I'm only halfway through this video, but had to pause to say excellent job 👏 I've been a reseller about 22 yrs now & I still enjoy learning & hearing insight from others. This video must have taken a lot of work, time, & research. Well done!
GradysMom -- You said everything I was about to type, so I will just say "ditto." 🙂 Also Becky, a lot of the NWT Zara is coming from Salvation Army. They buy overstock from Zara & then mark it down 1/2 price. Eventually at my local stores the un purchased goes down to $1. I have gotten A LOT of NWT Zara that way, and have made GREAT $$.
Excellent, excellent job!!! I learned so much. Thank you for doing the work for us. So helpful. The only criticism I have is to allow for the pictures of the examples to be on the screen for longer so we have enough time to see it. It’s super quick and I always have to go back. Even tho you have a beautiful face, I would like to see the pictures of the examples for a longer while you talk over them. Great video!
As a fellow TH-camr I just wanted to say thank you for this video because I know how much time went into editing this. This is an excellent video for anyone who needs a little more info on these basic brands. It’s well made and I agree with all your points. I just some a Coldwarer Creek maxi dress in a patchwork style for 40$. New with tags CC does well also scoring around 25$ a piece for general items. I just sold a vintage madewell jacket for 50$. It was denim.
Some recent bread and butter sales I was super pleased with.... a NWOT Soft Surroundings Linen Dress, Size 3X, sold for $75, and a 2023 season Banana Republic Italian Wool plaid blazer for $190!! Banana Republic has upped their game recently and I've seen some nice quality and expensive pieces. Great video!
Yes! Banana Republic is a great brand that values quality. I was going to put Soft Surroundings on my list, but seeing as how they've been bought out, I didn't know if it was worth it.
@@beckyparkco Oh I had no idea they were bought out! It was an older tag Soft Surroundings piece, maybe that helped its value? (Plus it being 100% linen and size 3X) I’ve passed on every other SS piece I’ve seen in the past year though, comps are just too low for the profits I’m looking for. So I think you were right to leave it off. My example is an outlier for sure!
I can only imagine how long it takes to make videos like this, but wow...such great information! Especially as we are putting the 'Summer Slowdown' behind us and gearing up for Fall. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
This video was super helpful because I pass over most of these brands in the thrift and note I’m going to start looking for specific styles that you highlighted
I always enjoy your videos. This format was amazingly helpful! Not asking you to stop any of the other stuff you're doing, but more along these lines mixed in would be fantastic.
This was super helpful. Thank you for doing all this research and sharing! I had a good laugh seeing one of my sales in this video 😅 (the Zara toy story denim utility jumpsuit!)
Great video packed with so much valuable information! I don’t understand why BR doesn’t always sell for good money. The clothes are high quality and aren’t cheap to buy retail. I think the quality is so much better than a lot of brands that sell for high dollar. The first time I found a Reformation dress, I thought wow this feels so cheap but it sold for over $100. WHBM is usually great quality too but I can’t give that brand away.
I’m 66yo and I wore Madewell when I was a teen in fact it was really popular. So there should be Madewell vintage out there unless the Madewell today is a totally different company. Ok I just did some research and when I wore Madewell I wore the original Madewell brand. The Madewell you know today is only the company J Crew purchased the Madewell trademark and manufactures clothing under the Madewell name but it is not the original Madewell that started in 1937. Boy I wish I had all my 70’s clothes. 👍
Thank you for this video! Like you, and most of us, I find a lot of these brands at the thrift. I appreciate your research with in these brands! I have found some beautiful Banana Republic pieces that have sold for good profit I will keep my eye out for more of these brands/pieces.
Super helpful video! I really appreciate all the specific insights (details like mentioning the date tag on BR pieces). I also enjoy your pacing; purposeful but not rushed. It's clear you put a lot of work into this video and you know what you're talking about. Thank you for this video and keep up the great work! i just subscribed. :)
Thanks, because I've passed over A&F because their stores weren't doing too well, but it looks like ppl are coming back. It's weird the way reselling works, I use to love South Pole jeans for men but they hardly sold for me so I had to stop getting them, now these jeans go for well over 50 bucks but of course I can't find them anymore. Ahhh, reselling!!!!
I have pretty good luck with Anthropologie. I find it and free people a lot. I've had some good sales with some of the Anthro collabs and Maeve collars. I think they collab with artists not other clothing designers but I could be wrong. I also would add ASOS and H&M with the Zara category. I see those 3 as the same and if it's the right piece in any of those 3 brands they seem to resell for about the same price for me.
Oh my goodness Coldwater Creek is from my area 😂. Inland PNW is North Idaho, Sandpoint Idaho to be exact. Coldwater Creek bankrupt from overzealous behavior and actually harmed many community members when it closed down. It’s a quality made brand but locals wear Pantagonia, Northface etc. Too cold here and no where to wear “fancy”. Definitely not made for hiking, fishing, boating and camping lol.
it can for me too - that's why you either have to stick to almost current season or maybe last season items OR pick up vintage. Anything in between tends to sit.
