there are several reasons why we love your channel. Primarily it's your honest and open commentary. you share what works and what does not. Being a boat owner with 5 children your traveling and going through the process of preparation and it's rewards helps me to inspire and teach what can be done with our boat. We love the Q&A as well as your travel videos. Keep up the great work, looking forward to seeing more. Dave Butler Anderson Island

Hi Jason. You must be doing an engine and equipment check each day before you set sail, how about showing some of the tech stuff about the boat it`s self. Have you thought of beaching the boat and careening the hull and cleaning the props and rudders. Also while on the beach you could film the state of the hull and underwater gear for future reference.
I enjoy the Q&A. Knowing the process of how problems are "worked out" has always been fascinating for me. I appreciate your sharing of your learning process. Just seeing the sunshine and warm weather is heartening for those of us in snow. Fair winds and following seas.
While bonefishing in Sandy Point, Abaco a few years back, the guides would keep a couple cudas every day. I asked how they knew whether the fish had ciguatera or not and they told me their secret for testing it. First, you fillet the fish quickly and get it on ice immediately. At the end of the day you deliver a nice fresh piece to your neighbor and put the rest in your icebox overnight. The next morning you knock on your neighbor's door and if he opens it, the fish is OK to eat.
It's part two of our casual Q&A. What did you think? Love it, don't really care, prefer us to stick to adventures? We're thinking of doing a Q&A once per month. Maybe we'll set a focus like technology, cats, solar, off-the-grid, lithium batteries, sailing, favorite bahamas spots, kitchen gadgets, etc. We'd really like to know what you think becaue we're making these videos to share the ENTIRE experience. We want to share the fun adventures, the epic fails and the details on how we make this lifestyle works for us. We'd love to share daily but it's just the two of us, but we do think tossing in a more casual video here and there will allow us to stay in touch more often. Share in the comments below, but remember we're people so please be kind with any words of criticism. See ya Sunday - Jason, Nikki, Cleo and Singa (from S/V Curiosity floating somewhere in the Abacos)
keep them coming, we love seeing your videos...(living vicariously, lol). btw, even in the shallows there are good eating fish. you may want to learn about catching live bait, start with sabikis, then maybe cast nets. you can catch the live bait and put it back out on a small circle hook without having to move from your anchor spot. we have caught Spanish and cero mackerel, lane and mangrove snappers, triggerfish, and others in less than 15 feet of water especially when in lesser populated hangouts. 15 - 20 pound line is plenty. Good luck.
Love your videos including the casual Q&A. As a matter of fact one of the more enjoyable aspects of your videos is the casual friendly atmosphere that you seem to create. Wishing you great success with your adventure. And as the old salts say, wishing you fair winds and following seas.
Good on you Wynn's. Your livin' our dream, glad we could share it vicariously. Fair wynn's and following seas always. Loving your adventure, your smart to persue it while your young. Life can throw many obsticles in your path, so live every day to its fullest!
You guys are so cute - we have followed you for several years and learned a lot from you about RV'ing. We're on our 2nd year full timing. At Salton Sea right now!! Luv you two!
Just wanted to say we are still following your adventures and hope to follow you. We have been RVing for years and loved what you did with your videos. We are retiring soon and trading the RV for a Sailboat. Just keep doing what you have always done and we will keep watching. Thank You
I love this format. Please do many more, and do not restrict repetition, we all need reminders less than than we need references to other videos. (Sorry, a lot of TH-camrs are doing that these days, not that you are, just .... well you understand.) The questions are endless, from old and new audiences alike.
I use small 3/8" glass beads in a 2 part litter tray. I have a strong mesh bag and just hang the "used" beads over board for a hour to wash them. When I had a dog I used a 2 part litter tray with a piece of plastic turf. A movable ozone generator (that I run a couple of times a week) in the laundry room where the trays are located.
Really am enjoying following your adventures and all the things you are learning. My wife and I are preparing to do the same thing but not for a few years. Cheers.
