- This is my Miss Grand International 2021 Final Show Reaction and Full Review, During this video, I will tell you my honest opinion about the Miss Grand International 2021 Winner, the pageant, production, different categories and the different candidates who made it into the Top 20, Top 10 and Top 5.
This is not a Live Reaction to Miss Grand International 2021 but rather an opinion video where I will review some of the highlights and moments that I consider are most pertinent to me and my audience.
My Miss Grand International 2021 Reaction video about the Final show is divided into 3 sections:

Miss Grand International 2021: The Future.
To illustrate my opinion, I use Samantha Panlilio and Geysel Vaillant (Miss Grand Philippines and Miss Grand Cuba) as examples since these are candidates that my audience can relate to. I also express myself about candidates such as Miss Grand Thailand, Miss Grand Dominican Republic, Miss Grand India, Miss Grand Colombia, etc.
Keep in mind that this is my personal opinion about the Miss Grand International 2021 Final Show and the outcome of it. You're entitled to your own opinion and this should not be a reason to send negative comments to the candidates, the organization or myself.

Your statement is contradictory. Your endless whinning about the result and trashing of the pageant because the American girl that represented Philippines did not win is hurling Mud in the face of Miss Vietnam and the 1% of Vietnamese who care about pageants. Why do you even need to issue a disclaimer??? The Vietnamese people do not depend on pageants for their national pride and most of all they dont care about your moaning.

Miss Philippines Samantha, Miss Thailand and Miss Cuba deserved to be in top 20. They had done excellent pasarela and they excelled in every category.

There were good points about the pageant. However, their advocacy was not clear. The show was clearly a cooking show, and there were better girls who deserved to be on the top lists of 20, 10, and even top 5. The feud between the MGI and the Philippines has a long history. The President even made some statements, but they used the candidates, especially those with strong fans, to draw attention. MGI is trying to be one of the big 4 pageants, even competing for Miss Earth. I remember the revealations by Samantha Bernando. Due to her popularity, she was even asked to do promotions even though there was a winner. It was like overshadowing, which is not right. Well, in the end, it's up to the organization to decide if they should send a delegate to MGI. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Luis. 💙
Yes, it's okay if Philippines doesn't win the crown but the fact that they didn't even place Samantha on top 20 is a big question. She clearly deserves better placement. And base on the Q&A portion I really think that Puerto Rico is the only one who nailed the question but still congratulation to Ms. Vietnam 💕
I agree. Puerto Rico delivered top-notch performance, and she would have made a great MGI ambassador. She was my favorite and bet to win because she delivered.

A MGI winner also said that Nawat is the only one who judge or pick the Winner.....Judges dont have power to pick the winner they only pick the top5 but not the winner and ranking

This might be old news but this comes at a no surprise in the Philippines or at least with Filipino pageant fans. It is a known thing that MGI, especially the head, Nawat, won't let The Philippines have a title. Somehow it started when The Philippines' gained momentum in the pageant world the past years and its own Miss Earth pageant became one of the Big Four (Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss International, Miss Earth) important pageant by international outlets including The Latin Times and NBC News. Miss Earth is the only international pageant that is affiliated with the United Nations Environment Programme and the World Wildlife Fund where its winners will automatically be a spokesperson to the said organizations. It is also worth noting that when Catriona Gray won the Miss Universe title, Nawat and MGI made a public snide comment to her victory saying that it was rigged. Filipinos don't really care about MGI, though. so regardless of the outcome it doesn't matter and we just move on to more important things.
Correct! Miss Earth could be the most underrated, but Miss Earth is the most relevant and legit pageant out there. It is the most recognised pageant by every countries government when it comes to its environmental programmes.
Nawat is envious and bitter to the Philippines! He can not accept the fact that we are a powerhouse in the world of pageantry. He is not fair , biased and a user! He is evil!

You're correct and on point in your opinion Luis. As a Filipino my heart also bleeds for Samantha's fate in this pageant. She did her best from start to finish but all her efforts were consciously denied by the judges. I believe it's a personal action of this organization to clip the wings of Samantha to prevent her from soaring like her BBP sisters( Faith, Cyndi, and Maureen).
Time to reflect if we still have to patronize this pageant, knowing that it doesn't value our representatives and just caused them heartbreaks, shame and low self esteem after going through the competition.
Puerto rico has the best answer tip 5 but she s 4th runner up.

I rooted for Vietnam also, she is so beautiful, smart and very genuine, She deserved to win, but for Thailand, PH and other contestants that are obviously deserving also, and to not make it to top 20 just doesnt make any sense.
One of the most frustrating outcomes of a Filipina delegate in the era of Philippine pageantry. Don't get me wrong, the production is extravagant and visually pleasing. But, the real question is its credibility. We need to subscribe to organizations that constructively recognize, justify, & celebrate the essence of a Filipina & their hard work ethic. Give credit where credit is due. Samantha Panlilio deserves better. Congrats to Miss Vietnam!

