    After seeing your video on the WiFi range extender, I jumped over to Amazon to order one. Seems like a great deal for $16.00. The little Tello sure is fun to fly and the fact that the video feed is so much better is so much better with the extender makes it worth the price alone. I appreciate all of your training videos and find them very helpful in flying all my drone fleet.

      Yes, to fly outside, the extender is a must. The key with the extender used in the video the ease in setting it up. The other extender made by Xiaomi is so difficult and seems impossible to set up. I'm planning to make another video so you can fly higher, possibly 100 m instead of just 10m! Thanks for your nice comments about my videos. Do you own other drones?

      Yes I fly the Mavic Pro and Spark

      I received the range extender today and did the setup procedure. I now understand that after the initial setup and configuration, you never have to repeat it again and just use the second abbreviated part of your video. Thanks again, it does appear with the extender the video feed to my iPhone is a lot clearer.

      I was/am so happy to find this TH-cam video. I tried to make it harder than you made it as I tried to follow directions in the box and when the blinking connector lights didn’t fully turn green I was stumped. I should have turned to a TH-cam first. I must admit,I tried the other Chinese product and personally, I couldn’t get it to work. Thank you for taking the time to show us your skill with this. I am subscribed to your channel but didn’t see this before. I fly the Tello,Spark,MAVIC Pro and Phantom 3S. I do like to vary flying these machine with the exception of PS3 which is my starter drone and is larger. Again,thanks for a very informative video.

    I agreed with you the xiaomi Mi is not only difficult to setup but when it is up and running the app you have to install on your phone first to make it work it is always running in the background and it wants to have access to your data files ,photos to everything also very fast my phone battery was drained, I didn't like all that so I uninstall it off my phone and got this new extender it works like a champ. Thank for the video I am sure there will be lots of people switching to this new Meross repeater and trashiing the xiomi Mi. Tanks again.

    Great video! Thank you for taking the time to post this. I too started with the Xaomi Mi and should have gotten the hint when I had to select mainland China for the set up. I spent two hours trying to get it configured and finally did, but while I was doing that I watched your video and ordered the MRE220 you describe. I got it today and it is in fact as simple as you show. I was connected and flying in 10 minutes. I always use videos to help me figure things out and assist in my buying decisions. Too often I get what I need and just move on. I just wanted to take the time to thank you and tell you how much I am glad that you too did not just move on, but took the time to post this. Dave,

    Does connecting directly to the Tello's WiFi signal, and not from the Repeater while it is on, give you the benefit of an extended range? It is my understanding that you have to connect to the Tello's WiFi signal through the Repeater to get an extended range. Otherwise, being connected directly to the Tello's WiFi, would it not only give you its usual range?

    • @D7dronetech
      @D7dronetech  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The repeater gives you the extended range

    Hey man I wanted to ask you about a video I saw,there was a guy who connected two wifi extenders.
    The way he did it was using on otg cable to connect the wifi extender to the tello and basically mounted on top of it.
    And he also used a wifi extender from his position.
    Im a rookie and unable to understand how did he do it can you break it down for me.
    Thank you for your time in advance.

    Watched your instructional video. It almost looks to easy. I too, have the Xaomi Mi extender, which I can't get to work. Question will the Meross Wireless Repeater work with when using the Gamesir T1d controller?

    • @D7dronetech
      @D7dronetech  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      23ambrose1 Yes, they won’t interfere with each other. That controller works off of Bluetooth, not WiFi.

      whats the point of extending range indoors??

    • @keitharoo1962
      @keitharoo1962 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@skindoc786 Flying from one end of a house to the other, through doors and around walls, can kill the wifi signal to the drone. Having an extender indoors about halfway across my house keeps constant contact with my drone no matter where I fly it in the house.

    Hey there great video I got this extender the other day but a few seconds after connecting it to the drone it just shows a red light? I followed all your instructions do you know if I’m doing something wrong or if they have prevented this now in some way ?

    • @D7dronetech
      @D7dronetech  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Matt H It should work just fine. Easy way to verify is to disconnect the extender and see if Tello app screen goes blank. If it does, you’ll know it’s working.

      @matth8205 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dragon7 thanks I’ll try it again and see if it stays connected. Once it’s configured to the Tello I don’t need to do that every time I fly do I?

      Dragon7 hi,
      I ended up buying the same repeater and tried it in the house. I had no problem configuring it and connecting to the Tello, but after flying the Tello for a few minutes the repeater’s indicator light turned red. Is this normal or does it indicate that it’s disconnected and that the Tello is solely relying on its own signal? Thanks....Sam

    • @D7dronetech
      @D7dronetech  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Test if it’s connected with the extender by unplugging the extender from the powerbank (of course with the Tello on the ground). If the video on the app goes blank, then you know it was connected to the extender.

    • @samavella8831
      @samavella8831 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dragon7 Thanks, I’ll give ghost s try. If the Tello is still connected, I’ll reset the repeater and try to reconfigure it again with the Tello.
      Cheers...Sam

    Thanks for posting this! I have a question. I bought this range extender and went to through the easy process of setting it up. I am having one issue tho. I follow your instructions starting at the 2 minute mark of your video an I get the solid green light. But after I have been flying for about 30 seconds the light turns red. Im only flying a few feet from me. Does this mean I'm not connected to the extender if the light turns red? I'm still getting the video feed to my phone. thanks an advance for any info you might have!

    • @D7dronetech
      @D7dronetech  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Eric Tobias Even with the red light, extender should be working fine. Try detaching the extender from the usb power bank and if your device screen goes blank then you’ll know in fact that repeater was working and connected.

    • @peternorman677
      @peternorman677 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @user-jg3ly3fr6d
      @user-jg3ly3fr6d 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not a website. It's the link that goes into the repeater, which is connected to your phone like you said. You won't be able to go on the internet but you'll be able to go to that "site"/your repeater's configuration.

      Altitude is limited by the Tello app, which is 10m. However, there are apps that allow you to increase that limit to 100m.

      SinPenaNiGl0ria search “Tello drone” in the App Store there are two apps that will override the stock 10 meters, but this won’t work if you don’t use a WiFi repeater (the range of your phone alone will not be enough to reach 10 meters +)

      I did read the earlier reply that noted the light turned red......same as mine. I did turn the repeater of a got a black screen for about 2 seconds....the the app started working again.....did the app just reconnect to the Tello directly?

    • @D7dronetech
      @D7dronetech  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      John & Cindy Henderson It probably is in fact connected via the extender. Disconnect the extender from the usb power and see if the Tello app screen goes blank. If it does, you’ll know it was working.

    • @4Hendo
      @4Hendo 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dragon7 ...I did turn it off and the app screen went black for 2 seconds than came back on. I was wondering if it was working then reconnected without it ....since it was off.
      Your thoughts?

    • @samavella8831
      @samavella8831 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine does the same thing, but the question is “Is this normal behaviour?” To me, the device going from green to red would indicate that it’s disconnected and not a normal behaviour!
      Thoughts/comments from those of who are experiencing the same behaviour are appreciated.