Its pretty unlikely I'll ever sail my own boat, as I'm quite happy being a land lubber, hundreds of miles away from the ocean. However, I quite enjoy seeing your regular videos and the occasional Q&A. Very few people have the chance to fly their own plane or race their own F1 car, climb Mount Everest or build an electric guitar from an old cigar box. Yet all these things and more are available vicariously and on-demand via their smart phones. You have built up a huge following despite all the competing interests of other channels that are expanding exponentially. I recommend you just carry on enjoying each other, your beautiful cats and Cat, and just post your doings that you feel passionate about and appeal to yourselves. If you post it, people will watch it. Very few viewers really bother to make significant "neutral" or helpful, supportive comments unless they are dedicated subscribers who have "adopted" their chosen uploaders. Your Patreons are your guide to preferred content, and the critics who are free with their negativity should be totally ignored, because they waste your positive energy, they don't represent any other viewer's belief or value system, and don't really care about what eventually happens in your lives.
You two are amazing. Thank you so much for documenting your adventures. your channel has really inspired my wife and I to travel and see as much of the beautiful world as we can. I cant wait for the next episode. I wish you two the best of luck on your journey.
Absolutely love your Q&A video's! Looks like your cat enjoys them also! Having followed your adventures for some time, I can honestly say that your greatest asset in any situation is each other. You guys are such a huge inspiration to all who follow your adventures! Safe travels...
I am hooked on your adventures. I am a retired engineer and an photography enthusiast mostly outdoor photography. I love your videography and still shots,, your professionalism and knowledge shows. I have a few questions: 1) Do you Carry extra sails in case weather damages? 2) What kind of medical supplies do you carry for yourselves and your cats? 3) What about spare parts, electrical wire, duct Tape and such? 4) Sat phone? Thanks and keep up the good work.
Hey Dave, 1 - Not yet 2 - general sailing medical kit, nothing major. This will change when we go further out to sea. 3 - Lots of spare parts for reparis 4 - Iridium Go
I do enjoy your Q&A, I feel I get to know you better, not just the sailing. I'm new to the sailing thing and learn a lot from your experiences. It's nice that your tablet color matched the ocean, that was a nice touch. Keep up the good work.
Congrats to the both of you! Very interesting info about how you planned the first crossing. It answered for me, the why you left the dock @H.T.M.@ 2:30 in the AM! Looks like you will/are assimilating into your NEW lifestyle! Sure are envious of ALL that fresh water, along with the "freedom" to make more! Stay safe out there and God bless.
When things go so well that you can't think of things you'd do differently then you are doing something right! It is funny that my first experience with you two was Nikki's instruction on the Natures Head and then yesterday I randomly found Jason's instruction on the control panel for the Magnum inverter charger... also what I installed on my boat! Thanks AGAIN as Jason showed me how to check SOC and use %.
Hi Guys. If you have not already got a sponsorship from Leopard Cats then you should ask for one. You are the very advertisment for this brand there could be in a practical situation. There are others doing what you are doing on TH-cam but they are not using their cats as they were designed to be used with one group who motored almost all the way from Florida to the Bahamas. You are giving a lot of people the courage to just go out and Do It. Enjoy the vids much. David. Down Under.
Merry Christmas to my favorite sailors, & Sailing Cats, My cat Madeleine watches your vlogs, 2 paws up! The other four are sleeping soundly at nearly noon. I had a thought wouldn't it be great if Amazon delivered to boats with drones, lol
You guys are so sweet and I love watching you guys. If it was anyone else I would be too jealous of the fact that you sail full time ( my dream ) to watch .
the great thing about this format is that if we dont like Q&A we can move to another one of yours we do like... but having said that i must say i do like Q&A....Keep on Keepin on!