Congratulations to the winner, Ms. Vietnam and her runner-ups. Oh, soooo disappointing. Sorry to say but if our BBPO sends another candidate to this pageant, i will not support anymore. I'm not bitter if Sam didn't win but on my opinion she deserved a placement on top 20 at least. Yeah, i had a doubt before from what i read about the unfair judging, esp. on Sam Ber last yr, wow, i saw this w/ my eyes in 2021. It's true. So sad.....

The hard work that samantha put on in this pageant was just remarkable but they just threw out in the ditch! Big slap in the face. I just feel like any PH candidate will never be enough for this pageant due to the owner’s hard stance against PH in other interview video. We can accept defeat if its valid and substantiated. Kudos to Luis! I love mutual respect! ☮️💟
Definitely correct.Filipinos know how to accept defeat but Filipinos know how to evaluate if it is really a win or a defeat. It is so sad that the anger to few created a bad rippling effect to the capable beautiful Filipina candidates.

Very well said Luis. The amount of hardwork, the quality performance overall, the selfless efforts (considering that it is still pandemic) that each candidate and country invested in the pageant are not given equal value or taken for granted in a bias competition because of flawed judgment system that is controlled by one person. Surely, we learned our lesson and can return back the favor by no longer patronizing the organization and anything connected to it. Samantha, to our hearts, you are still our winner because you gave your all and your very best, the best performance that anyone could ever give.

I agree with all you have said. Cuba deserves better she gives an extraordinary performance during the preliminary competition same with Samantha. That's why I like Miss Earth over MGI. MGI only focuses on the production but behind those glamorous LEDs are nothing more significant. They don't have a clear purpose and the advocacy they are trying to promote is completely contradicting their actions. I am happy that there are kind people like you that saw those injustices in that organization.

Yaaaasssss!!! Finally someone who voiced out exactly what most of us are thinking! I was so confused and heartbroken last night that I couldn't even articulate what it was that I was feeling. I have been silently following pageantry for yrs and this is the 1st time I was baffled by a result. It just didn't make sense. If you base the top 20 from the performances from the prelims, cuba, thailand and Philippines, would've made it. I'm sure there's a reason why so I hope the organization will be transparent on the scoring so fans would'nt feel cheated. Fans get excited about guessing which candidates would make it (well at least that's what excites me about pageantry) based on their perfomances but what happened took it away. I will still root for our representative but I think I won't be watching next year. 😔

@@trankan6734 I think you are misunderstanding what I'm saying. I never questioned the winner esp since she was also on my list of top candidates. Supporting every girls whatever Country she belongs to is what pageant fans are here for. I support whoever performs the best which is why I never mentioned I came from a specific Country. Ms. Phil wasn't even in my list of top 5 if you base it on the prelims. I was just talking about the top 20 here and the criteria of judging.

Miss International is one pageant which deserves a worthy upgrade. It's not as tacky as MGI. MI could improve a lot of things to make it more global, while still retaining its very respectful Japanese cultural flavor and organized presentation. For one, I think it's the only pageant which truly respects the crown, scepter and sash by having it brought on stage placed on a pillow and tray. Where the winner receives a plaque and a trophy, even a souvenir crown of value. Unlike most pageants (even MU) where the previous queen holds the crown like a bucket to be dunked on the head of the new winner. 🤷🏼♀️👑🙋🏼 To me there are only three big pageants worthy of respect. MU, MI and MW. MGI is very shady. Mr Nawat, how have you stopped the wars?

Thank you for loudly speak out what's really true. Philippines deserves more, we really don't know why this pageant is too personal and saying that they hate the Philippines. A lot of filipino supporting this organization but then all of our effort wasn't appreciated but in return a disappointment for some biases which transparently seen by all. #SamPanDeservesMore

I am happy that Miss Vietnam won. For me, the Philippines can't always win. Life is like that. Even if Sam Panlilio didn't place in the Top 20, she still did the Philippines proud. She is still a queen.
Anyway, even if the Philippines lost in this pageant, we won the crown for Miss Culture International in South Africa on the same night. So it's okay.

You are very ON POINT with everything you have said about MGI. I believe Nawat and his team have already achieved what they wanted ever since the inception of this pageant in 2013. MGI just needs to be talked about every year and generate more publicity regardless of whether the result is credible or not in the eyes of the pageant fans. Nawat likes drama, as you can see how it has evolved through the years. Of course, he owns the pageant, so he can do what he wants, right? This is also about other candidates who are well deserving as well, like Miss Puerto Rico whom I believe is a very clear winner for the crown and Miss Brazil as the 1st runner up. Miss Thailand also deserved a spot in Top 20. And we won't complain if we know that our candidate lacks something especially the Question and Answer portion. We know Samantha can pull of the speech and Q & A if she was given a chance. Third, focus on the pageant which is the main topic of the video and not the other things. If you want to tackle about those, we can educate you more about it.

