The Story So Far AND Counterparts releasing new music in one week? Pure Noise are really dominating the "I'm not sure I want to be alive, so I'll make angry songs with elaborate metaphors" genre.... (I like both bands)
Released six years ago, was recommended to me barely 2 years ago. This song and "Tragedy" live rent-free in my head and can pull me out of some emotionally tough shit every time. There's wisdom and agency in anger, we just have to bend it toward growth and discard what decays us. Looking forward to the next album whenever it drops. Stay awesome.
thehousemaderobot Counterparts I think just keep getting better and better, they have found a balance between heaviness and melody that can't be beat in my opinion
thehousemaderobot Capsize played in my basement last summer and put on one of the best shows I think I have ever seen. Counterparts are seriously killing it right now on the same level as Capsize. Beautiful.
Usually I just roll with the punches on bands and member changes because that’s the way it goes but I will make the exception and say that this era was fucking prime time for counterparts
I had never listened to these guys before but last night i saw them with Parkway Drive and became a fan. they put on a great show. keep up the good work!
This is like the 7th time I've listened to this and I'm still amazed at how good it is. Counterparts is absolutely killing it with every release they put out.
It's great to see a band that can manage to stay true to their roots, yet progress in new directions at the same time. With The Current Will Carry Us and The Difference Between Hell and Home behind them, I think this new album is going to make Counterparts really big this summer.
First counterparts song I've ever heard. I'm an avid Periphery, Northlane, Amity Affliction and Polyphia fan but man this could make it to the top of the list quite easily. Far out I wanna hear the full album now.
've grown accustom to losing sleep Sweep me off my feet, dig your nails into my wounds and pull A lucid dream, where my chest will collapse from the weight of a fictitious ghost Tear through me, sacrifice me to your sea With broken arms I'm left to carry my shell with no help from the current Lifeless, I am dragging me down Hollow, I'm left to fend for myself Forget everything that you've come to know We are not meant for much but to carry our own misery Is there a God cursing every step that I take? Or have I been forced to commit myself to the dirt? We're chasing the light in the darkest of graves But the fortunate ones know to wait until mourning Be still. Serenity blesses us in waves and with eyes like mountains, we're drawn to the brow Leave this life behind and take the next step in the right direction Stare at the sky, and offer yourself to circumstance Be the burn Burn me alive
Damn, Brendan's voice improved so much since "Prophets"! And this band can't do anything wrong. Still one of my favorite bands, and can't wait to see you guys once live. Thanks for creating music that helps me get throught my struggles, sadness and even hapiness.
Counterparts is the only band i get really exited about when new stuff is coming out. With the most other bands i listen i feel content with the stuff i know and i'm not really in need for more. It's like i feel really connected to this band. It's like we all share the pain of Brendan and he is an good example of what expanded consciousness about this world does to a mind. And it is so well illustrated that we can all relate to it. In the beginning you have the feeling of having the world figured out and wanting to change it. (and believing we can) In the second album he gets more realisation, while depression is coming up he is still trying to combat it with positivity. But with "reflections" as kinda an announcement for the following work, in which he embraces that living with this kind of knowledge is just really hard. It's like we all care about him, because we are all in the same boat. It's not just "music" anymore. This is a story being written. No other singer could ever replace him, it would be like someone would try to finish a book that isn't started by himself. This is a band with character. Counterparts just feels real. I'm so exited about what this new album is going to tell and i hope we all find peace no matter how hard it could seem sometimes.
+18bovende I disagree with my former self.. once again.. Wtf was i talking.. : "expanded consiousness" < screw me.. an own Knowlegde of good and evil was what i was truly talking about. I've come to really serious discovery. And i'm glad Brendan is asking himself the same question in this song. It's clear to me now why he is going through this depression, but i also know He will forgive him. Take the Bible symbolic, not litterally, and serious things will reveal itself to you.. I recommed "The Bible Project" on youtube, Love you Brendan i know you will be good.
Макс Ладанов The owner of the label Tony is the biggest scum bag in the world. He pretty much fucks every last band he signs an then pretty much when they want out of a contract early he tells them that he owns them.
Petit nain des Îles I've never heard one negative story come from any band that has been signed to Pure Noise. Front Porch Step did some fucked up shit, but that was on his own terms and had nothing to do with the label. I'm curious to any negative stories you have?
It's always scary for a band to release new music, as you have to draw in new listeners while simultaneously keeping your old ones. Counterparts, I'm pretty sure you've done it. This song is fantastic.
I grew up in Toronto and just listened to Monument off their upcoming EP first song I've ever given a gander too, instantaneously a favourite band. These guys fucking shred. Remind me of Structures and Touche Amore, beautiful music, hits close to home.
This will definitely be one of my top-three-albums this year-along with I Am Alive In Everything I Touch and We Are Harlot. I hope they release "Collapse" before the album drops.

