For someone that had so little, such a lot of money is something that you actually don't even understand. Coming from a middle-low class in Brazil, to ok class in Spain (and Im white, he's not its harder), imagine for someone like Tyson in a society like the US.

Agreed. I hope we, as a people, can take/learn something from this beautiful soul. He's as honest as anyone can be, considering the circumstances of his career arc. He's a man that came from nothing, earned everything, and lost (his wealth) once more. He batted for the cycle and I think that warrants study. Unless he, himself, shuns everyone around him, he deserves to be interviewed. If he has something to say, we can learn from heeding his experiences.
Wow, he seems so different and humble and down to Earth. And I can see that he's trying to be a different person from the one he showed in boxing. That takes guts and I can tell it's hard as fuck. Props mister Mike.
Funnily enough, even when boxing he has shown this side of him, asking if is opponent was okay after a fight and giving him a quick hug if it was a good fight. He's even helped opponents up off the mat when the referee has called a TKO. He went off the rails after the death of Cus D'Amato, his original trainer. The first stabilising figure in his life who provided him with disciplne died when he was at his peak. I find it sad that (even though Mike Tyson has done some reprehensible things) most people remember the bad side of him. He had a ridiculously shiity childhood and went from literally robbing houses and people at the age of thirteen to world champion thanks in large part to Cus D'Amato and his passing crushed Tyson mentally.
I met & had the Chance to Talk to Mike back in the 80's at Gleason' Gym in Brooklyn, when he was Training for the Spink's fight, Mike was great to talk to, Really down to earth, Regular type of a guy, To everyone who he talked to & was not afraid to give any Autographs, For all who asked him for them & he & Keven would let you take Photo's with them if you asked them also etc.
2:06 "That's my ego" The fact he knows that now, shows how far he has come and how broken he once was. I feel for him with the way people keep harassing him about his past and feeding that ego.
Mike Tyson's definitely one of the most SINCERE personalities (and I don't mean celebrities, I mean...people 100 years from now will be in the books) there are! You can't knock on a guy who makes his kinda mistakes, admits it and just leave the past in the past. Much love to you Iron Mike!
This is the first decent interviewer I've ever seen treat Tyson like an adult, and Tyson actually comes off much wiser and brighter than previously thought. Thanks buddy
He had a AWESOME time. That's what he did with the money. Exotic cars and animals, massive mansions and hot women, top shelf alcohol and high grade narcotics, the best food and finest jewelry, 'A' list celebrity guest at wild parties...... Tyson was a fucking Superstar! When you grow up with nothing you already know how to survive with nothing, but when you grow up with everything the thought of having nothing is terrifying. Tyson didn't have that fear. Tyson just done what any person who came from nothing and gained everything would do..... He enjoyed every fucking aspect of it. How many people in this world who came from nothing will actually make and spend more than $400,000,000 on doing whatever they want to do? I think the host of the interview didn't quite understand why not still having $400,000,000 in the bank wasn't a big deal to Tyson and how relaxed he was about what he bought and how much it cost. But it's impossible to understand how little money actually means useless you grew up with nothing. All you need is enough money for food and shelter.....anything more than that is there to be spent on having fun...and this is what Tyson did. No matter how much he made and lost, Tyson still has more today then he had growing up as a kid and if he had never found boxing. Mike Tyson is real guy who came from nothing and, through hard work mixed with natural talent and good teachers, became the baddest man of the planet and possibly one of the greatest athletes of all time and I salute you.
To me, apart from Mohamad Ali, Mike Tyson is the second greatest fighter in the history. I salute Mike for being truthful, humble, and transformed himself to a great role model to many people today. Proud of you Mike! You Rock!!!

