I have a seemingly identical pair wearing Ideal livery. I think someone owns the IP for a solid tool design and licenses it to anyone whose check clears.
Always adding value in his videos, good stuff. In other news... Merry Christmas to you and to the reader of this post, wishing you all a great Christmas Holiday.
Not surprised. I work at a company that had a few novel tool designs. Once we brought them to a manufacturer overseas (can't remember if China or Taiwan), we saw our design pop up under a few other brand names
Take a look at the snap-on and Stahlwille ratchet screwdriver. If you turn them, the sound is almost the same. Also try if you can find other equipment that sound similar. If you find something cheap you could take it apart to see if the CNC marks are the same.
My Capri Tools set are identical too.. Pretty much everything (tools) everyone purchases are made by the same groups of tool manufacturers..Their $40 tool is also their $140 tool..Just with a different name..and in some cases a slight change
There is one major flaw in these in my opinion. The wire cutting function. You have to put the wire through the hole to cut it. So, if you have an attached wire with the other side having a crimped connector, there is no way to cut the wire. Otherwise, actually very solid strippers.
I have similar made in Germany Knipex ones in metric and imperial gauge. Not sure if you have them too, but would be interesting to get your opinion how the Knipex ones compare.

Never got used to these finger pinchers.
Love my Weidmuller stripax

I have been using my Ideal strippers for over 45 years, I'll have to go to garage and see how close of a match they are. Thanks Doc
I call these wire strippers “Reverse Alligators”, it was the first thing that came to mind the first time I saw this style.
Great video Doc.
Thank you, I appreciate it.
I have Doyle auto wire strippers.Used them on solid and stranded wire they work great.

I have an Ideal brand that are 35-40 years old, slightly different in design but still work very well.

I had these in my cart, the price jumped when this video was released 🤣

how do those compare to the ones you have on the left side of the table? can you make a video comparing pros cons of each type?
I have that klein pair and they work well. I also have an ideal pair but those have a bit more slop so I prefer the kleins.
Being single-handed one could dedicate the Milwaukee for Hot and Klein for Neutral, and dual-wield them for higher efficiency
I have seen a lot of the Milwaukee hand tools are seemingly manufactured by the same manufacturer as Klein.

Made in the same factory in China
I work as an electrician and I can tell you those in the trade almost universally hate that style of stripper.
I'm a newer subscriber and I enjoy your videos. Are you an electrician?
Same price for both brands, I can't find ideals that look even close to them. Ideal has something 70% similar but not the same.
Same story with the Auto Adjusting Strippers
Klein ratcheting crimper seems the same as Doyle and Titan.
I'm in love with a stripper.... Never expected that song to have any other meaning
same chinese fabric