Oh! One important thing I learned from an old Sailor who has had cats onboard. He taught his cat to get back onboard with a towel hanging off the aft part of his boat. I plan to do the same. I'm not sure I'll purposely teach him to swim yet though I'm sure it would be a good idea. Losing my cat overboard would break my heart. ❤️
Q&A and adventures. Y'all are covering a wide spectrum of viewers doing both I like action and adventures but sometimes like Q&A and conversation/and even stories of adventures. So cool you forewarn people at beginning of video "this one's gonna be slow move on if you don't like slow paced". Instead of promising action on a slower video.
Loved the videos! The Q & A are a great idea, it gives us viewers a more detailed look into the workings of the things that can't be explained visually! Have you guys come across any sailers with dogs on their boats? We love cats but are allergic, so its a dog house over here. Oh yea, and that video where the bird got in....I almost had a heart attack! Good thing Singa was a little sleepy or it would have been a snack. Also, we are finally headed to Florida over the holidays and we will be able to grab that WiFi booster we bought from you guys. It may find its way on to our camper van while we await the (hopefully soon) purchase of our airstream - finding the model in the year we want is tough. And as much as I cannot wait to be in the airstream living full time, I am dreaming of the day we get to sail. So for now, I will have to live through you sailers, at least until I have my husband thinking it is his idea to be a sailer!! Wishing you happy sailing & smooth seas
So, I watched a lot of your RV adventures but lost touch during your Alaska trip. I checked in to see what you guys were up to, and find out you are on a boat. I LOVE it! Only took me 4 days of binge watching to catch up. Congratulations on all your accomplishments and well wishes for all of your further adventures. Re-subbed.
You could grow microgreens and sprouts. They do not take up a lot of room at all and you have plenty of sunshine.....sunflower microgreens are so yummy!
I was going to say the same thing. Sailing Uma has a lot of info on retro-fitting their mono-hull with an electric motor, (using a forklift motor!), the batteries they use, etc. If you like the Wynns, you'll like Dan and Kika. Really cool kids with a mission.
Post what interests you. Don't try to second guess us. We've been here for a long time and we're up to speed. The experience that you share gives us a chance to come along and while the sailing, swimming and fishing are fun, if we were along, we would also experience a head backing up.
Thanks for the Q&A! Always love learning more about your lives and what it's like living your life. Seems weird but it's like a getting-to-know you session. Another beautiful vid. Thanks.
I am enjoying watching your "adventures" and the progression you've taken from a motorhome to your beautiful catamaran. I started out with powerboats on Lake Erie; then moved to a 37' motorhome traveling the US; then bought waterfront property in eastern North Carolina; and now am developing a new love for sailing. I've spent most of my life on the water and have lost some friends because they thought they were "invincible" when going out on deck in rough seas without a life jacket or on a safety line. What would happen to your plans if one of you got swept overboard and the other couldn't retrieve you? I am enjoying the videos because you both are on a personal quest. You both are high energy people living your dreams with purpose: GO FOR IT... but do it safely! Cal Sherman
I made it all through both parts in a row (actually a second time). And yes: I'm interested. But it's also really a pleasure to watch you "rambling". ^^ Keep it up!
My question is, what kind of maintenance is required for a RO water treatment system. For example how often do you clean the filter. Heck, if you want, why not just make a video on it!!!!
Niki have you looked at Yo Nana machines? They make awesome ice cream and you just use fruit. Frozen bananas are the staple in the recipes (but you can't taste the banana0 and you add fruit and out comes amazing ice cream. I know it's a gadget and it takes space but it's totally worth it. Also, if you have a vitamix, they make ice cream too. But the YoNana machine makes really, really good ice cream. It comes with a recipe book and there are all sorts of exotic flavors you can make.
When you said you would tell Jason to stop spending so much time on the toilet, I was like "Wow, let's just put that out there". Then I remembered the toilet issues.
have you thought about making your own icecream, so that you just have to buy local fruits/ coconut and save money and have the supply according to demand.
