This looks really good, I loved the other new take on astroboy with Naoki Urasawa's Pluto, but I am a bit bummed the original series hasn't got the same attention. I would love to read the original run, but have never been able to find the darkhorse omnis. Hopefully the manga gets handed over to some other publisher with interest in printing it, hopefully this time unflipped. Tezuka's impact on manga is immense, but we don't get to see much of it in English.

I picked up the mexican editions of this and they are great. I did a bit of reseach and apparently its some sort of mix of a prequel, reimagining and alt version of Astro Boy so you arent wrong. I've read up to volume 6 and the sports aspect stays but it gets a lot more scienctific too, kinda like a mix between real steel and i, robot.

Jetter mars is character that osamu tezuka med in the 70s som look like Astro boy because Osamu tezuka have copyright issues in the 70s
