I met Rose twice. What an amazing talent and such an absurd loss.

Shit! Good finger work, and what a bummer that he died so young. Wiki says apparent heart attack, whatever that means. I miss John, would've given my life for his when he died, wasn't in a good place. Still, they both live on thanks to this blokes channel. Thanks.

Drive a truck in Phila. Know Kensington well. Sweet perfection.

How does he do that on Sundogs? It's all just an acoustic guitar right? Sounds like he's rubbing something on the strings to get that resonant feedbacky sound.

some other JR vids show him doing this technique, but that doesn't really make it clear what he's using. A miniature violin bow would be an equivalent.

it’s a technique he called “bowing” whereby you take a steel bar slide (the kind used for lap steel playing) and slide it back and forth across the harmonic section of the strings on a guitar and all the knicks and grooves in the slide cause these amazing noises and feedback. I’ve done it myself and it’s incredible and minimalist
