I fully admit the Bentley is amazing but I drove an S63 coupe for the first time and was blown away. I'm a valet at a nice restaurant that regularly has bentleys, rolls royces, and all the other luxury brands but the S63 coupe was one of the only cars ever that just left me stunned after driving it. Incredibly beautiful and smooth while retaining an element of subtleness. The dream GT for me!

I’d choose the S63 over basically anything because of the sound. The AMG 4.0 V8 has the best exhaust note on the market in my opinion

S63. Possibly the most beautiful car in the world to me. It’s more a luxury GT so cars like the AMG GT can carry the sports car mantle for the brand and I’m good with that. And the Conti costs more
The Bentley is more luxury than the Mercedes but they are both love cars aiming at a slightly different buyer.
S63 for me and it is the last coupe S Class, so gonna be a legendary car

Here in the USA our S63 Coupe is all-wheel drive - I wonder if that would have altered the results due to its superior acceleration and road-holding ability. Both vehicles are exceptional.
I’m a huge MB fan and that coupe is beautiful! But the Bentley is the way to go at this price point. It has that special something.

it has nothing, i have both and s-63 coupe is so much more fun and joy to ride vs bentley. bentley is made by idiots, who think that the look is everything. No its all about how u feel driving car.
Even 911 turbo s doesnt come closer to s-63 by far, i have 911 also, and so i have new g63))))))) So i know what i talk about, except u, tuberslosers....

As much as i love a Mercedes it would be the Bentley for me
The Bentley for me, it is absolutely gorgeous.
The Mercedes for me, every time. The Merc is more beautiful, doesn’t look as heavy and brooding like the Bentley, the cabin is luxurious but also completely functional as opposed to the Bentley’s which looks like an old English mansion’s study. The Mercedes also wins on the technology, the latest driver aid systems help you on long drives. This is a comparison of the two wheel drive Mercedes with the 4 wheel drive Bentley. I think the tactile feeling of the Mercedes in 4 wheel drive versions would have been a better comparison.
The AMG S65 does 0-60 in 4.2 seconds, not the S63, which does it in 3.5 seconds (the all-wheel drive model, which is not available in the UK)
While I adore the AMG, I think I'd have to try find the extra £17k for the Bentley instead, and convince myself I'll save it back from the 'slightly' lower depreciation of the Bentley over the Merc.
If you’re worried about a 17k premium, then you clearlyy shouldn’t be in the market for these cars in the first place

I have lusted after the Bentley Continental GT ever since it was introduced in 2017/2018. This comparison only reinforced my positive impressions of the car.
Love them both but the S 63 Coupe has always been my favorite

It's the benz for me. Less ostentatious, more dealership service available, and less expensive. Luxury with a low key wow, and more practical.
I’ve owned a bunch of Bentleys and just turned one in....cost of maintenance on a Bentley compared to a Mercedes Benz is one more consideration. Bentley charges a fortune for almost everything!
I have a S63 now and love it. New #G63 coming in Dec....so I love the AMGs! #amg #bentley

Simple old school review.. Right to the point and well presented. Reviews can be enjoyable without ridiculous camera shots or sideways hooliganism.
That S63 driving seat looks so comfortable....btw very sharp & to the point review ....also thanks for doing the comparison between S63 Vs continental ....I have always wanted to know which one is better.
Any video with a S63 coupe, is a good video and gets a like before viewing. Best car produced.

The Bentley interior is second to none. I couldn't think of a better place to sit for a long drive. The merc is nice but the Bentley is better.
Mercedes makes A classes and C classes (nothing wrong with that) but it dilutes the brand. The Bentley is exclusive so its the 1 for me
They sell a lot of C class cars but if they just put a few thousand extra into the build it would make all the difference.

