There are so many good books that deserve adaptations, especially queer romances. “Boyfriend Material” was meant to be amazing. For me, “The Charioteer” by Mary Renault needs an adaptation, tv or film. It is a beautiful book about same-sex love (I would also take an adaptation of “The Persian Boy “by the same author, about the last years of Alexander the Great as told by his most devoted lover, Bagoas). FR Lukens’ “In Deeper Waters” would be awesome as a tv show, and “Be Dazzled” by Ryan La Sala. I think these all deserve adaptations. But for me, queer fantasy, queer sci-fi, and queer historical should be given a good shot.

This was great. I always end up disappointed in romcom adaptations because the writers decide it makes total sense to throw out the solid gold banter that made the books so good and replace it with the tritest of jokes, but I would still eagerly watch the matchups you proposed with some vague hope they give us what we deserve.
