    I have the blue version and absolutely love it. It's a great do anything watch. The dial is the star of the show - so much 3 dimensionality. Movement is incredible for the money. It's a long lug to lug so won't suit all wrists but sits great on my large wrists. Agree on the caseback - wish I could see the movement!

    The lugs are a little long for a 40mm - but I think you get a lot of watch for the price. Can only recommend - just because Longines is part of the powerful Swatch Company, this price with all these advantages is possible (COSC, antimagnetic, long power reserve, robust, water-restistance, etc.)

    It's the best value for money watch on the market. The entire spirit collection as a whole is tbh.

    I was well on the way to buying this, but split pins on the links? WTF? What were they thinking when San Martin do screw links as standard for a seventh of the price 😳?

    I agree but an open back case would bump up the price. So I'll take the compromise and am happy more people will be able to afford and enjoy these beautiful watches.

    I'm not very into display casebacks, but I would prefer something with a bit more effort, perhaps something with a relief or impression.
    This is essentially a refined tool watch that's somewhere between a field watch and an aviator piece so the design choices make perfect sense to me, the red tipped seconds hand and long lugs are perfect. It seems some don't quite get it and think it would look better if it were more like a datejust... it's good to get some variety in the mix, entry or not this is a solid watch that stands on its own.

    Can u please do a video comparing the new king seikos to a grand seiko or the limited release king seikos, with an emphasis on finishing, because I feel that's where there value lies despite having an OK movment (6r). Would be a sick video comparing them.

    Good looking watch, but 55 mm lug to lug is way too long for a 40mm case. The 37mm Spirit is much more wearable for wrists under 7 inches. I agree with you on all your points for needed improvement, Bruce.

    The things that truly annoys me about these Longines watches is that they are overpriced by about double and they insist on oddball lug widths-- 19mm for the 37, 21 mm for this one. It's a conscious choice to be user unfriendly.
    At this price point there's a lot of competition. It's a beautiful, great watch with an amazing movement, but it's someone else's beautiful, great watch with an amazing movement.

    • @BruceWilliams

    • @KabobHope
      @KabobHope 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BruceWilliams Look at some of the better offerings from Seiko, Hamilton, Mido, Oris. It's got a great movement, but there is a lot of competition at this price point and I think a lot people are less than enthusiastic about a 21 lug. I think your video points out the watch's strengths and does a good job with that, but this isn't for me.

    • @BruceWilliams
      @BruceWilliams  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@KabobHope I don't think there is a watch from your listings that has this level of finish, dial details, wr, and cosc anti magnetic movement for anywhere close to 1k.
