a balanced account on EV's. We don't have an equivalent here in the States. At least not on TH-cam. Good seeing you guys getting together for chats. Informative and entertaining. Love the MG, the Classic Roadster.
the previous model was MUCH more of a car (in it's time)
Thoroughly enjoyed the Lee interview. Robin West Sussex England
Excellent chat good questions, great answers, brilliant rapport and food for thought. Very entertaining.
I have a 2003 BMW Z4 I bought new, and it has been a great car. We plan on driving it until we can't drive anymore. Nowadays, I can buy any part I need for it from Amazon for a fraction of what the shop wants and can do any repair it needs myself. Makes no sense to get rid of it for an EV for any reason. Won't be forced into something I don't want. I also have a 1979 E150 Ford van I bought brand new and it's a daily driver also. Just swapped the original 300ci six cylinder for a built 460ci V-8 with an E4OD transmission. It's a beast. Fast and loud.
You nailed it perfectly.
Nobody will, can or is going to make you get rid of your ICE car.
Nobody can force you to buy an EV that you don't want.
Even if battery technology somehow manages to produce a car that out performs, out prices and out ranges ICE cars.
You don't have to get or even drive one, ever.
@@DwaynePipes don't expect one to be cheaper or out range an ICE vehicle in my life time. Plus, they will never equal the fun of driving a manual transmission car or the enjoyment for some people of listening to an engine through a low restriction exhaust. Different strokes for different folks as they say. It's your money, drive what excites you. Don't take personal choice out of it.
Thank you for this entertaining, informative and unbiased interview.
Lee bring the family over for a holiday and they will want to live here and become Aussies.😊
Excellent Interview Simon. Madge is beautiful.. What an awsome challenge, cant wait for Lee's Return. you should do a similar interview with mr cadogan. your good at this.. keep it up. thanks.
Good show, getting the truth out is always a good cause, and the EV is just a lie. The MacMaster is awesome. Thanks MGUY.
The Master has lost UK GBP £65,000 on his EV Porsche in UK already. Yet he is smiling, amazing character
I'm easing myself in to the EV world, just bought a Mustang Mach 1 V8, only does 280miles to one fill up, so i have range anxiety! drastically reduces if you bury your right foot in the carpet, not cheap to run or insure, everybody wants to stop and chat about it (which you have to do when you have an EV if only to burn time!!) only problem I'm having is its sounds bloody amazing.
What a fantastic discussion. Extremely well produced BTW.
Great interview, loved MacMaster talking about all his phases of cars, some very good laughs, and watching him get in and out of the MG❤

Hey @MGUY great chat. Much love and respect from the crossroads of America
Off street parking. That is where the 15 min cities come from. Though it still is unrealistic. As a proces operator on a coal fired plant, living 85 km away from my work, I cant just take my stuff and move. I have to buy a house as well..
Especially here in the Netherlands, where there is a big shortage of available housing.
It will only drive up the price of a house. Specially for people like me, because there is a lot of people, working around Rotterdam.
Great discussion. Well worth watching. Thanks to both of you.
You guys are great and so are all the other realists. I subscribe to both of you and Geoff. It is good to see you both discussing the vehicles you drive and the EV's that World Governments are trying to force upon us.
One area that does concern me that you may have covered on your respective channels, but I have not seen is to do with the weight of EV's concerning damage to roads and bridges. I think this is one of the key failures of EV's especially Buses and Trucks. As we know all road bridges have maximum tonnages that they can carry. What will happen as these ever increasing, in weight, EV Trucks continue to pound the roads and bridges?
Love your videos.
"In your best interests" That's a scary phrase! 😮
An excellent interview/video! We live in a 4 story block of flats, surrounded by Tower blocks in London. I dread the idea of getting an EV as charging would be a NIGHTMARE! We need a car as my partner is disabled. Plus we love the freedom our car gives us. EV should be a choice AND not forced on us! Keep up the great work you do in sharing your videos.
Awesome stuff! I've been following all of you guys! Do the Nullarbor. I've driven it a few times in very old valiants and a ts16 Renault back in the 80s was a fun trip. Go ice or go home!
I am sure if Morag has an EV, she really does have more agg than she needs.
Wow MGUY you have hit the big time with the legend macmaster ! Welcome to Oz 😎😎😎
Great talk, guys. You are doing a great service to the ordinary working class/ middle class car buyers by telling the truth about real-world ownership of an EV. If I was being very, VERY generous to EVs, the only real-world benefit of EVs is the investment in battery technology that capitalism creates . I know that it's taking a lot more time than is being pushed by start-up companies and the stories we see on utube, but they will happen even though it's at the cost of the early EV adopters like yourself Lee.
Lee, an early EV adopter?
He might be a lot of things but that he's not!
Thanks for letting me join in on a very interesting and entertaining conversation.
Hi Mguy and Lee, it good to see Lee interviewed for a change, looking forward to seeing more of your videos. Great video btw.

Great seeing you two together, keep up the good work.
So looking forwards to your Challenge guessing about 3000miles drive, wow.
Enjoyed watching that.
Few years back i commented on just how many charging point were needed, thousands of them.
when there are only 900 petrol stations in the uk.
I took flack from the eco warriors for days, over that comment on C4 news media platform.
The all stopped when the news report was, the government is trying to get 50,000 new charging points installed in the next 12 months as the existing 50,000 were not enough!
It is just ridiculous, 100,000 charging points for just 2% of the cars on the road, when the other 98% of cars only need 900 places to refuel and cannot do that at home.
Thank you Lee and Simon, i sure enjoyed your interview, with true advise on slectric cars, they are useless here in Australia with our vast distances and lack of charging stations in the bush away from our built up areas 🤔 nsw
