You do realize that now begins the search for your very own red Pee-Wee bike complete with little tiger in front. :) You are very inspiring, Justin! Keep it up.
I really love you are paying homage to Oceanic Arts with your tiki masks. Very special. Absolutely love the Disneyland reproductions too!❤
Wow! What a story on how you came across the guy that was able to lead you to get the right parts and get your bicycles fixed! Good things happen to good people. You're good people Justin! Great story/video. Thanks man!
I could listen to you talk all day.
Love the tiki mask and old school bikes.
Can't wait for future uploads. Get well
So awesome you found THE GUY!!! 🙌 it goes to show, you should never give up, cuz sometimes the Universe rewards you for being such a great person, which YOU ARE!!! 🙌👍❤️
So good to see you back and seeing the mess!!! I have been there and done that many times in my 58 years of life!!! Rock on and keep that positivity young man!!!🥰
"Crusty Old Scavengers" is a good name for a classic rock cover band.
Bike guy lives 4 doors down, what a small world. I enjoyed every second of the story. Keep getting well.
POSITIVE VIBES being sent your way for this trip and the fixing of the bikes.
As a Bicycle Mechanic, I can tell you this. No bike shop will touch a project like you have, because there is no money in it. If the the threads are not messed up too badly, you can chase them out with a tap, or have a shop do it, and just get some new pedals that fit. Yes I know you want to keep them vintage, but some times you cant. If the threads are shot, you can A. Drill them out and re tap them, B. Drill them out and put in a sleeve that can be tapped. Do you know what size holes are in the crank arms? I can look around where I live and see what I can find. Take it easy. I just thought of something. If you can take the pedals apart. You might be able to find or have made new spindles for them. Either made or bought. Do a Good search, I'm finding lots of Columbia vintage parts. Good luck.
You are so talented. Not only do you and Alley bring me happiness with your video's, but your book is wonderful, and you are a great artist. May you be blessed in the rest of your life and find happiness in all you do. I just wish I could afford one of your carved Tiki's.
Another great video 😁😁 and we love listening to you talk about any and everything!!!!!
How awesome that your bike dude lives just a few doors down!
My youngest, my 17 year old just graduated from High School, we did a short road trip last year and it was very fun, it's good that you get out together because before you know it, they will be out with their friends, more than you.
Congrats on his great grades! the license can wait
"Crusty old scavengers" 😂 I love it!
My Dad had his old combie from the 1970’s or so. It lasted until the late 1990’s before he got rid of it.
That old thing was amazing and so many incredible memories are tied to that old combie.
Don’t give up on your van. My Dad always regretted giving his combie up.
Bike pedals: You can braze the stripped Holes and retap them with a proper thread.
Yeah keeps the original part original and stronger than jb weld.
I build 2 bikes during covid, never thought I'd be doing that after 30 yrs. However, greatness!!
The DJI Pocket 3 is great .Wow, the masks are awesome... I hope you are signing the masks because someday they will be worth tons.😎 The bikes are awesome too. 🧐
No worries, Justin. I'm that old, too. Lol. 😁 OMG, what a cute little baby kitten! I sure hope you find a good home for it. 🤗
Visiting the Randomland booth sort of felt like a necessary pilgrimage. So glad I made it to check out your booth as well as the rest of the Orange Circle. Just missed you which would have made my year!
Your booth looks amazing! So much in there now! :) I like random vlog videos like these.
Nice to see your update! It's possible the 'shudder' you're feeling from your van is due to your van having a bad "U" joint connecting the drive shaft to the differential. (I hope its something that simple) Can't wait to see you on the road with London.
Some vintage bikes there. You are talented with the carvings.
Great to see you on the mend. Good luck with the funraiser. Congratulate Ally on the new family member.
That’s such a cool story on the bike thing glad it came all together.
This is my favorite type of vid 😍
The Mrs and I drove from Bakersfield to visit your booth today. I ended up buying your Prince Albert in a Can. 😂 We already have all your other merch as well as a copy of your awesome book. Keep up the good work Justin! We're so glad you're on the mend. We look forward to your upcoming adventures.
