"Reflection might lead to insight about something not noticed in time, pinpointing perhaps when the detail was missed. Reflexivity is finding strategies to question our own attitudes, thought processes, values, assumptions, prejudices and habitual actions, to strive to understand our complex roles in relation to others."
I just keep coming back to this video again and again and again. Such an amazing explaination of such a intangable subject...thats take some talent to do such a thing! Thank you so much
Thank you for the presentation. I gained clarity on the meanings of reflection, critical reflection and reflexivity and also the interrelationship between them.
Thank you! I am a pre-service teacher and I get stuck in an assignment about reflexivity. Even though you are talking about reflexivity in social work, I can see how relevant it is to teaching. Great explanation.
If your intention is to redistribute power then that appears to involve taking power from some to give to others for example parents to children This might beg further questions for example are parents able to function with less power and secondly are children sufficently mature to exercise that power in their best interests?
This video is awesome. Thank you for spelling these concepts out in an easy, user friendly method for me to understand. Every social worker should watch this video to help them understand the importance and moving parts of these concepts.
Thank you! I had ideas flying as I listened to your video as you explained underlying theories. You gave such illumination to the emotions that eventually empower emotional intelligence in social workers.
This is an amazing video and I will share with my classmates! So good to see you break down the word reflexivity- especially with relation to the power dynamic that comes when we “flex” super cool! Subscribed