(I like both bands)
Brendan's vocals have improved so much since Prophets he really has gotten so much better
Paul Keefe everything has improved in this band since Prophets.
True that son
Paul Keefe I actually liked them a lot in every album, but thats just my unpopular opinion
HardcoreMonsterR no, I also like every album. Just the evolution from Prophets to now is amazing, they really perfected their sound.
In my opinion prophets was the best album, there style has indeed changed, but there sound is amazing either way.
Released six years ago, was recommended to me barely 2 years ago. This song and "Tragedy" live rent-free in my head and can pull me out of some emotionally tough shit every time. There's wisdom and agency in anger, we just have to bend it toward growth and discard what decays us.

These guys and Capsize are killing it right now
thehousemaderobot and Hundredth too
tjisatotalsellout yup
thehousemaderobot Counterparts I think just keep getting better and better, they have found a balance between heaviness and melody that can't be beat in my opinion
I agree but Hundredth is my favorite of the 3
thehousemaderobot Capsize played in my basement last summer and put on one of the best shows I think I have ever seen. Counterparts are seriously killing it right now on the same level as Capsize. Beautiful.
Beautiful and heavy, that's the way I like it
Zedelio cala-te
Just like your women

This is like the 7th time I've listened to this and I'm still amazed at how good it is. Counterparts is absolutely killing it with every release they put out.

Holy shit that was so beautiful and heavy at the same time. Gonna preorder right now
The chills after hearing the part “Lifeless, I am dragging me down. Hollow, I’m left to fend for myself.”
This is one of the reason why i still listen hardcore music after all those years, so much passion, so many good bands..
The outro is so calming.. love it
It's great to see a band that can manage to stay true to their roots, yet progress in new directions at the same time. With The Current Will Carry Us and The Difference Between Hell and Home behind them, I think this new album is going to make Counterparts really big this summer.
I can't believe how awesome counterparts is.
First counterparts song I've ever heard. I'm an avid Periphery, Northlane, Amity Affliction and Polyphia fan but man this could make it to the top of the list quite easily. Far out I wanna hear the full album now.
Listen to old stuff too man!
Hershey Holman Don't worry I will be :')
I'm a big Northlane fan too, how do you like their new stuff?
Polyphia
Hershey Holman I'm slightly disappointed because the "Singularity"Northlane was the Northlane I got in to but we've still yet to hear the full album
I swear this band can do no wrong. Every release is better than the last.
Heavy-hitting and lyrically beautiful. Well done Counterparts.
They should be thankful that they have the ability to burn.
Paige Johnson cuz this is straight fire! amirite?
Paige Johnson not enough people get this lmfao
Brenden is the funniest dude to follow on Twitter lmao
Adrian Zamora u should be thankful he even has a Twitter
DeathByDirt you're right fam I'm not thankful enough, that's savage
That talking part reminded me of some old school metal core shit. Mad cool.
This album gave closure to a lot of songs from previous albums. I love the references to previous works. Genius.
Been jamming It's Prevail's Perdition like mad last few months. This will be amazing! So happy I saw them live!
Absoulutely painfully beautiful!
This new album isn't going to be fire, it's going to be molten lava.
Nate Coombs MOLTEN LAVA, THATS THE THING KEEP PLAYING THAT RIFF BECAUSE WE GOTTA GET IT ON TONIGHTTTAAAA
Devon Nutty wot
Nate Coombs isn't lava just molten rock?
willempiekip I'm not sure but it's hotter than fire lol
Nate Coombs Top KEK m8
Thank you counterparts
WolvesThrone for serving us with a complete set of solid albums
've grown accustom to losing sleep
Sweep me off my feet, dig your nails into my wounds and pull
A lucid dream, where my chest will collapse from the weight of a fictitious ghost
Tear through me, sacrifice me to your sea
With broken arms I'm left to carry my shell with no help from the current
Lifeless, I am dragging me down
Hollow, I'm left to fend for myself
Forget everything that you've come to know
We are not meant for much but to carry our own misery
Is there a God cursing every step that I take?
Or have I been forced to commit myself to the dirt?
We're chasing the light in the darkest of graves
But the fortunate ones know to wait until mourning
Be still. Serenity blesses us in waves and
with eyes like mountains, we're drawn to the brow
Leave this life behind and take the next step in the right direction
Stare at the sky, and offer yourself to circumstance
Be the burn
Burn me alive
Can't stop listening to this, and by chance when I'm not it's playing in my mind.
Everything about this band defines music
Oh.
Hell.

