    The original does NOT have a Snapdragon 7c. Powered by a Mediatek Helio P60T

      Yeah, this SD 7c is a big improvement over that mediatek processor. This will be interesting....

    • @erzascralet48
      @erzascralet48 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mini9503 Great points all around. The Snapdragon 7c gets 22-23k Octane 2.0, where the Celeron N4500 gets 24-26K. Still, so long as the battery life is great, the sum of it's parts makes this a win when compared to those devices. Also, when it comes to ANY processor and Android apps on ChromeOS... lmaoooo. Nothing works as it should, and Google's own Widevine DRM is shooting themselves in the foot where NOT A SINGLE CHROMEBOOK in existence can stream/download HD 1080p from a lot of popular apps when using the Android app from the Google Play Store.

    • @JulianAndresKlode

      @@erzascralet48 That's not true with the DRM. The Chromebook Duet is Widevine L1 certified and 1080p playback works just fine in Prime Video and Disney+. Netflix as usual is being assholes, though.

    Looks great. I had the 10.1in Duet and loved the form factor and included accessories. I gave it away to my niece who really took a liking to it,and I didn't mind gifting it as I found the Mediatek processor and 4gb ram a bit slow at times for my needs. Can't wait for some full reviews to release on this new one.
    edit: I will say the mediatek Helio P60t did give amazing batterylife though, like 10+ hours usually. That was awesome.

  • @thetylife

    I've had the original Duet for a couple of months . I got a great deal for it for $142 refurbed , and its like new. Although I haven't been using it much to say the least ...It's still on it's first charge and I think there's still 40% battery left...That also speaks to how great the battery life is...and it doesn't drain when it's shut off. And I picked up the Lenovo USI pen for under $30. I think it's a great machine ...regardless of the price I paid. $429 seems like a great price for the new one. I wonder how the oled screen affects the battery life though.

    • @fallenatreus
      @fallenatreus 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Battery life with OLED would be better since the black would be absolute black and pixels turning off to get those deep blacks. So I think the battery life might be the same if not better. We’ll see.

FOr ARM, decent step up, but the BIG upgrades to me are the OLED screen, the additional USB-C (on OPPOSITE SIDES.. THANK YOU!) and this platform being able to drive at least 1080p 60, where the OG Duet couldn't even handle that. If the 8GB model has at least 128GB with it and is $499 or less, I'm buying it!

      Not gonna happen because the chipset doesn't support it. Also, higher screen refresh rate will only kill more battery life.

    I'ld rather like to see a big update to Chrome OS, before I consider to buy any new Chrome OS devices...

    Ummm the original version has a mediatek soc in it not a snapdragon. This CPU should be much more powerful.

    At the time of this review $429 and now they are hiking the price up for no reason just because of reviews. Make sure you watch out for the price!! You had been able to purchase for approximately $370 and now that the model is even older they have raised the current price to $500 dollars! Don't support price gauging like this

    I find it a pity that the internal hard disk is still an eMMC type and not an M.2 SSD type. Also, OLED screen may sounds great but I won't be convinced about its long battery life claim. Oh, another thing: Is it just me or there is no 3.5mm headphone jack? I'm sorry, but that is a completely rubbish idea. No way in h*ll I'm going back wireless for audio.

    I totally agree The small size was the whole appeal.. too bad the successors are so big! I have a pixelbook go! Horrible chromebook, cant pair a common moga! plus the M3 intel absolutely horrid! and you cant even take it apart to travel. wont stow under seat airplane either, too big!

    had the duet, returned it because it was laggy and such, now if they kept a smaller screen, id have paid 500 for a small screen oled chromebook, but no, they have to increase the size so its less portable. preordered the new ipad mini, small, beautiful, and fast. wish it was a chromebook that side and processing power.
