My G19 gen2 went into service as my on-duty firearm in 1991. In 2013 my job transitioned to the G23. In 2019 the job took away the G23, then issued the G45. As of 2018, my original G19 is back to work on my daughter's hip since it's an approved on-duty weapon at her job. G19 gen2... 22 years in the street, now 2 years in the courts. G19 gen2... I just bought a Glock 19 Gen 2 from a pawn shop for 299. Perfect condition no damage. Didn't come with original tupperware, but it's in such amazing shape! Shot about 100 rounds through it and it's a tack driver, extremely accurate and no problems. So happy I bought it! Also ran the serial numbers and it's from 1994.

Only replaced the recoil spring because it had the original two piece spring and rod that separate and was a pain in the dick to put back in lol. I think I’m gonna buy a 19 slide and barrel for it so I can just swap the slides and have two guns

I was all about 1911's when I was in the military. Then I became a cop and was DISGUSTED when they handed me that G21....at least it was a 45 right? (Tried to give me a G19 at first but I pouted enough that my star corporal relented and gave me a G21 instead....shoulda listened to him). Then I did everything I could to break that gun....and failed, duh! I was a small arms instructor in the Navy and even got to participate in some T&E on new platforms. I am a trained and certified armorer (yes it's on my "I love me wall") and I did things to that 21 that would have made any 1911 I ever owned cough and die and that ugly bastard kept running. The 1911 is the hot blonde you show off to your friends. The Glock is that steady girl who has your back no matter what you can show off to your enemies. Yeah shes got some extra curves on her. But she will always take care of you!

I carried a 1911 for years in the Army. Then the M9. I purchased a used G19 Gen 2 because I could not pass on the price. Wow! I admit openly that the Glock is as about attractive as an old refrigerator in the garage that never quits. The G19 slowly became my conceal carry. I use a kydex trigger guard to prevent any accidental discharge when not carrying in a proper holster. This G19 never has a misfire, failure to feed or eject. As you stated above; My 1911 is like a sexy girl. But the G19 is like the girl you trust to be there, and be ready. I can talk for hours about what I don't like about it, but I'm not getting rid of it either. When in Israel I learned that Israelis are only allowed to own one (1) handgun by law. The top selling handgun in Israel... the G19.

Good honest video. Ive been a NRA firearms instructor since 1988 when the plastic gun came out. Colt 1911s, Browning HiPowers, Sigs & Glocks were the only pistols reliably used back then in the police world. Civilians were using whatever their grandfathers gave em . . . As we were training, everything else OTHER than Glocks were giving folks lots of problems on the range during qualifications. Folks didnt really trust Glocks back then - the plastic factor. BUT they hung in their. The G19 came out and changed EVERYTHING. Folks that couldn't qualify with whatever handgun they were using WERE able to qualify with a G19. The Ruger MkII .22 pistols were PERFECT training pistols for teaching marksmanship principles,...then moving NOVICE shooters to a g19 was DRAMATIC. lots of confidence. In a killer caliber. And there yas have it. From the 1980s. THEN in the mids 2000s - the Navy Seals realized the G19 was a G R E A T handgun, -had a standardized picitany rail slot for a light- and the finger grooves & some had the RTF stippling. BETTER than a Sig P226 - GREAT GUN - but the G19 was tougher,... and the G19 exploded. to this present day. THE STANDARD. Buy a fucking Glock & shoot. Ask Clint. DVC.

I like your pragmatic approach and i share it. Own a G17 Gen4, +4000 rounds through, full stock except the connector replaced by Glock's minus one and a light manual polishing of trigger group: plenty accurate at 25 meters, NEVER had a malfunction, no complain. When you keep shooting a Glock, you keep learning about your own skills and that 's probably the most important!

Couldn't agree with you more. The first Glock 19 (a Gen 2) is the perfect handgun. Don't need the other stuff they added to later Gen's...Don't need an accessory rail for CCW... People say other pistols are more accurate...rubbish...can still cut a business card turned sideways at 7 yds or put 10 shots on a business card at 20 yds. Glock are very accurate and that's out of the box...never adjusted the sights. Also love the Gen 2 Glock 26...another perfect Glock !! A local range rents Glocks. Some of those rentals have had 250000 rounds through them without a failure or breakdown. Doubt any other pistol made could do the same. A police captain who taught handgun classes carried a Gen 2 Glock 19 and would routinely throw it 15 yds down the range concrete floor to demonstrate it would not discharge...it never failed. Net is that you are right...the best pistol ever made. Took Glock Armourers course...Glock recommended to use Break Free for all cleaning and lubrication...a great product. It never dries up over time like most gun oils.

  • @0311FRANK

    19s are the If-you-can-only-own-one-gun pistol.
Our department allows us to chose our duty from either 17, 19, 22, 23, and 21. All can be carried off duty.
We are allowed to chose for back up and off duty either 26, 43, 27, 30S, and 36 (not sure if 43X has been approved yet). Or a snubby that's Colt, S&W, or Ruger.
So the majority choose 17s. I carry a 17 as my duty gun because I prefer to carry a full size on duty. Heck, a chick that I went to the academy with went with a 17 because she felt she could not get good purchase on the grip of a 19. I simply prefer a full size. And I love the interchangeable back straps because I have giant mitts and the extended beaver tail helps with my grip.
For my back up I carry a 26. I also carry the 26 off duty because, while I have a better grip on the 17 than a 19, the 26 is more concealable than the 19. I absolutely love that gun. And I'm a big guy. Before I came into this job I carried a Government model 1911 and occasionally an FNP-45. I was able to do it OK, but I was starting to look for something that I wasn't so self conscious about printing.
So apparently I'm an idiot because I don't carry a 19 as my duty weapon and a 19 as my back-up and I don't carry a 19 concealed off duty. I guess I should only do a 19 for all of those. That way, when I got 3-4 junkies in an abandoned house or a gang banger matching a description in the vicinity of yet another shooting I can just dual wield two 19s.
    But I don't do that. I carry a 17 and a 26.
And I've seen multiple occasions on the range at work where the stock sights have broken off. Why I had Trijicon HDs put on.
    But fuck me, right?!

I like gen 4 19. And I know other people that also like the gen 4. I like the finger grooves and the thumb thing. Not because my thumb goes there when shooting, obviously, but when manipulating the gun, press checks, racking, etc I use it for tension as I have smaller hands. Same with the finer grooves. They help me force the gun deeper into my hand (between thumb and index finger)

I dont know which I enjoy more...the videos, or the comments 😂
I just added a G21 Gen 2 to my modest collection yesterday. I believe it was an LEO trade in, and it's in great condition. After cleaning it and lubing i, I put 200 rounds through it flawlessly, and it is more accurate than I can shoot it.
I own several pistols in different calibers and from different companies, but Glocks are my number one choice by far.
I am a 9mm fan, but having said that, if it came down to being in a self-defense scenario I would much rather have my G22 .40, or my G21 .45 any day than a 9mm.
To each his own , but the G19 is still and always will be a most versatile choice for many.
    Great video brother!