Personally think a more comfortable ride is more important in a gt car than sporty driving dynamics. So for that the Mercedes seems better.
I wonder what Mercedes will do next when they update the car. The interior is mega but C classes, E classes are similar enough when they shouldn't be

The Benz without question !!
After driving an S class the seats weren’t very comfy so my money would be on Bentley. Plus the Bentley looks more modern now. The Merc looks a bit dated.
Hank The Tank same... I had driven a s63 coupe and it was nice but was stuck in Merc dealers for 6 months problems after problems
mohammad ali sadly that’s almost all modern Mercedes for you but especially the expensive ones. Over complicated.
@@mercmush My family owns a S500L bought in 2014, have been driving it since then. We have only gotten one malfunction in all these years, which was trunk latch failure. And myself now drives an 2019 AMG C63 Coupe. 5000+ miles in about 3 months, haven't had any issue at all.
Hank The Tank wtf? Sure you seat in a seat of a s-class? My uncle has a S500 and the seats are for me like Wellness seats. I drove many cars but the s-class is far the most comfortable. But that’s you’re opinion 👍🏻
Der Schutzsargent 5 Mercedes are very very low quality. Even Bmw and Audi have much better build

@@ajax5197 I don't think the kind of person valuing to buy a Bentley wastes time thinking about if a car (or a fancy extra) costs a bit more. Is probably more absorted chosing about which one of the 12 or so tones of white fits the best with the rim/leather/wood which wants for his unit.
It's tight but it'd be the S Coupe for me. That has to be one of the best looking cars designed in the previous decade.

Would loved to hear about the stereos in each. GT, long drives...the stereo matters. Maybe they didnt have the upper tier stereo in each car.
Bentley offers the Naim designed system that is reputed to offer the best fidelity of any production system ever placed in any car ever....period. Look up Conti GT reviews with the Naim system and you will here rave reviews. It is an expensive option of course. :)
I have a 2017 s63 coupe and it is equipped with the Burmester high end 3D surround sound system. I've never enjoyed a sound system like the one in my s63 before.
The rear drive S63 has ABC active hydraulic suspension

Good review, thank you. You discussed the 'sublimity' of the Merc and I really didn't think the Bentley would 'nose' the test. And if I were in the market - I'd have headed to Mercedes for a test drive! But I respect the way you 'discovered' another dimension to the test that was outside the scope of the GT focus. Well done!

I'm a Benz guy but I'm wondering Where's the DBS Superleggera I would take that over both of these.
The Superleggera utilizes Mercedes electronics that are two generations old. I get that it looks like what every 12 year old kid dreams of, but the S63 is a demonstrably more advanced car.
Bentley. It looks better to me, and it's a solid combo of luxury and athleticism.
V8 is all you need.

Whoa, you missed out the DB11 AMR, which would have made a superb triple test, and possibly won.
The "background music" can get a little too loud. Almost surpassing the vocal audio. Great video however.

If I win the big one tonight it'll be the Bentley for me but a Mercedes GLC63S for trips to IKEA.

Less showy exteriorly as a daily to park and leave.
S63 AMG is always better. Continental gt is also good. But not nearly as good as S63 AMG. I have driven both these cars. I felt that Continental gt has a stiff suspension which I didn't like. People say the throttle response is better with continental gt. But it has a slight body roll especially during cornering. S63 AMG glides over and we don't feel any discomfort. If comfort is your priority, go for s63 amg. Otherwise continental gt.

Dan Prosser, Mercedes offer the S63 with 4matic option in europe, that is not available in UK spec. I have owned a CL55 for 12 years and love it with a passion but the lack of four wheel drive has always been a drawback with the power at hand.
A more representative road test would be; S63 with 4matic vs Continental GT V8 especially on wet Welsh roads?
I think your 0-60 times are a bit off on the S63... multiple sources list it as 3.0 seconds. 4 seconds would be considered slow for this car!
Easy, Bentley is far and away the winner for me, now just need to fund the purchase how the hell am I going to do that.
Benz for me . Nothing beats a Benz in this luxury category .
Id take the Benz to be honest. Save the extra 100 grand. Ive had both in the last year and the Benz is hands down the better ride and comfort while the bentley is a hair more engaging. Overall if youre looking for a brusing cruiser, its the Benz. If youre looking for more sport than luxury, buy a porsche/ferrari/lambo. The Benz gives you exactly what youre asking for while the bentley seems like a wannabee sports car with luxury. It feels confused. The ride is jolting and creeky in the GT. The benz is complete serenity. I am not a Benz guy either. Its just based on experience. Bentley is 15% more fun and angaging and only 40% the ride quality (luxury). The Benz is 100% luxury/smooth/fast and 85% sporty. It will spank a car when you need it to in a straight line. Youre not buying a luxury grand tourer to race. Thats why the Benz wins.
Bentley, please. Magic car. Mercedes is certainly very good too, but is a common car on the road. You see one on every corner (brand wise speaking), but Bentley is a very classy rarity. When you see one on the road, that is a memorable event.