The bikes are sooooo cool!!! I'm so glad things are turning around
I was waiting for that sometimes vlog jingle and we finally got it!! Thanks Justin
OMG Pepper is too adorable!! Those bikes are awesome 😮
I'd call the antiques booth the Randomland Randomstand! 😁
I prefer this type of video, do more like this and I'll be happy 😊
You need a fabricator who can weld to fill in the threads enough so that they can be tapped out again with fresh threads.
Your camera is working great! Have a nice memorable time on your trip with your son.
So much crust in this video! 😂
Please keep Pepper!❤
It would be so cool if Justin got a TV Show! It should be titled Randomland Road Trip!
Please keep little Pepper! She looks so sweet and obviously loves you. Plus, you've already named her.❤
Came here to say this!
Looking forward to seeing London again. Love your road trip videos.
When I was a little kid in the 70's I remember a 3 Musketeers bar was 25 cents
Hey Justin we just moved to Springfield Missouri Hope to see you when you get here looking forward to it
Good to see you again.
Take care of yourself. Especially on your trip take it easy. Love your videos.
Glad you're feeling better and on your way back to healthy... KITTEH!!!
Love your Tiki carving work brother ! Looking forward to a signed copy of your schweet book when I visit again from Australia in September! I always hope to bump into you at the circle to give you a hug and say thanks for all the amazing work you to esp for all your international friends who love the USA esp the Disney Parks. Sandy from Australia.
long time fan, new subscriber (finally) All the best Justin.
I'm happy you feeling better now
Good too see your back at it man! Just came back from my road trip down the east coast down to florida. Saw some awesome stuff, met some great people and had a overall good time.
Can't wait too see what your adventure has store this year!
*You should be able to drill out and re thread the bike pedals.* When an engine or anything metal strips a Bolt we just drill out the striped bolt and threads then re tap the threads (cut new threads in). Since the hole is wider you just have to buy pedals with larger threads. It 100% can be done correctly. It's done all the time.
Good luck to you and your fam been following for many many years
Awesome congrats to your son I like when you bring your family with you
Hi! Justin, Glad to see you better!
Love The Sometimes Vlog!
It would be awesome to someday see your book in a Barnes & Noble in the future :)
Get back thru Bisbee, AZ on your way out to the East Coast. Eureka Springs also worth a visit.
Nice work, Justin!
I feel you about having a procedure, I just had my foot amputated recently
I have an old Schwinn (55 years old to be specific), and I enjoy riding it. Though there are plenty of modern parts that will not fit it. Like I had to replace the tires on it I already knew it would need Schwinn specific tires. Imagine my surprise when i find out the front and rear rim aren't even the same size. The bike does also need a paint job, though its such a good rider its hard to stop riding it long enough to do that.
I miss Paris in a Cup at the Circle in Orange. However, i have a Randomland sticker on my laptop from the booth!
Hey! I'm a 1955 model!! Woo hoo! Same as the bike... and Disneyland! 😜
I hope there’s still some books available in the antique station when I come over in November. Shipping to the UK was so expensive so I’m coming to California instead 😂
New camera footage looks great!
I can't even get a old huffy restored lol -_-. Your restoring classics! Oh and there might be a bike shop in old town whittier that might be able to work on old bike parts.
Haha Nice "Rolling Stop", I though that was just a Texas thing 😂
Swing by Mahoning valley. Lots of cool stuff
Dude the new camera is sick can’t wait for the road trip vids !🙏🏻 you are working so hard keep smashing it.
"Right is right". Right side pedals are normal thread, install clockwise like most bolts. As in turn to the right to tighten. It shouldn't fight you much unless other things going on. Once you know that, the other pedal is opposite. It is kinda weird, I know , installing it counterclockwise! Also, make sure you don't accidentally have 2 right pedals!
I just bought DJI Osmo Pocket 3 as well. Works great! Order some of the magnetic filters and tweak your white balance a bit and you’ll be all set!
Sticking around. Planes trains and automobiles. Cruz up to bridge city! We go to zoo and do the hang hang
Awesome video
Yay!! Hope to run into ya to say hey if you make it to Tulsa ☺️
Nice bikes Justin, how about making a tiki mask for one?!! Like a hood ornament, but of course for a bicycle! Stay healthy!!
