One of my fondest recent memmories is when my kid on his 2nd birthday was playing on the wagon. Wife was shopping and we had plenty of time to soak it in... really solid memmory and you know how it feels to feel like you have the whole park to yourself, even for a few momments.
You nailed this Justin . . . the two 3 year-olds playing in the Fire-Waggon ( perfectly happy to ignore the rest of the Park) gave the shot a Dreamlike feel; I never noticed the Horse-Stalls till you highlighted them and they seemed to Materialize . . . you are one Slick Operator . . . ( By the way that Front Suspension is a Dual Semi-Eliptic with Reverse + Transverse ). I remember as a 10 year old standing beside the Carnation Truck, looking up and Studying how the Curved front Roof was made . . . 😺😺😺
Justin, I believe some of the old horse buggies that you were talking about at the beginning of your video or at the new Circle D Ranch in Norco, California, where the horses are kept after Star Wars was built. I went there on opening day of the ranch and they had a stagecoach and quite a few of the buggies. You should check it out.
I love Steve in the Firetruck. Little known fact, one person can push the horse drawn carriage with loads of people in it. One of the gals opperating it showd me. Cool!!!
In the 1970s I worked in the Flower Market on the north end of the Emporium, we used to light candles in glass cups throughout for a wonderful ambiance for people who just wanted to slow down and enjoy the scenery of faux flowers. It was amazing!! I still enjoy your commentary of Disneyland, keeps me looking back at those days fondly.
What interesting info on Disneys Fire truck and horses, Yes, I would imagine they charged .10 to ride the wagon was really to feed the horses. You did well, with your research….🙏🏽❤️
OMG…Steve is still there?…he is as amazing as Disneyland! Love that old horse drawn fire truck in the Fire station. There are some creators, at the end of their live stream, as a tribute to Walt, will ring that bell….several times! I am a former cast member….l worked in Outdoor Vending 1999/2006 then later at the front gate 2022/2023. I heard that they were going to change…they look really nice. Regarding Steve, I heard that when he retires, he gets to take that fire truck with him. Thank you for the great fun vid..I love the MS Vehicles.
@@AWriterWandering They used to have a dedicated gate, if anything they now have to wait longer and don’t get to skip the queue so it’s a disadvantage and they are so bland and don’t fit the theming of the park at all. The tents the gates are in are 1950’s. You can’t mix new with old.
Justin, if you do finally decide on that trip to Seattle, I recommend going up or back down taking Amtrak's Coastliner. I think that you and Ally might enjoy, it obviously takes longer than flying but it's much more relaxing than driving. Unfortunately, there aren't any long stops where you can get off the train and take a look around anywhere outside of the station, but the scenery along the way from your seats is very beautiful. You can take coach, which is sort of like an enlarged airline seat with more cushioning and leg room to save money. My wife and I did that and since there should be only 1 night on the train it's comfortable enough. You can also splurge for one of the cabins while small, look decent enough. But you'll probably want to bring your own food since the dining car doesn't have the largest of menus for any meal and the cafe/snack shack is limited to just junk food, hot dogs, & drinks.
Justin... At the 25 second mark, I believe that was my sister. She was a main gate entrance ticket seller. Retired long ago. Also, I remember Main street Carnation Ice Cream cafe well.... Spent the first 6 months of my time there, before transferring to Disney.
Great video...! Love seeing all the ways to get around the park ..the horse drawn surreys remind me of Mackinac Island Michigan , my home state ..... best way to see most of the island and I have been there more times to count because I live here and always have. I love Michigan ❤️. We need a Disneyland park . Maybe a snow covered princess castle and make the park all forms of winter activities...lol..
The gates already had specific accessible entrances for people who needed extra width, but I think making all the gates more accessible is a great move.
After watching your video I am am even more sadden by the horrible changed they are making at the Magic Kingdom at Disney World. Once there is no longer a Riverboat or Tom Sawyer's Island I don't think I will be vacationing there ever again.
You mentioned the Global Van Lines vehicle that used to be parked on Main Street. Did you know that the Global Van Lines offices were located in the current Team Disney Anaheim building? I worked there in the late 1970s.
From what I’ve seen, some park goers and pass holders say Disney is treating the disabled worse now so the glass gates as an asset for wheelchairs etc sounds nice but I suspect the change had some different driving force behind it
Justin, curious if you ever do meet and greets like that time, circa 2016, when you were with Bob Gurr at the historic house in Santa Ana by the courthouse.
Justin iam shocked you did not mention that fire truck is the original fire truck that Mr walt disney himself drove that truck around the park with mickey mouse sitting right next to him. I rode that truck and sat where mickey mouse sat.
Nostalgia gets to me as much as the next nerd, hell I teared up when Han Solo showed up again in Force Awakens....but nostalgic for turn styles? Ya lost me there
J, given the latest advances in AI technology appearing real and even more difficult to identify, you literally can have actor Sean Connery in your videos saying "Go home and sleep well," and no one but yourself could ever know it wasn't him unless you said it.
If you’re looking for omnibuses and remaining vehicles that are out of commission and sold an auction look for gentleman named Randy land in Wildwood New Jersey he owns a lot of missing Main Street USA pieces. He is a Disney efficient auto. His name is Randy land Wildwood, New Jersey contact this man Justin please just contact this man. You’ll be very pleased and happy that I brought you to him. He will probably be happy to meet you.
That depends if your looking at it, from life's point of view or politically, it's looking bright than ever, with Trump's inauguration on Monday, & I'm all for it!! 😁
@ I just meant in regards to the turnstiles, do people really prefer those glass doors? It doesn’t fit the aesthetic of the Parks at all. They are so bland.
I can't believe we got that celebrity guest at the end!! MY MIND IS STILL BLOWN!
Yay! Justin is here!
Great videos justin
He didn't say it as well as you.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
🥰🤣🤣🤣🤣
I appreciate everything you do, Justin, to keep the magic of Disney alive for so many of us! Thank you!
Oh Justin, the mock Connery is golden! Can't never get tire of "You have done your duty, go home and shhleeep wellll..." motto.😉