People think Mayweather has money, which he does, but Tyson had the potential to be a billionaire if he could have keep his head straight and surrounded himself with better people. The money Tyson made was crazy.
Mike Tyson is truly one of the most intelligent and insightful minds of our generation. He is an inspiring presence. He has succeeded at being the definitive best at every thing he's done. Good, bad and indifferent. Hearing him speak is a true blessing.
What does he have to do ? But talk about how he fucked up, no afence to him but Mayweather is the only boxer who pimped the system he owns everything, you can learn from both imo.
The first shoes that I ever wore were named Tyson. My uncle gave them to me and he was a boxer in the 90s and a big big fan of Tyson. Growing up with him I just liked Tyson. Later, when I grew up and heard bad episodes of Tyson, I started judging him. Today when I look at Tyson I feel he lived a very good life of such a high and down. Really the experiences must have made him so wise...wish to meet him someday and listen to life.
What got you? His honesty'His humility? his grace and softspokenness. His meek demeanor inspite of being a ferocious and phisically mighty human? His insightfulness into the human condition and heart? Or could it also be that he was the best most awesome and entertaining beast of a boxer that ever lived?
Wow,Mike Tyson Is a changed honest man and tells it like it is.Hes living middle class now and he said hes more happy with less money and being with his kids. What a great champ to realize that life is more important than money and giving his love to his kids which it shows in his kids eyes. His kids adore him and love him so much that I can say now,Mike Tyson is the greatest dad to his kids. He did great after boxing and put the past behind him and moved forward and give his kids the love and attention he never had growing up but Custdomato came in and shown Tyson love and now his tradition passed to his kids. Mike Tyson,Your awesome and a fantastic role model to your kids. We all love you so much Mike. Your an inspiration to all of us in living life to its fullest.
Mike is the most controversial, entertaining athlete of all time. He was a great athlete and clearly had potential to be the greatest ever. His name will never be forgotten.
If mike had the same peace of mind when he was fighting as he has now he would have been unstoppable. But the ferocity and anger he unleashed in the ring wouldn`t have been there.. a really complexed individual who will go down in boxing history as one of the all time greats regardless of what he did outside of the ring. Respect.
Mike is literally enlightened. He is so natural, real and not seeking anymore which frees him up to be so soulful and a beautiful being to be around. He doesn’t need to be perfect or prove anything to anyone anymore. He is just being and enjoying life. 💜 Real wisdom here.
Tyson is a lot of things, stupid was never one of them. This interview shows how articulate he could be with the right person interviewing him. Graham Bensinger is one of the best.
I know I'm just echoing what's already been said but your interview style is on point, especially for someone like Mike Tyson who can often feel under threat when asked about his past in a thoughtless manner. You, however, got the maximum amount of honest replies from him without sounding too pushy, even in the follow up questions you asked when he hadn't quite answered your initial question. And you did it all while being super relaxed. I really enjoyed that. Thank you :)
When I listen to Mike speak, I hear the voice of sincerity and complete honesty in what he tells you. Mike wears no mask. Mike is the real deal. And when it comes to lessons in life, I think Mike is a guru in that department. There is much I can learn from Mike. I have a lot of respect and admiration for Mike Tyson.
Well thats the thing. MT is uneasy with these question but he faces it now like a true champ. He does try to hide it but accept the things he has done and move forward with better decisions.
People make fun of Graham for his interviewing style, but he gets people to open up like nobody else. I love watching his interviews, even if I'm not that interested in the person he is interviewing.
Seen a lot of interviews with Mike Tyson over the decades, but none where he is as calm and relaxed as he is here. Almost like he feels Graham is truly listening and respects him. And that leads to really interesting answers. Great job, loved your interview with the late Niki Lauda as well.
My respect for Mike Tyson has really changed. Some really down to earth introspective. He's come a long way. Certainly more than just dropping a guy in the 1st round.
With that amount of money one could easily think that no matter how much they spend it will never end, but in reality it runs out as quickly as an average salary does. It's just a diffrent scale.
1:04 as he says "I just want to read through some of these figures" mike holds a smile and looks down. Mike knows what he spent his money on and he probably had the best time of his life doing it too.
spending the money was compansation for his pain, as we all do, the painbody....its needs fuell.... spending money, other nonsense, stripping it all away you see the pain and damage....Tyson comes clean, and the true person with good and bad sides apears, cool to see he became more himself imo...
I'm saying. A broken soul like him who never had a nickel. when he had it it was to feed his ego and personally financially for his fam. he wasted so much on drugs alone it tore him apart.
I think Tyson was taken advantage of by Don King, needless to say. When you have someone who comes from a poor and hard-scrabble environment like Tyson did and who had no formal education and at a very young age, he becomes rich and famous and has a bunch of yes-men around him and people like Don King in his ear, of course, he would have gone crazy with his money and have been excessively and irresponsibly living his life. He was an adult and of course, he has to take responsibility for his own actions, which he does in the interview and he acknowledges his mistakes but at the same time, I do think that Tyson would have benefited from having a better support system in place when he was young and from having people around him who truly cared about him and who had his best interests at heart when he was in his prime as a boxer. Tyson didn't know how to properly manage and budget his money-which is something that everyone, I don`t care if you have a full-time professional career, or if you work several minimum-wage part-time jobs to make ends meet or if you`re a multi-millionaire or a multi-billionaire, could benefit from knowing how to do. If he had done that like other athletes(and the way many successful multi-millionaire and multi-billionaire CEOS and businessmen and women around the world do), I`m sure he would have been one of the richest retired athletes in the world. But we live and learn and it would appear that Tyson has.
Go ahead and blame Don King but Mike spent most of that money. He could be a billionaire but obvi he does not have the money skills. And that is okay. He achieved more than any of us has or will. Nobody knows everything. He grew up in the gutter. He did his best.

