In texas you can do a private sale. The paperwork isn't required. The ATF may have "rules." But if it's not a law, it does not apply.

If you have any drugs offenses on your record they'll know you lied then it's a matter of proving it with a drug test. Until it's legalized citizens must choose one or the other. In my opinion, infringement is infringement.

There must be millions of Americans who caught a petty drug charge as a young adult, and that doesn't prevent any of them from legally buying and carrying guns as responsible, sober citizens.

@@jeremywilson15147 I agree with you that the past isn't an indicator on current drug usage, the fact remains that if you have drug offenses on your record, the ATF will see that and an assumption would be made that you are a current user. I'm not saying it's right but on the form for my ks7 and my Glock both the question of drug usage came up.

Since there is no "criminal case" in purchasing a firearm, and because you're not being "compelled" to purchase a firearm, the 5th Amendment doesn't apply.