I rode that fire wagon with the driver back in 1958!❤
Justin: you should try to do a tour of Walt’s apartment and film it
They don't let you film there
As a Cast Member working in the Emporium in 1986, the fire pole story was repeated as 'Fact" by leads and managers. I love the story, legend or not. ❤

At 7:55 the Monsanto home of the future, (behind the surrey). You gotta love it!

Justin name dropping with a flurry "my friend Bob Gurr"
As he does in as many videos as possible. And I'd be proud to say I was a friend of Bob Gurr too if I could.
I have so many pictures growing up sitting in those old trucks on Main Street ! Another great episode ❤❤❤❤
The advantage of the new gates is that they can accommodate wheelchairs and other mobility aids, unlike the older turnstiles.

Way cool justin glad your having fun at Disneyland
I love that story lol.
I loved this video.
Prayers for your girl kiddo. ❤🙏🏻
I have a model kit of the carnation truck. It has markings for the one from Disneyland

My guess is because they have to make gates accessible to wheelchairs and wagons for kiddos; etc. Its a good thing !

About myths and legends--they remain so, because it's not what you know, it's what you can prove.
I love Main Street. It's my favorite land, next to Fantasyland.

Hi Justin ad Ally how’s your day and stay warm plus drink some hot chocolate
Hi Ally...not sure how you are always so quiet in Justin's video..lol..
maybe if your friend Bob ask carnation if you can go see the truck/car just maybe you can go see it.
Get it pick? “the latter”😂
Justin iam shocked you did not mention that fire truck is the original fire truck that Mr walt disney himself drove that truck around the park with mickey mouse sitting right next to him. I rode that truck and sat where mickey mouse sat.
It's called to see if it's your reservation for the park i saw that 4 5 years ago
They could turn it into a 1966 bat poke style Lyft!

@Josh-wu7kz oh. Will admit this though, people will like it, people will hate it, but honestly, i kinda like it better, more quieter, honestly, imo.
