I really appreciate the way you actually took a big scoop of every dish in a small piece of roti. In so many other tasting videos they just take a huge piece of naan and just dip the tip in a curry, calling it sauce, and act like they tasted the whole dish - and I'm yelling through my screen, you didn't even taste the vegetable or meat piece in that curry. @@executorben9800 nope, all the spices were traditionally grown in punjab or surrounding areas. there is a reason, most punjabi food is mild,compared to others in india. degi mirch and saffron from kashmir, red pepper from rajasthan/sindh. black pepper aam/aamchur from sindh. cumin, cardamom, cinnamon, kadi pata, locally grown. south indian spices did not travel/were expensive due to transportation. these traditional dishes predate india as a country.

And its a very simple light dish. Mostly had when someone falls sick and needs fast recovery or made for elderly people who cant eat a lot of spicy and oily foods. So if you didnt know that beforehand, you got that spot on!

22:35 I'm surprised at how easily you came up with the right explaination for that dish. Its called Khichdi. Youre right its made with Lentils (Daal) and rice and a little salt. Thats it. And its a very simple light dish. Mostly had when someone falls sick and needs fast recovery or made for elderly people who cant eat a lot of spicy and oily foods. So if you didnt know that beforehand, you got that spot on!

It is amazing how freely they eat Indian food. Hotel food, Dhaba food, streetside cafes, anywhere and eveywhere, without hesitation. They must have a strong stomach to be able to digest Indian spicy food. I love watching them eat with such pleasure and appreciation.