Jason, get Niki a frozen container ice cream maker for Christmas. We made ice cream while we were making water as we had to use the generator anyway. I would love to see more about your voyage planning and navigation. The wind at your back, D.
Hey guys! I LOVE the Q&A's! Really interesting to hear about the day to day. Still working on getting back onto my Patreon account!. Merry Christmas! What are the New Years eve?
if you get sea sick and need a quick fix, try ginger! it works a charm and doesn't leave you woozy/drugged. I always keep candied on hand but you can also get capsules or just chew raw ginger root if you like spicy!
I enjoyed hearing the Q&A. At one point I had to remind myself that you are really on the ocean because it looked like a green screen behind you. :) Best wishes!
As you go further on your sailing adventures you will probably be going to more secluded places. You can use sand from the beach mixed with about a cup of baking soda for kitty litter.
big difference between a well taken care of boat and a seaworthy and keep u alive boat for blue water sailing u need the latter safe sailing luv the vids
I enjoy all your videos! Including these q&a's!!! I guess my request would to be to keep making a mix of travel vs. everyday videos = I like seeing the good as well as the more realistic ones, 🐶
Marsh harbour was pretty expensive. Do your shopping at Spanish wells instead if you are passing by, much better prices. Don't miss the petting sharks and the beautiful beach at the Compass cay.
Professional, in a good way, as ever. You make these episode seem effortless and smooth. Should we thank the editor?!? Great stuff and all effort bring splendid result.
Ciao, I am Elisa from Italy, I love sailing and I loooove watching you since you bought this catamaran. Q&A are very interesting, any vision or idea or thought you have about your life is very interesting to know. I wish one day me and my husband could go around the Mediterranean Sea with our boat.... Only, if possible, please give us more details about the sailings: techniques, what you did, what you choose and why, etc... Take care and buon Vento to both of you. Baci, Elisa
Elisa Sagramoso We hope you get to take that dream sail! I think you're asking about how we learned to sail? Check out our blog for sailing school videos & more: www.gonewiththewynns.com/sailing
I busted out laughing and had to back up the vid to listen again, wait I am still chuckling a bit. OK, your cat made me laugh so much, I adore my cats,(one inside and one outside) yet it seems when doing things, like filming or on the PC or knitting, My cat has to be in the frame, or my desk (she loves my desk) So your cat made me laugh so much, cleaning away not a care and you doing the Q&A. One Question: Will you practice rescue while under sail? I feel you need to practice I advise it, also there is only two of you, one can film and one can nav the rescue! Please do these types of drills!
Thank you for a great video.. Very informative and detailed. I have enjoyed all of your videos. I was interested in your medical supplies and medicines for emergencies?
I enjoy the Q&A's. Love all your Vlogs. Just keep doing what your doing! Would like to see a little more on you cooking, meals etc as you must have limited access to supermarkets/grocery stores and I'm not sure how successful your fishing is! Stay happy and stay safe.
I remember you mentioning that you wish you knew not to ask for little add-on's by contractors, you know those little "oh by the ways" that end up taking more time and money than you expected... I was surprised you didn't mention that.
In case of problems with cats it should be enough to explain that they are "living food" for you. Since there would be no problem with living fish you caught for dinner few hours ago (or as a matter of fact you keep still in the ocean) there should be no problems with cats for supper. :-)
Hey I just got back from Marsh Harbor took a 54 foot beneteau there. according to my good friend who I did the delivery with the Caribbean is a much nicer place with much more friendly people!! Also make sure to do a real passage being away for a few days in the middle of the ocean is a life changing experience. Look into the Over view effect it's a very interesting idea. also The long way by Bernard Moitesier is a great book on the spiritual nature of sailing.

Re-subbed.
Nice Q&A, and by the way, that cat is a camera Diva :)
Great video! Love watching you guys ive seen a bunch of your videos I'd love to travel the world like you guys, your my inspiration
I cant wait to get sailin again. I dont know about now but back when i first went sailing all i needed was a pleasure craft operators card.
