    I am 72 and suspect I have LS. I have all the symptoms and have had for several years. I had no idea what it was but your videos described exactly what I was experiencing. You would think at my age I would be over being embarrassed to see a doctor for this but I am and I am mortified to have a doctor look at this. I told my urologist about my symptoms via a phone appointment and she gave me the steroid cream. I am also on estrogen cream which has helped my UTIs immensely. In a quandary at the moment. Thank you for your videos.

    Hi, I just wanted to thank you for this video. You were the first person I found on TH-cam talking about this condition and I found your channel so helpful. That was about three years ago I think. I had just been diagnosed but had not been given much information on it except being given the ointment. You explained so much of the information I really needed. I’m having a flair up at the moment so I came right back to someone I trusted. I am going with the ointment again and also an emollient. Take care love your videos, so helpful for so many of us.

    Very helpful. I had issue with sore foreskin and inflammation. Urologist said not lichen sclerosis but I'm not convinced. Been down the long term steroid use, didn't really help. They've kind of just sent me on my way now, they don't think circumcision will help but anyway, GP gave me an emollient which I think maybe a game changer (epimax). Omg! I have had LS since I was 8 years old & I just found you I am 59. I know I didn’t even think to research since I have been so ashamed along with other stuff. I think I have been in remission for a long time . I am so glad other women will not have to go thru what I did hopefully. I am very curious about what you do about the collateral damage to your underwear with emollient, barrier creams, clobetasol (and I also use estrogen cream). I am going through underwear like crazy because as you know, pads irritate the area.
    I am very interested in hearing what you have to say.

    • @lichensclerosussupportnetwork
      @lichensclerosussupportnetwork  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't really have collateral damage personally. But in fairness, I don't buy expensive underwear. I use cheap, cotton, oversized briefs and if some product gets on it, that's fine, I've never had issues with it not washing out. I also never apply so much at a time that it's dripping through my underwear or anything, but that's just me. I know everyone is different. Barrier creams like Vaseline may be better since they stay put more and are colorless, but I haven't had issues with coconut oil or FemmeSense balm in the past. With love,

    I have small cuts way back in the vagina near the cervix. Been put on clob treatments. Unsure at this point if it is LS cuz she can’t do a biopsy yet. I was not sure if this is typical location cuz it’s so far back there.
    The last time I used Vaseline pre clob and suspected diagnosis' it burned really badly. I am sort of scared to put anything back there.
    Awaiting results of further tests.
    I am normally an active person and this has sidelined me in a way I have never known. And wonder if I will ever get back to my active lifestyle

    • @lichensclerosussupportnetwork
      @lichensclerosussupportnetwork  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Personally, I'd book in with a doctor who can examine the area to see what is going on and how you should treat. I'd keep the area hydrated with your emollient of choice until discussing with your doctor. Often red and cracked skin is a sign of irritation - could be yeast, dermatitis, reaction to steroids, or other - best to get checked out to know for sure.

      Thanks for sharing this! We've consulted with a number of dermatologists and gynecologists and LS specialists all of whom recommend it and say it's safe to use. Of course, everyone is different. Some people find that it causes yeast, others love it. When it comes to emollients, it's all about finding what works for you and your body. I wasn't saying you have to use coconut oil, just that that's what I use. I've been using it for 4 years and not had a single issue. I do not have a lot of money, so I have to use what's cheap and what works for me. I'm glad you have products that work for you! I guess it depends on how you are defining 'works' here. No emollient is meant as a cure or treatment, they are adjuncts to your primary plan. So do you mean works = cure, works = treat, works = feel better, works = hydrated?