BTW,,, every video is fun. Regardless!!! 🥰🙌Camera quality looking really good!
"Randomland Treasures" seems like a solid name for the booth!
Those bikes are pretty cool. I would go to Harbor freight and get a cheap kit to Rethread the pedals.I don't think that it would be hard.Ive fixed the threads on a few different things with a kit that I got there and I didn't have any experience.
Greetings from OKC. I understand you are planning on a Rte 66 road trip. when you come to OKC you need to go by the Ferris Wheel south of I-40 on Western. It used to be the old Santa Monica Pier Ferris Wheel that was at the End or Beginning of Rte 66 depending on which direction you go.
Bring the cranks to a machine shop weld hole up and re tap for pedal .
Your booth should be called RandomStand!
Counts Kustoms, Las Vegas. Will take your van to brand new.
Come ride with us in orange Justin! First Sunday of the month we meet at the orange circle
Hey if you make the right choice and find a good local shop you can easily own a classic car without breaking the bank. But hey the bikes are cool. Interested in getting one of those myself.
Wish I could make it to Exotikon II. Nice masks.
By the way, the video looks great super smooth clear and sharp and the audio is solid. Gotta love that pocket 3 it’s definitely no full size mirror camera but for what it is it gets the job done super convenient easy to travel with
Miss these kinds of videos
Justin, how about making wood carvings of the giant sequoias, especially the one with the tunnel to drive through? I bet those would sell.
I just have to...kiddo...but since you are so good with your hands...how about a tiny house or cabin to tow and travel?
Jack...from
TINY CABON LIFE
comes to mind..
Only because he has learned to build off grid TINY cabins to pull behind him when he travels..which is constant.
Anyway...I am trying to talk hubby into that since we travel a lot too.
Getting so expensive.
Just a thought ❤
I love vintage bikes.
I'm a kid of the 60s 70s....had one lol.
Then the ten speeds arrived and well...u know😅
So fun
Take care of yourself Always.
Always enjoy your stuff.
Cheers!
Bill and Julia ❤
Maybe you should try a CNC shop that dose custom work you might find that right guy that all help you out on the bikes
Here for the bonus kitten footage!
I hope to have the chance to buy a tiki mask! Alas, I live in Washington state and have to wait till you sell them online!! Your work is beautiful!!
Get your kicks on Route 69 😜😉, get well Starfighter
About the camera, looks great. About London I cannot believe he is 17!I remember him when you and Allie were dating, just wow that happened. Looking so forward to London’s trip.
Nice wood tiki justin scarred
Now I want my very Tiki Mask!
Please Keep the Randomland Van, Keep the Bike and get a Big Blue chair with large eyes and call it chairry and you have Done your Duty!
Those bikes have standard 1/2”pedals and an American 1 piece bottom bracket so it should be easy to fix. Just don’t make the mistake of forgetting the pedals are reverse threaded on the left hand side. The next problem you will start to have is spokes breaking at the nipples or j bend. There is a mechanic at a spot called bike land that knows how to do the schwinn specific lacing pattern for the spokes.
You should learn to fix your own bicycles, changing cranks is so basic, one speed balloon tire bikes are so easy!!!
Awesome videos Justin how have you been long time everyone okay
Welcome to Justin’s tiki tiki tiki …. Fence
As soon as I saw the missing pedals I knew what happened. Been there done that.
It's not like I didn't do that before. DUH!
Thread inserts. Drill and tap the cranks then use thread inserts to repair. It might be tough finding a reverse thread, but they are out there. Cranks should be pulled to do the best job. It must be done right because you have your whole weight on those pedals.
Or, find some good used cranks and cut off the tips and weld them on these bikes.
The van; lift up the license plates up and pull another van under. Talk about a nightmare waiting to happen. Stay healthy and enjoy the time with your son. You're the only dad Lincon will ever have.
wrote this before seeing the whole video
Good stuff, brother. That’s an old lady’s bike though. Someone hook this man up with something a little more schweppe.