You could grow microgreens and sprouts. They do not take up a lot of room at all and you have plenty of sunshine.....sunflower microgreens are so yummy!
Yes please continue the Q&As. Very good videos
I love you guys! You both are the absolute GQ couple of the sailing world,
Very helpful video to help us all understand the adventure.
On electric drives; Sailing Uma crew are experimenting.. great QA guys!
Going out of Port Everglades can be VERY tricky - whirlpools and all of that :) - hope you are still having fun out there....smooth sailing!
"Don't spend sooo much time on the toilet" means something very different in our house...
Phone time
Thanks for the Q&A! Always love learning more about your lives and what it's like living your life. Seems weird but it's like a getting-to-know you session. Another beautiful vid. Thanks.
Loved this episode due to the Cats interaction with you all on the table! I like Singa!
Great job guys me and my family enjoy your videos and love your adventures keep up the great work and stay safe oh and Merry Christmas !!!!!
Variety is good. Q/A's are fun. the time-travel question was pretty interesting. Very good question. we should probably all be asking ourselves that.
You will be forever preparing your yacht, there is and always will be something to fix or renew
+james Hahahha!
have you thought about making your own icecream, so that you just have to buy local fruits/ coconut and save money and have the supply according to demand.
Don't forget to 'get estimates first'... Love your videos!
Love theese kind of videos! Seen with my Mohito on my lap, i wonder if he would be as good sailercat as yours! Fair winds!
Again, you two are awesome.
Great Q & A! Regarding electric drive retrofit, check out sailing Uma.
+jrh0369 I hadn't even thought of that and it is a fantastic idea! Thanks!
big difference between a well taken care of boat and a seaworthy and keep u alive boat for blue water sailing u need the latter safe sailing luv the vids
I enjoy all your videos! Including these q&a's!!! I guess my request would to be to keep making a mix of travel vs. everyday videos = I like seeing the good as well as the more realistic ones,
🐶
Hey guys, LOVE the Q&A. What were you sipping on during the talk???
+skthumperd Iced tea. For this one...
Long Island maybe.
Greatjob guys. For electric propulsion..look at Electric Yachts & Oceanvolt.
Another Great informative Video. Knowing what you know now, What would you change if you start buying boat from scratch ?
Marsh harbour was pretty expensive. Do your shopping at Spanish wells instead if you are passing by, much better prices.
Don't miss the petting sharks and the beautiful beach at the Compass cay.
Great video, your variety of videos is good. Any new toys on the horizon, drones, paddle boards, etc.
I was wondering if you guys would consider adding a date and time to your videos since you post so much later. Just as a frame of reference. 😁
Professional, in a good way, as ever. You make these episode seem effortless and smooth. Should we thank the editor?!? Great stuff and all effort bring splendid result.
We’re the film crew, the sound engineers, editors and script team...it’s sooo much work but a labor of love for sure :)
you guys are never boring, but a cat video would be nice lol
Great Video ... On the "fly" normal video ... Really enjoyed it ... Thank you ... :)
I am jealous of your adventure! God bless!
I love most seafood however conch reminds me of eating rubber bands.
As far as the video? Always love watching your videos.
In case of problems with cats it should be enough to explain that they are "living food" for you. Since there would be no problem with living fish you caught for dinner few hours ago (or as a matter of fact you keep still in the ocean) there should be no problems with cats for supper. :-)
just curious, is you camera on a gimbal? it seems the boat moves a little with regard to the camera?
Hey I just got back from Marsh Harbor took a 54 foot beneteau there. according to my good friend who I did the delivery with the Caribbean is a much nicer place with much more friendly people!! Also make sure to do a real passage being away for a few days in the middle of the ocean is a life changing experience. Look into the Over view effect it's a very interesting idea. also The long way by Bernard Moitesier is a great book on the spiritual nature of sailing.
why don't you make your own ice cream
