Most South Koreans kpop stans nowadays are unfortunately focused on the visuals more than the vocals. The girl wearing the black shirt is most likely one of them. Though I do admit when I first saw Kbye I found the modern rendition of the traditional clothes a bit jarring but that's because their compamy was still new and was more like testing certain things out with their clothes. Let's be real their fashion in their first few MVs was really out there which is great for fans but not for every people new to the group especially those unaware of Filipino culture or have cultural bias against it.
I felt like the girl in black shirt was being cheeky. She's focusing on the weirdest things, being too goofy, it's like she wanted something to subtly poke fun at so she could have something to laugh about. She gives off pomposity. And maybe i'm reading too much into it and she likely just wanted to be playful and funny but idk, the things she said rubbed me the wrong way.

the game is called luksong tinink (the best i could translate that to english is jumping thorns) the dance include tinikling (the one with bamboo sticks) edit: singkil apparently, the two dances uses bamboo sticks which is probably easy to confuse

It's a very vague term, because modern Filipino music is a mixture of Indigenous, American, Spanish and other Asian music styles. If your definition of being "Filipino" or "Filipino music" is just speaking in Tagalog or Filipino dialect, then you can probably try listening to the other songs in their album, they have songs in Filipino language 😊. Oh by the way, even if they speak English, Spanish or Korean, they are very proud to be Filipinos and they are working very hard to represent our country in other parts of the world. 😁

Does that make them not Filipinos? You have to remember our history is heavily influenced by other cultures. The styling and music (OPM) of modern Filipinos were also influenced by the western world, especially the Americans, so what's wrong with adapting and being influenced by the other culture aside from the Americans? That doesn't mean they're not Filipinos anymore and that doesn't mean their music is not Filipino. Other groups are heavily influenced by Koreans as well, SB19 is one example of that (you can see that their music and styling were heavily influenced by the Korean group Bigbang). Besides that, Hori7on is set for the Global stage, and one of their marketing strategies is probably to attract kpop viewers first. The traditional dance in Maharani is actually Singkil. Its from Maranao people of Muslim Mindanao.
The common denominator is pop not kpop..the reason the music is familiar is because of its genre which is pop not kpop

The name of the traditonal dance is not Tinikling (folk dance from Visayas) but the Singkil ( dance from the Maranaos of Mindanao)
