    Madonna has to be the most diverse artist in music history. Each album she released sounded like a completely different artist than the last one. She gets so much hatred for pushing buttons and bringing uncomfortable topics to her videos/shows but she has inspired probably more artists and changed the face of pop music during her career than almost any other artist.

    • @TheOldskoolVideoGamer
      @TheOldskoolVideoGamer 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's a toss-up between her and David Bowie for most diverse I would say. They both have such a deep and varied catalog, she was very much inspired by him. Either way, I love them both.

      @@rocketrabble6737 Okay I can appreciate that viewpoint, do I agree? in part. Her work having body and depth is debatable, but her innovation is always present and it was that I was referencing. To me, she made eclectic, catchy, danceable music with great videos which there is a place for besides the more thoughtful stuff I listen to. The other artist I mentioned is undeniable though, I'm not budging on Bowie. More body from a female artist = Kate Bush.
      Cheers mate

    Huge controversy back in 1989 over the scene of her dancing in front of a field of burning KKK crosses. Pepsi pulled their endorsement of her. Some felt it wasn’t her place to address the issue. Also, the woman singing was gospel singer, Sandra Crouch

      It's crazy because in France, the reaction was not the same and this title was number one for few weeks... We don't have the same history, of course... This video was on TV every day and it was a big success. It's also my favorite song of her, she was so beautiful and I hope not the one she became after. You see so many messages from your history we didn't live, fortunately. Black and white is the same in France, but it becomes a problem now, not for the same reasons. You should all make peace because you built the USA all together, just remind that... And your couple is hope for America, you're both beautiful. Love from France 🇫🇷😘

    My favorite Madonna song is "La Isla Bonita". She's a huge icon and massive influence, especially on Gen X. I don't know who I would have been without her. I feel like you should go the other way next. "Erotica"* was her other massive controversial song/video. It's definitely a "banger".

      A little controversial? No disrespect intended but Pepsi dropped her from a multi -million dollar deal because of this song and video. The Catholic church condemned her on many occasions from her message in PaPa don't preach, her support of the LGBT community to interracial relationships. She was a firestarter in the 80's and mid 90's. She knew how to push buttons and did so st the start of her career well into the early 2000's. Many pop stars have been inspired by her either directly or indirectly.

Madonna was barely seven years into her career here, and now she’s been going for 40 years - still releasing new music, and every time she goes back out on tour she is the biggest grossing artist of that year. Great reaction. For an early Madonna song try “Into The Groove” or “Material Girl” next!

      Rico and Chrys would like these because they’re very 80s sounding.

    I love my hard rock, but this song is my guilty pleasure. Madonna took a lot of heat from this video back in the day for the imagery, burning crosses and stigmata marks on her hands.

    I remember when I first heard Madonna. I snuck into a bar (underage) & her 1st single"Borderline", which was just released, came on the jukebox.

    Madonna was there for BLM b4 BLM was founded... and Prince written and performed all guitar on Liike A prayer and remixes of. Madonna confronted United States racism (KKK) head on. She is fearless and thus why she became the Queen of Pop... She may be older now, but that should never take away from what she has done for the world through her ar!!

      yes she did and this the the meaning of the song along with other bold expressions of distain for opressive institutions. She is actually a genius. lets give her the flowers she deserves.

    Madonna was doing the most back in the day! She & Prince were always having videos banned from MTV after the first airing! I love watching you young folks watch these videos/listen to that amazing music that shaped my generation!

    She's very versatile with her looks and sounds. To hear mid 80s club sound do "Get into the Groove" or for a slow jam
    do "Crazy for You". Both feature her classic 80s look.
