  • After a brief absence due to the pandemic shutdowns we're back with a beauty, the Longines Spirit Prestige Edition in 40mm.
    I've handled this watch before, but this is the first time I get to spend some intimate time with it in the studio, and I must say this watch is gorgeous in the metal and is an incredible value buy. What you're getting with this watch is the heritage of Longines combined with excellent craftsmanship at a bargain price.
    The design of the Longines Spirit is simple but executed flawlessly, it's a model that's grabbing the attention of collectors around the globe.

    Nice shot of you wearing the watch and holding it at the same time. It worked.

    I tried this on at an AD and absolutely loved it, unfortunately I didn't have the funds but its definitely on my list to purchase when funds are available.

    Very nice watch, I’ve worn a Longines Master collection for 12 years now and although Ive now bought Omega and Grand Seiko I still love Longines, the spirit, heritage and legend diver watches are fantastic. I’m very tempted by the 42mm version of this or maybe an Oris big crown pro pilot.

      Definitely some excellent value coming from Longines, we have a review coming up on the Legend Diver as well. Cheers

      Hi, I have both the Oris BC ProPilot and the Spirit and I’ll tell you that they are miles away one from each other. The Spirit is way way better in every way possible, cosc movement, case finishing, heritage, etc.
      Cheers

    Great video. Really showed the watch well with multiple views on wrist. Wish the lugs were 1 or 2 mm shorter. Though I understand it is meant to project presence. A fine watch and I'm considering it. I love the legibility and case the most. A one watch collection.

      Thanks very much! I can agree with you on shorter lugs.

      50mm. I'd recommend trying it on before buying, because i see many photos of people wearing this watch and it looks very awkward on them.

      I had a try today with my 6.5inch wrist and I would say it looks good. But I am considering to get a leather strap rather than the stainless steel one...

    Strongly considering this watch for my 7” wrist. Just wondering how you think it stacks up against the Bell and Ross BRV192.

    • @Watchreviewblog
      @Watchreviewblog  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s a fair comparison, it would probably come down to personal preference. I prefer the brand heritage from Longines, and I find this model a touch more interesting than the BRV192.

      @@Watchreviewblog - many thanks for your response! I'm leaning toward the Longines. Your video did a good job showing the finishing and details which photos don't appear to do justice.

    Why buy IWC when you can buy this for 1/3 the price?!?

      IWC is better than Longines. That's why.

    Tried the 40mm on a few weeks ago. With my 8 inch wrist it felt way to small. They didn't have the 42mm so wasn't able to try that one. On leather it also felt super light, which to me felt cheap. But I guess a lot of people like light watches so that might be a plus for some. Personally i prefer heavier watches. Overall to me this watch looks better on camera than it did in real life so I would highly suggest first trying it on before buying without seeing it in real life first.

    • @Watchreviewblog
      @Watchreviewblog  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Always good advice to try on before buying. The 42mm would definitely be suited better for your wrist size. Cheers

      @@Watchreviewblog absolutely mate. With that said, i tried on the 40 with silver dial on leather. I guess that if i tried on the 42 with black dial on a steel bracelet, I probably would have been way more enthusiastic. Maybe I'll go back to try that one. After all, it is a handsome watch for a decent price.

      I tried one on too, a 40mm black and the white one. Its nice but didnt sell me on it. The crown felt really smooth but visually it needed a little something more for my taste. I tried a captain cook and actually liked that better.

    Is this better than a bb58? Having trouble choosing.

    • @Watchreviewblog
      @Watchreviewblog  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Better is totally subjective on the individual. For me personally I’m not a huge bb58 fan simply because the Sub is my dive watch of choice. I’d highly recommend trying both on and going with your gut feeling, the bb58 is quite different to this one since it’s a diver. Cheers

      I would say this is the best pilot watch you can buy, it's better than the iwc that costs over double.

    Bad part is that the quick release system cost 250€ or you have to buy Prestige Edition for 600€ more