Charlie's Drum Corner SOOOO. We meet again. ahah
Yes sir! Glad you to see you enjoying this banger as well
Of course Sir!
Why do limeys call songs bangers? Fuckin dumb
I’m starting to really love this band
On this album, the way this depressing song transitions into the more uplifting Tragedy is stellar.
Counterparts. I love you
I've never hit a replay button so fucking quickly.
"Lifeless, I am dragging me down."
Love love love this band.
FAM this is LIT
just saw this band in a video. Love it!!!!
This is pure gold. Can't wait to see you guys next month !
I wasn't sure if I could like these guys anymore than I already did. Now I am sure, I can, and I do.
Holy shit this is underrated.
the lyric placement is on point, with the content emotionally driven.
Classic but new Counterparts, lovely
Damn, Brendan's voice improved so much since "Prophets"! And this band can't do anything wrong. Still one of my favorite bands, and can't wait to see you guys once live. Thanks for creating music that helps me get throught my struggles, sadness and even hapiness.
I want to walk down the aisle to the outro
I knew there was something missing, I found it in your music. I can't thank you enough you guys !
Absolutely genius
You can tell when a band is Canadian. They're just on a whole other level
HOLY FUCK. HOLY FUCKING FUCK.
It used to be "the current will carry us" now it's "I'm left to carry myself with no help from the current"
The show in Vienna was so awesome! My favorite band since years!
these guys will never disappoint
Love this song
I can't get over how good this is
Outro always makes me tear up
The feel when a home town band makes it big
Guitarist with the Vices 5 pannel, killer hat choice. And song ofcource.
I'm not crying of happiness, no.
Had to buy their album before the song even finished playing. so damn good.
Forever releasing the best music
Gonna be the best album of 2015.
Listening to this album on repeat for a whole week and I am still not even close to satiated! Amazing band, eh?!
I am so excited for their new album, I honestly got chills listening to this. I can already tell their new album is gonna be sO good!
So dope. Can't wait for the album
I heard of Counterparts when they toured with Parkway Drive. Been a fan ever since. Bummed I never got to see that luscious hair live.
Yet again they have me in tears

I will always love this band
So in love with this. Perfect
I was today years old when I found this band. Its been a good day
I love the melody along with the heaviness perfect use of dissonance
So glad they're not on Victory anymore
Metalcore Promotions Guys, explain me, why Victory is bad?
Макс Ладанов basically Victory are money whores and are fake. A good example of this is the whole ADTR case against them.
Макс Ладанов The owner of the label Tony is the biggest scum bag in the world. He pretty much fucks every last band he signs an then pretty much when they want out of a contract early he tells them that he owns them.
Metalcore Promotions well, Pure Noise aren't clean either
Petit nain des Îles I've never heard one negative story come from any band that has been signed to Pure Noise. Front Porch Step did some fucked up shit, but that was on his own terms and had nothing to do with the label. I'm curious to any negative stories you have?

That ending...
I'm never disappointed with these dudes.
Came here from Being As An Ocean's new video! \m/ They bring me to such great bands!
They were killin it at Chain Reaction Anaheim. Seriously looking forward for the new album.

Always so good
Love this so much, would love to see them Live.
So good. I cannot wait for July.
Another beast tune from Counterparts. They smashed the shit out of download. Dunno how anybody can dislike this.
DEAR GOD. IT HAS STARTED.
Just saw them last night... killer
Fuckkk, this was 4 years ago
They can literally do no wrong.
This album is gonna kick ass
Love the ending
