Hey Marvin I had a question about the OG black/red jordan 11. My brother had a pair when I was a kid, and maybe I am remembering incorrectly, but I swear on his pair is said Jumpman across the sole, similar to what we see on preschool and infant sizing on retro 11s. Have you ever seen that on a pair of OG playoff 11s in adult sizing? Or am I trippin?
Nah I’ve never seen that unless it was a sample at a size 9 or 13.

Bruh first off I’m a Chitown native born and half raised and I grew up watching Jordan when I was a kid in Chicago. I was blessed to get to watch him play in person during that era. Just wanted to say I appreciate tha content and also that I have that very same hat the original from when it came out. Idk man, that 2008 retro is what really really got me into shoes. I remember camping with my brother for those. Really my 2nd experience camping (Playoff 8’s That December prior P.S that’d be cool if they went to a different championship model instead of the 11’s & 8’s like you mentioned for holidays) I remember the OG’s in the game trashing the pair & I felt like it was truly a good shoe (especially to beat up/ I even played ball in them once or twice lol) that was my first experience of not understanding the OG’s in the sneaker culture. I get it now, especially with all the new hypebeasts that have turned the word into basically being a sneaker head, but at the same time, I still understand from a consumer & brand perspective. They gottta make a few mistakes on a retro or two or even 3 before they get it just right or on par with the OG. I really wish I got to see Jordan play tho, you guys have saw the 3 greatest players of all time simultaneously, not only that but the greatest shoes of all time. I understand feeling entitled to greatness.

The 2001 are the best looking in my opinion. I had the 2008s from the CDP and 2012s. Will be getting my 2019 pair on release date and putting them on ice until everyone beats theirs up. I still have my 2012 pair but finally starting to show signs of wear. Great vid man 👏

Thanks for review and comparison Marv. Appreciate your time and effort. Only complaint I have from the video is how you didn't compare all of them together side by side like previous comparisons. I always enjoyed watching that the most and made it easier to follow. Regardless even for someone like myself who likely can't cop I enjoy these videos.
I've messed with the idea just too many shoes to have side by side to compare without going into close up detail. At the end of the video I show all the shoes you can pause which you want to analyze and go from there. Until I find an easier way to show all the shoes AND the close up details, this is always how I've done my comparison vids.

this is the only time i've seen aII 5 releases from one owner on youtube. i personally love the 2019 pair and it feels surreal that they brought it back to the way it was. after the 2012 release i stared at the 2008 and 2012 pairs and thought that this is it, every release after this is going to look like these. only thing i wish brand jordan would do is at least balance out the releases instead of releasing one particular color more often. these released 2 months after the columbia 11s yet these are already on 5. i give you a lot of credit cause comparison videos even when you know stuff it becomes a tongue twister constantly repeating the years and you did aII 5 with ease. i want to see that one website where they dissect shoes to see how close the 2019 pair is to the 1996 pair. i'd like to give brand jordan the benefit of the doubt and say it's actual carbon fiber but then again they're known to cheap out like with how they with the 2017 stealth 15s. By the way that is a dope shirt and can't believe it's been over 25 years since i first saw that shirt. i thought some cdp sneakers were nice and on point but the 11s honestly were the worst of the bunch. i think that's easy the worst 11 ever with the anniversary 11s from 2010 and space jam 11s from 2009 coming in at 2nd and 3rd worst. i agree about the box issues with the 2012 release, i stiII bought them but that's JB being JB. if any other company cheated out like JB or been sneaky like JB they would have been out of business but JB has history and people just gravitate to it. i am convinced MJ hired aII his unemployed high school friends and they keep coming up with these crazy ideas. hahaha i did not expect the popeye's analogy. i seriously need to stop leaving essay or research paper length comments. happy holidays MJO and thank you for taking the time to do this detailed comparison.

Just copped my 2019s off the shock drop on snkrs and I’m very happy with the way they came out. Especially with the og box and the higher patent leather. Only complaint is the carbon fiber but like you said, it’s a retro at the end of the day.

I just have the 2008 pair from the 11/12 pack but I'm on the fence about the 2019 pair. Something tells me my inner hypebeast and nostalgia will kick in and I will get a pair.