He's a man that came from nothing, earned everything, and lost (his wealth) once more. He batted for the cycle and I think that warrants study. Unless he, himself, shuns everyone around him, he deserves to be interviewed. If he has something to say, we can learn from heeding his experiences.
Well, he kinda had to agree to do the interview!!!!
@John Smith exactly
Says someone watching & commenting on a video.
People can change. He is an example of this. And I honestly think we are blessed to have him.
Mike comes across as one of the most intellegent athletes to me. You can tell internally he is like a philosopher.
Ya? Like when he “broke his back” you know all spinal and stuff lol!
The toad helped
"Couldn't fathom it.."

"That's my ego"
The fact he knows that now, shows how far he has come and how broken he once was.
Totally agree!
I have been watching all these Mike Tyson interviews. Man, I am impressed. The man I expected the least to have words of wisdom has blown me away.

This is the first decent interviewer I've ever seen treat Tyson like an adult, and Tyson actually comes off much wiser and brighter than previously thought. Thanks buddy
+taylor trash Thanks, Taylor!
Paper blood what a brilliant way to explain it. He was very generous
Nailed it with your comment. Respect to you man.

To me, apart from Mohamad Ali, Mike Tyson is the second greatest fighter in the history. I salute Mike for being truthful, humble, and transformed himself to a great role model to many people today. Proud of you Mike! You Rock!!!
Tyson > Ali
@@DannyNoLove17 Only strength wise.
Yes he does rock
Thoughtful, self-critical, and more importantly, moving forward. Tyson is a champ in more ways than one.
He honestly speaks pretty well. He's humble and he can make fun of himself alot now. Which is so much fun to see for a guy who in his prime was literally the scariest guy on earth.
Look at Tyson's body language when Graham was reading the list of his spending. Poor guy looked broken and ashamed
He seems more happy now then In the 80s-90s. He finally is doing much more then what he can and really changed his figure and personality
He had 400M more than billions of people. "Poor guy"? Please.
KVPD all gone
Dale Barrera everyone is different when theyre young and old.
two different personalities
Max Firosi i think part of it is his religion. so he is ashamed of wasting money on bullshit when in islam you are supposed to help others who arent doing well
also fact that he has family now so he thinks about them
One thing about Graham. He knew what questioned needed to be asked, he knew when to push the stop button not to keep fishing on answers, and he knew most of the stories of his guests. I cant stop watching his interviews
Glad you're enjoying the interviews! -AD

+saz fraz I 2nd that, I stumbled across this channel like 4 days back and can't seem to stop watching his interviews
+Graham Bensinger Can you interview Lupe Fiasco or the people from Tribe Called Quest?
The fact that you have to say that probably means that the questions were pushy.
Tyson looked ready to punch this guy. not cool, man.

