For anyone modeling Rock Island here, a notable fact about the Rock Island is that they were mostly in charge of delivering new EMD locomotives from La Grange to the western railroads. So including the Western Pacific, and Rio Grande locomotives were delivered by the Rock Island. This also goes for later EMD Locomotives ordered by SP, Rio Grande, etc.
Nice looking models. Hopefully second run will include B&O/C&O/WM Chessie System versions, since they rostered over 400 GP40s/-2s (many of which never made it into Chessie paint before the transition to CSX, so you really need to do the pre-Chessie versions as well - or maybe just an undecorated option since I'd like to portray the one-off EMD 50th anniversary unit, GM50). They truly were the primary road power for Chessie in the 70s and early 80s. Also, the Richmond, Fredericksburg and Potomac had a small fleet of GP40s, notably without dynamic brakes, which is notable because there are three significant grades on the line between Richmond and Alexandria, VA. Those units HAD to lead freight trains on their railroad because the line had an early and non-standard cab signal system that was not compatible with those of connecting lines. They also were set up with bi-directional controls, and had rear-facing horns for long-hood leading operation, so they did not have to be turned at the end of the line.
I have 2 DRGW GP40s, and 2 DRGW SD45s on preorder with y’all. If my wallet wasn’t on life support, I’d have preordered them all, but alas, there are not enough commas and digits in my bank account. 😂 Though if y’all would like to complete the trifecta and offer another run of DRGW tunnel motors, especially the 1994 era with the Christmas tree style lights, I’d gladly help yall suffocate my wallet some more. I would also like to respectfully request consideration for a run of RC MKT SD40-2’s and Florida East Coast’s new paint scheme on their ES44s. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK! Your products are top notch.
These are incredible gp40 models and I personally have difficulty deciding which road name that I like the best, the Rio Grande and Western Pacific are both interesting because of their personal headlight features. The L&N and Milwaukee Road models are also impressive and I am satisfied to see that the four axle locomotive gp30 and gp40 models are being offered in the "Rivet Counter" class series as I really like the early original GP pre "dash 2" series four axle EMD locomotives.
The Models look Great. I saw the first run of Western Pacific 1776. 1776 had just been repainted into the new image scheme with the solid Orange nose with Green WP and the Orange extended on the side under the Cab windows with Green numbers before the derailment. It had gone back to it's original number 3540.
I Love these models, I'm taking a look at the Rio Grande models to get for Christmas I'm looking at 3087 3089 & 3093 for me to have. I'm also liking the L&N Ones to.
Those are amazing models in the overview. My favorite would be the Chicago & North Western GP40's. It will go well with my GP50 and SD40-2 in my collection when they are released.
I believe The Milwaukee Road had some GP40s known as “Fast 40s” because they were geared for high speed service on Sprint intermodal trains between Chicago and St. Paul.
Cant wait for you guys to make Conrail GP40s some day in the future. I will also be on the look out for CSX hopefully someday. Also excited to get my preordered SD40-2s soon! Hope to see SD45Rs for Southern Pacific and Santa Fe in the coming years too.
I'm the same as a few of the others with ordering Rio Grande.... 2 Gp40s and 2 SD45s on order....side note pretty sure DRGW ended up with a few ex conrail GP40s from 3131 to 3153
5:08 is this the numberboard you wanted to show us or the one on the side of dynamic breake grills. I absolutely love your models and I think that you are the best model train manufacturer in US. Cheers from Poland
Nice locomotive model, but Frieight cars such as the Trinity 6241 plastic pellet covered hopper and the early model is a must. Many manufacturers offer the same grain hopper and different plastic pellet types are needed. Atlas has the 5250, 5701 & 5800 ACF. Walthers had made the 6200 NSC and ST and Rapido have the early ribbed side Pullman Standard and Procor respectfully. FRIEIGHT CAR AMERICA and ARI/GUNDERSON/GREENBRIER are the the remaining ones.
The gp40s for rio grande may be the correct number plates but they arnt configured for the late 80s early 90s without heavy changes on some parts. Otherwise, these units look great!
Very cool, love the big "Rio Grande" billboard lettering!

I like how basically every manufacturer is making GP40s right now
Nothing wrong with that…imo. Competition is a good thing in the free market.

Since the D&RGW mostly used GP40's and SD45's west of Grand Junction, I've pre-order Rio Grande GP40 and SD45's and looking forward to them.
Nice, but I'm anxious to see CB&Q and Rock Island versions!
5:20 Mine too!. Excited to see these hit the shelves

Can't wait to see them in IC paint

5:16 Was caught so off guard by this one, laughed my head off more than I'm proud to admit. Solid Duran Duran reference for a solid loco👌
Very awesome gp40s! The detail on them looks fantastic especially the Rio grande and the western pacific ones. You guys did a fantastic job at these.
Love the L&N. Beautiful models for sure!!

Will you be doing these in N scale as well?
I’m loven the C&NW!
Fun fact, the DRGW 3092 is still alive today. Operating on the Genesee & Wyoming’s St Lawrence & Atlantic in Maine numbered 3004.
Thanks for sharing 👍
Schedule the Benton, Kansas RPM the first weekend in November 😊
Are you going to do a rerun of the MILW SD40-2's and other stuff soon. :)
I'm the same as a few of the others with ordering Rio Grande.... 2 Gp40s and 2 SD45s on order....side note pretty sure DRGW ended up with a few ex conrail GP40s from 3131 to 3153
I'm glad your CNW units have the ATS shoe on the front axle.
I have D&RGW 3087 on pre-order. Looking forward to it.
They look really nice.

Can we please get some Western Maryland locomotives at some point?
YES PLEASE.
is pan am or guilford on the radar for a paint scheme in run 2?
Those GP40s are impressive but what would make my day is when you announce the SD70ACE
Don't know about the others but the WP one is missing the MU holders on the stanchions.
Are they going to do Rock Island in the wing paint scheme like the 350 351 ect.

Awesome bicentennial models!
Are you ever going to do a run with some more modern paint schemes? Maybe Norfolk Southern, CSX, Union Pacific, and maybe BNSF Bluebonnet.
Hello Drayton &it's is Randy and i like yours video is cool & Thanks Drayton & Friends Randy
Would very much like to see contemporary detailed N scale four axle/second generation EMDs!
各車の解説ありがたい~❤
Again another great release and yet again go to your website and everything is sold out so whats the point .
The GP40's are all still open for preorder, their order deadline has not passed as of yet. You can still add them to cart for purchase. -Logan
Awesome
Our CPR "GP40-2" 7003 is former DRGW and still clearly shows former DRGW trademark traits
Scale trains, you should make some Great Lakes central railroad locomotives
maybe if you had one coming out with ditch lights, an CSX ex-B&O would be appreciated
Is the NW/ NS Gp 40 on the menu for future runs???
will there be a "billboard scheme" MILW in a latter run?
Would you all ever consider offering the PRR cab signal box on the PC GP40/PRR SD45/PRR GP30 as a seperate detail item?
Anything in EMD e series engines

I love them
Is Scale Trains rusting the weels
