It's rare for me to see a green screen on TH-cam that actually convinces me that the person is in the scene, but damn this was close.

us I thought you guys did a great job, (first time viewer) but I bought Wolfies silly real-estate course, I think.
It's because they went to the effort to actually replicate the scene lighting and other effects from the green screen video, which is rad as hell
YES!! It was a really strong immersion technique. It kept the thesis of the video in mind and while presenting the evidence throughout. Good job Wisecrack.

I'm sure it added a lot to the cost of production, but working Jared into the movies was kinda awesome.

Ok putting yourself in the scenes that actually looks realistic while narrating was amazing. Got my sub.
Seeing Jared inserted in some portions of the movie while explaining things is so great and ingenious.

this is like film theory mixed with film deconstructionism but the tourist idea I think it's the most interesting way I've seen done when it comes to film deconstruction since nerdwriter or entertain the elk. I like that you purposely differentiate yourself from video essays in this format.
I love how the ending scene completes the cycle. Even the people look similar to everyone else he met before.

I really liked the effect you created, sitting in the movie itself. Nice style! Might I suggest a directionality of voice when someone is on screen (so it sounds like they're in the room), rather than the narration omnipresence like the rest of the time.

Good work on not only the spoken content of the video, but on the technical qualities of the video itself. That's a lot of effort to match camera angles to pull this off so well, and the person behind it, especially the pan over the crowd to insert the speaker so seamlessly, is a genius and should be lauded. First time I comment on wisecrack and I will tell you something, it is one of the best things I learned about recently. In less than a month I saw all 8 bit philosophy, most of earthling cinema, a lot of thumb notes, deep or dumb and the philosophy behind everything. Your channel is awesome, I learned about by the School of Life and could not stop watching ever since. It is nice to see that you can still find meaning and much more in a lot of pop content that we like but never thought that deep about it.

My thoughts were exactly on #1 after having the screen pause on the people. Reminded me that everyone no matter the ethnicity, age, male or female, short or tall is going after success. With 3 people giving similar answers it's just a reminder of how we're all the same with the mediocre habits living mediocre lives looking for someone else to come and change our lives for us.
Damn the amount of time that went into the greenscreening and lighting of these shots is amazing. If you've got the time and crew to keep making videos like this, I'm here for every one of em.
People here are commenting on your editing skills which are great but I really like the details you give on the ending scene which really is the crux of the movie for me.... Im happy you picked it, but you forgot another scene just before this ending sell me this pen scene.
That scene is even more powerful as it shows in contrast the hero of the movie, the incorruptible FBI agent who refused bribe offer earlier in the movie finally succeeding in putting Jordan behind the bars, not for himself but for the society's greater good. Yet he is going back home all alone and gloomy while watching an old couple sitting right in front of him, all gloomy and cold, making him realize that he is looking at his future destiny right in front of him that he will continue to travel in that subway till death in that mediocre life. In contrast, Jordan with all his excesses and evils will continue to be loved and admired by common public who will happily get fleece by listening to his lectures. What a brilliant and powerful ending scene!
Funny that you see the subway scene like that. I saw it more as an appreciation of the old couple who represent all normal people which were given justice. I see it as the dude admiring or observing the very people that he works for, it doesn't seem as gloomy future, to me its just the peace of a job well done.

Probably only because its the first of its kind, and a pilot. I personally found it enhanced most parts of the content by adding visual context.
I also thought it was a bit distracting, but Ive never seen the wolf of wall street, so maybe ill feel differently when he is in scenery that I'm more familiar with. I freaking love this channel and am gonna watch all of all of their shows.

The content is great too but I want to see how else they insert him (or other hosts) into other movies... I'm sure it'll be amazing like this one was and I'm sure it took an insane amount of work/editing to do as well as they did

Most channels when they grow up they buy a new RED camera or blackmagic to shoot some cinematic footage that they could shoot with a $600 📷... You did something really good by injecting (a la holmes style) the detective into the scene.