Feel you. It’s tough enough the video is 30 mins long. I’ll balance shoes being a primary focal point vs me being in front of the camera haha. I just thought it was important to tell these points I had face to camera.
"Yeeeeaah umm I'm gonna have to go ahead and sort of disagree with you there" -Bill Lumberg ....My thoughts on being cheaped out on with the carbon fiber. I feel if Nike/JB is going to give us plastic instead of carbon fiber because they produced 2 million pairs is a cop out in my opinion (If in fact that's the reason).The revenue that Nike/JB makes it's a crime to skimp on a BRED 11. I get going cheap on other models but not this one. If the cost of production is a problem then JB should produce a million pairs or a million and a half pairs. These are just my thoughts!
While I have the pair in hand, the texture is smooth on the 2019. It doesn’t feel anything like carbon fiber compared to its predecessors. I’ll take some HQ pics and do a write up on my website next week
@@mjo23dan Thanks for getting back MJO I been looking around at other reviews trying to find out whether or not there's carbon fiber in the shank. It's not going to effect my decision on buying them but I'm going to be bummed out if in fact the shank is just plastic. On another note, if it's just plastic it's going make the concord's that much more valuable in my opinion.

Not sure if you mentioned this ...but they changed the midsole after the DMP ☹️. It’s not forgiving at all and doesn’t compress like the 96,01,06. Maybe they can fix that issue one day 🙏🏾

Its wild looking at the OG's sole on the heel and the pods, it is bigger than the retros. I tried doing a sole swap on my 2000 space jams with a pair of 2019 aj futures and the out sole was to small to wrap the midsole.

The 00/01 XI's will always be the best years! The quality & comfort is second to none! I regret selling my XI collection. I had all of them. Breds, Cords & Jams, & my Jams were the cleanest pair of 2000 Jams I've ever seen. Sold them for $450 🤬 & sold my 01 Breds for $380.

Excellent review and explanation of the differences between each release. In my opinion, the releases from 00-01 were the best produced and price wasn’t hella steep either. I own every color way from 00-01. All purchased from Footlocker and only costing $120-$125! The pricing on Jordans didn’t start getting out of control until 2005 when the Jordan 16’s released for $160. This was believed to be a test run for the market. Fans and Hype beast alike didn’t back down from the price hike and so naturally they kept increasing the price. My only argument is why increase and give the consumer a product made with cheaper material? I’ll get off my soapbox now. Salute
Jordan 16s released in 2001. If you remember, MJ came out of retirement then but played the 2001-02 season mostly wearing the 17. In 2005 you had the AJ 20.
I think part of the reasons Jordans started to increase was due to increased production and design. Jordans started carrying more molded pieces and plastics which made the cost of the Jordan to increase in price. I think the test shoe was the Jordan 17. The one that came with the briefcase. It involved a lot of plastic which carried the cost which pushed retail to $200. I remember a lot of folks complaining about the price then because it was really way too much to pay for a shoe. Today, people will drop that without blinking.

I just found out I have the worst version of Breds. They do feel a bit tight. But I’m about to rock them for NYE party with pride. I’ve had them for so long they are still my 11’s. They look as good as new (except for the 23 that is cracked). Gives them character and authenticity. Peace yall.

I read that the Concords came out and mj got fined for playing in them because shoes did not match uniform but wore them anyways so tinker made the bred colorway to go with bulls colors that's why that colorway was created if I am wrong someone correct me

Awesome review. Couple things ... I have both a size 8.5 and a 9.5 pair from the 2019 release and my cabon fiber shank looks absolutely nothing like your 2019 pair. It's actually spot on with your OG. Do you think that yours might be a QC issue? The squares of your CB plate are so far apart from each other while both my pairs are slightly rounded off and almost touching with little to no spacing at all in between. The shade of the white even mimics your OG pair while your 2019 is stark white. So odd. I was so bummed to watch this review then checked both my pairs to see if they looked like yours and was relieved to find both of mine had none of the issues you brought up! (off center screen print etc) Love the content!
Possibly that and a combo of them being made at a different factory with a different date. I think it’s important to remember there were a hell of a lot of pairs made so not every single shoe is going to be the same. More differences.

Good job. Got my first pair in 01. I had the 08 pair and they were garbage. I hit on the shock drop. After all the years of garbage quality the 19 pair is a nice pair. Plan on getting another pair on the 14th.
That's not always true. The Seattle 10's have amazing leather and they still sitting in footlockers. Sometimes Jordan Brand can be nice with leather other times they cheap out.
That’s the problem. Inconsistency. That’s the most annoying part as they pick and choose which shoes get the best and worst of things.
