I’m so glad I’m not the only one that has difficulties like this. My hat is off to you sir. Now I can go on feeling like “I’m not alone”. You are truly a craftsmen! When I watch these videos and they NEVER show any problems, I stop watching. It is a magnificent knife sir!
Thank you greatly Stan! I'm full of mistakes, but I'm happy with how this one turned out. If you want to see some adversity check out my most recent video on the twist damascus bowie I made... LOL
I've never seen a knife maker so dedicated to cleanliness. Not sure how to feel, but I definitely respect a clean workspace. After all, a clean workspace is a happy workspace. Love the craftsmanship!
You are amongst the top, if not the top precision craftsman! I love the production and editing, and what impressed me the most on this video was the shot, showing how you push the bevel into the belt grinder so that it gives everybody a perfect knowledge of your technique
The level of precision (which I absolutely appreciate) you’re going for has me wondering which component on the space shuttle is this knife a part of? Great work! Details matter!
I’ve seen this video many times and really appreciate the build I know that I’ve no patience for your or any other knife makers meticulous detail to craftsmanship the sheath is gorgeous and since I do leather work like the tooling done on it
Beautiful knife! The workmanship that you put into this knife was amazing. You do very good work and I can tell that you take a lot of pride in your craft. Please keep making videos of your work. Later
Very nice. I appreciate your precision grinding and work. Very clean job. I'd love to have one with slab sides stag coffin handle, 10in blade with sharpened swedge.
Amazing job! The video does a great job of showing all the steps and precision required to pull off a knife like this! Turned out amazing! #pommelnutgang
I’m not gonna say that this knife was a waste of time, because it wasn’t, but why a takedown? I know they can be quite strong and they’ll do a lot, but if I’m getting a hidden tang knife, I want the handle penned on at least
You have made yourself a beautiful fighting knife. But bear in mind That all things have distinctions of their own. Just as a person would never call compact car a limousine, any knife blade under 9 inches cannot actually be called a Bowie. Just as the blade of an Arkansas toothpick cannot be 4 inches long, a Bowie blade has to be a minimum of 9”. All true fighting knife blades are 6”-8-1/2” long. You did however, make a beautiful combat fighting knife.

You sure took a long time making it. But man what a result.
Featuring the BA VanDer SanDer !!! My brain fart seen in action !!
Glad you liked it! Work the time, IMO. Cheers
A fantastic job. Can tell you put your heart and soul into that one.
Thank you very much!
Amazing work!!! I am wondering, what is the best way to temper multiple blades at once in the oven?
Hey Chase, there is no issue stacking them all in there to temper at the same time.
Brother!! Another good one! I often travel to Texas for work maybe one day we will cross paths.
Thank you greatly Jeffrey!
Absolutely beautiful knife mate!
Thank you sir!
JMHO, but this Bowie can sit next to a D.E. Henry and hold its head high! Very well done❤
Thank you greatly Ferd! Much appreciated.
That sure came out nice. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! Cheers!
That knife is sick. Make the beard proud :)
Thank you! Cheers

And he chops a 2×4 after all that work. Good Lord in Heaven!
I know right... it was painful... had to do it!
@@RedBeardOps Big old Balls of Brass or really confident on that heat treat 😂
Sure a lot of precision work went into making that knife.
Thanks Glen!
Next level excellence Red.
What a build.... it looks awesome.
Beautiful!
Thank you! Cheers!
Hermoso trabajo colorado.Mucha precisión y detalles. Saludos y aguante Maradona
¡Muchos gracias! ¡Que tengas una buena semana!
What vise are you using on your milling machine? I have the same setup and the one that came with it was garbage. Thanks!
Been using this one... it's a good value. I'm sure there are better, but it's all I know - amzn.to/4dmN559
Do you use the same guard patterns for each build or do you have multiple that you create for each knife build?
So far they've all been custom/different, however, it's nice to have some old ones for reference.
Nice job!
Thank you! Cheers!
this is a really great build. I enjoyed the narrated series, and this build vid is great as well. keep up the awesome work, man.
Thank you greatly Toby! Cheers
Ottimo lavoro ! peccato non aver lasciato il codolo full tang ..sarebbe stato davvero indistruttibile e di maggior valore
Vi auguro una buona giornata!
Hey man love ur videos. I’m a a machinist and love watching your stuff and looking at getting into knife making. I have to ask r u wooded beardsman?
Glad you're enjoying the videos Jeff! Good luck making some knives. I am not wooded beardsman
Amazing job! The video does a great job of showing all the steps and precision required to pull off a knife like this! Turned out amazing! #pommelnutgang
Thanks Daniel! Happy to be a pommel nut! lol
I don't understand. You bought a die grinder/Dremel style tool. You have a milling machine. I was wondering why?
This is so I can recess the ricasso into the guard :)
Wow. Gorgeous knife. I remember watching the first forge video. Seeing the progress from that into this is pretty incredible. Really impressive work
Thank you greatly Sean! I'm trying hard over here! lol - Have a great weekend
Hey bro, new to the channel, have you or anyone on this channel engraved with the xtool D1 Pro? does it work well?

What kind of steel?
1084 if I remember right
@@RedBeardOps Thank you.
How can I get one of your knives?
I put finished knives on my website, but honestly work really slow!
I’m not gonna say that this knife was a waste of time, because it wasn’t, but why a takedown? I know they can be quite strong and they’ll do a lot, but if I’m getting a hidden tang knife, I want the handle penned on at least
Some collectors like takedowns because they're cool

Why did it take so long?
I work slow! ;)

Glad you liked it Frank!
Overcomplication 100
Glad you enjoyed the build!
I think handle is too short.
Felt pretty good in the hand! Cheers sir!

Oh you forge? I read a comment awhile back that said you just did stock removal and how you should be ashamed of yourself. This video must be fake 😉
LOL, must be fake!! ;) - Cheers sir
Mit so einer Werkstatt bau ich mir ein Raumschiff!
Das ist eine gute Idee