I would prefer s coupe since it’s my favorite car.
I like the minimalist light colored interior and well… it just looks better from the outside in my opinion.
In general, I like German cars the most. Subtle but classy. It doesn’t scream “look at me” but when you do… you will be pleasantly surprised.

While the S63 coupé is certainly a lovely looking motor, I really miss the old CL63's. They still look awesome and also look a lot more masculine if compared to the newer S Class coupé.
I had one for 4 years (pre facelift with the 6.2) - absolutely loved it though it did cost an arm and a leg to own. Running cost was as you might expect but depreciation was savage, and I didn't even buy new. Also not as quick as you might think.
@@fettlemaster - Sigh... Nice one. Speed wouldn't bother me in the old CL63. Just driving in one would be enough. And it's not as though it's a slouch anyway. :-))...
The CL is roundish all around, especially the rear. while the S63 is very boxy squared masculine in the rear. Even the exhaust tips are square.

i'd take the merc bc it just looks more liveable day to day. The Bentley is a beast for sure, but you would get too much attention for a daily, which can be annoying.
For me the Bentley more refine more luxurious and all wheel drive
You can't go wrong either way. Exceptional vehicles.
It's hard to enjoy car tests in the UK because it's always raining and it kind of puts the car without AWD at a disadvantage.

It sucks that he had to use the RWD version, because with the AWD version, the S63 would’ve won the driving feeling and feel more “connected.”
I’ll take one of each.
I HAVE OWNED BOTH a Conti W12 and the S63 in Cabrio form and I prefer the S63 as I feel that these are not sport cars per se but cruisers. I feel the Mercedes is more well rounded in that respect and more conformable that the Conti. And it has more “warmth” and feels less German than the Conti which is a perfectly executed car but feels more sterile .

For me, the Bentley is the best looking car overall in terms of style and build quality.. with a sporty edge to it. The Merc on the other hand has all the comfort, tech, and sportiness but it's just lacking soul to me. Like it doesn't know what it wants to be. LIike it's trying too hard idk. But I like it too. BUT.. You KNOW what a Bentley is when you see it, even if you're not into cars it just has an elegance and magic about it.. like it shouldn't exist but it does. And WHEN YOU SEE IT up close. Wow!

The Bentley is not a big car...it is the same size as the E class coupe. The S class coupe is a much bigger car.
Oh yeah you are right. I always thought the CL/S Class coupe were too big. Knowing the Bentley is smaller makes it that much more attractive.
@@Midg-td3ty it's not more or less attractive, it's just one of the facts. They probably did it so it can be more dynamic. I would go for the Bentley too, it's just more unique, and that interior is top notch. But I don't really like big coupes, I would probably spemt my money on something like AMG GTC cabrio...
@@Personal_Comp Its more attractive for me. I should have added. The E class coupe is the ideal size. If the Bentley has the same size its fantastic. Maybe I can get the convertible used down the line. For under 100k.
I disagree; for me the best GT is the S560 coupe. And if you want a more "sporty" car than the Bentley, why not choose a cheaper Panamera? The Bentley is a beautiful car though.

You forgot to detail that the AMG DOES come in 4Matic trim so all wheel drive is available in the Mercedes.