I've always liked Graham's interviews. His so professional, sensitive, and respectful. You can see that when he is interviewing Mike Tyson.
Mike never had anyone to teach him how to plan ahead. Mixed in with horrible golddigging friends you got a recipe for financial desteuction
Destruction...spell check
saint jack he’s one of the few who have opened up about it
Mike got plenty of money now
The first rule with money, run everyone from around you because people only see an ATM machine. And everyone have great ideas that your money will finance.
Iron Mike, I never knew he was so wise and articulate. What a journey his life has been.
This man truly lived! Cheers mike.. Nothing to be ashamed of brother. Your a legend and deserved all your leisure time.
“You managed to get 50 million in debt” mike: “yeah that what amazing”
It was because the bank gave up on a lot of it, like 20 million dollars because he was paying it back so slow and just scratched off the rest of his debt essentially

I believe the passing of Cus D Amato effected his life choices in a big way.

People think Mayweather has money, which he does, but Tyson had the potential to be a billionaire if he could have keep his head straight and surrounded himself with better people.
The money Tyson made was crazy.
It wasn't the money. He was never brought up to handle money properly. It was the evil people around him that drove him crazy.
+tom11zz884 absolutely agree
and, the way he pee peed the money down the drain is crazier.
+RicoakaRemidi He made 100 mil because it's 2016. If Ali and Tyson were around today Mayweather would be a nobody for real

The interview was respectful

Mike Tyson is truly one of the most intelligent and insightful minds of our generation. He is an inspiring presence. He has succeeded at being the definitive best at every thing he's done. Good, bad and indifferent. Hearing him speak is a true blessing.
I have so much but I did so little, now I have so little but I am able to do so much.
Something Mayweather can learn from.
What does he have to do ? But talk about how he fucked up, no afence to him but Mayweather is the only boxer who pimped the system he owns everything, you can learn from both imo.
Mayweather the marathon runner 🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃
Mayweather is a clown
Mayweather who??????
Not a mayweather fan, but have you seen him train? He still trains like he's broke. Money never done anything to his performance, just attitude.
God, I think Mike Tyson is my favourite person on the planet ✌

Or could it also be that he was the best most awesome and entertaining beast of a boxer that ever lived?
Me too I don't want hear a vegative about Tyson
He blew millions of dollars and had a great time while he was young, nothing wrong with that. It's not like he's broke and working at McDonald's now.

Tyson is a lot of things, stupid was never one of them. This interview shows how articulate he could be with the right person interviewing him. Graham Bensinger is one of the best.
tyson possess a sweet manner of the humble personality in the speech.
+William Canty I appreciate you watching, William.
That interviewer looked nervous AF!!!! Like if I ask him ONE wrong question he might turn in to the Old Mike Tyson....

+Simon Patterson yeah I really like his outlook and positive thought process. Strive for the future don't dwell on the past.
Man he's matured vastly. Tyson, more than just a fighter, he has strength of heart!
With that amount of money one could easily think that no matter how much they spend it will never end, but in reality it runs out as quickly as an average salary does. It's just a diffrent scale.
I love Humble Mike Tyson
wow i love what mike said about money. when he had so much he did so little. and when he has so little now he could so much. thats really cool
1:04 as he says "I just want to read through some of these figures" mike holds a smile and looks down. Mike knows what he spent his money on and he probably had the best time of his life doing it too.
Mike sounds like he's a lot more humble.
totally agree!
spending the money was compansation for his pain, as we all do, the painbody....its needs fuell.... spending money, other nonsense, stripping it all away you see the pain and damage....Tyson comes clean, and the true person with good and bad sides apears, cool to see he became more himself imo...

He’s the most honest man, ask him anything and he will look you in the eye and speak the total truth.
You act like he blew it all...he was reckless, but Don King stole A LOT of that shyt!!!!
I'm saying. A broken soul like him who never had a nickel. when he had it it was to feed his ego and personally financially for his fam. he wasted so much on drugs alone it tore him apart.
Brave interviewer. I suspect Don King ended up with a huge chunk of Tyson's fortune.
George Donaldson "Brave" isn't the word I would use to describe this toolbag.....
George Donaldson yup tyson had about 300 million and that fuck don king took most of it..
Tyson had a good support system, whether Tyson knows it or not... it was just really, really, really short lived.
Mr. Tyson, you spoke to me, even tho' I was no world champion at anything.
But you've gotten back up after all that life has thrown at you, and you're grateful for today and its blessings,
and you

Mike just needed some love to fill the hole in his soul. Poor guy! I love you Mike.