Hello international fans im Vietnamese. Firstly im very happy for new MGI. But im sad beacuse my top 5 also Philippines Thailand didnt make it to top 20. Vietnam is new to all these competition and we only have 2 crown is ME and MGI. So we hope that you all know that we love all the queen i always rooting for Philippines beacause you guys are so good at these and Vietnam is new to these . Im surpise bcs they didint call miss Philipines. so i hope vietnam and all other country can help eachother in these competion. Every miss is Queen love from Vietnam.

Luis you are soooo right. Exactly how I feel about the organization. What I really don't like about the MGI is the judging panel set-up. The pageant don't have a global judging panel compared to Miss Universe. This is the reason why Miss Universe remains the most respected and loved pageant. Also with MGI I don't really see the greater purpose of the pageant. What are they about? What do they stand for the world. They are about glam and glitz and what? What do they for the World? I highly suggest Philippines totally not participate in this pageant anymore because there is no purpose for it.
Thats why not much Thai fan for mgi, this stage is political stuff and business. Nawat is radical and fight with everyone here rudely. Just only comunist idea genre are mgi fan in Thailand. Philippines can accept defeat cuz we know that we cant always win in every pageant but being defeated should be in acceptable reason and i dont see any reason for the exclusion of our candidate. Lets be real that Samantha did really well in every aspect of the competition. She put so much work into it. She and her team have sacrifice a lot for this and then they're just put it into waste? Where is the justice? Is it because the owner doesnt want us to win? For some personal reason? For me the main problem of this is the owner and the org. And we the filipinos are putting and end into this to boycott MGI and let BPCI drop the franchise because this pageant is a trash.

I agree that there is no concrete advocacy and essence of MGI unlike other pageants. I am very sad with those ladies who put so much effort since the beginning and they don't even part of the top 20. Yes, the production is topnotch but in picking and choosing the winners, it is really questionable. One judge answered the question what was the criteria to advanced in top 20 , top 20 and top 10 are selected by the MGI ORG and when it's top 5 that's the time they judge the candidates but still if they choose A to win Nawat has the final say so if Nawat wants B to win then that's the winner. It's according to Ariska Putri Pertiwii (former miss grand int.) (she's also a judge)

I have a hard time thinking it makes sense that they would sacrifice their own home country getting a placement in order to seem unbiased given everything. But I do think the president of the organization is extremely problematic and his actions are infuriating. However, There is definitely something irrational about the placements and it does not make sense why Philippines, Thailand, Panama etc. were not given a placement. I don’t think anyone that placed was undeserving nor do I wanna say that either but there was a huge chunk of people that deserved more. It felt like the placements were so inconsistent ???
I think Thailand’s exclusion of top 20 may have more to do with the discrimination against black contestants in the pageant industry more then MGI trying to cover up bias

Great analysis, my friend. Spot on! I’ve been following MGI since 2016. From my observation it has always been Nawat’s personal pageant. It is seemingly his day at the sandbox with his real life Barbies. I enjoy watching MGI because it’s fun and entertaining, but I can’t take it seriously until it legitimizes it’s judging and scoring. Having said that, Samantha and Hazel deserved better.

You hit the nail in the head by emphasizing the pageant's credibility. That's what MGI is lacking. What do you do in a pageant where the owner decides who makes it to semis and the finals, not the set of judges? If the owner (Nawat) has an axe to grind to the country, he will take revenge. This is so true when we talk about his angst against the Philippines and yet he always hypes the representative but drops it like a hot potato in the end. It's a Grand Scam of Things.

Same thoughts here, Luis. But honestly, after what happened to Samantha Bernardo last year, I already expected this. And as Ariska Putri, one of the judges, revealed in her Instagram post, the credibility of MGI went down the drain. Ariska revealed that the panel of judges only participated in the finals night to choose the top 5. The initial screening is usually done by Nawat, Teresa and Abina. And it's Nawat who's making the choices who are advancing to Top 20. So it means, technical skills won't count . Nawat has all the reasons for doing so, it's his business strategy, let's give it to him, but I agree with you. It'll affect MGI's credibility.

What I am pointing out is, Miss Philippines not placing even in the top 20 shows how Mr. Nawat bears grudge and it affects his professionalism. As I have said, give it to him because its his business and he has the right to do that, but still credibility is at stake.

i totally agreed with you luis. its the mgi organization's credibility (if there is). filipino's are competetive, it's one of our strength. we fight fair and square but with mgi, i dont think that philippines or the local organizer should not send any candidates as it was just a waste of time, money and effort not only for the candidate but for the local organizer as well. We have lost 3 beauty queens in mgi, snatched the crown. it's really nawat's bitterness to the Philippines back in 2018 when Catriona won. #boycottmgi
