I just stumbled upon this channel and I am loving how many books she's recommending in the adult category that I've never heard of. Also had mixed feelings about the beginning of Black Sun, but the ENDING! Very hyped to read some of these next year!

Firekeeper's Daughter is probably my favorite read of this year. This book has stayed with me since I read it and I can't wait to reread it

Firekeeper's Daughter is definitely one of my favorites for 2021. I haven't read a lot of fantasy lately, so thanks for introducing me to some of your favorites in that genre.

I've read some of these and had similar reactions. Based on what you've said, I'll be adding to my TBR Tower. I love how attached you can get to characters/stories. Such intense emotions!
folding laundry and bingeing your videos. another youtuber mentioned sword of kaigen too and your commentary on it had me LOLing and got me so hyped to read it. i honestly thought the video had gone to an ad but then i looked back at my screen and it was just the sad music you chose LOL. i love martial arts anime and martial arts in general, so i have high hopes for the fight scenes now.
Basically all of these have been on my TBR and now you've made me realize I need to get to them in 2022. I lent my copy of Black Sun to my best friend and she keeps telling me it's really good. So excited to pick it up!

I LOVED A Dowry of Blood and I haven't heard very many people talk about it. It was one of my favorite books of 2021 as well.
I knew Amari and something from the Green Bone Saga would be in here. (Jade Legacy will not let you down! 💚 I have not been able to stop thinking about the character development, the relationships, the action scenes, the surprises. So well done. I am in awe, Fonda.)
Definitely putting Razorblade Tears, Dowry of Blood, and The Sword of Kaigen on my list.

I love how you express your love for the characters of each book. My daughter and I loved Amari. The poppy Wars Series is one of my daughters favorite also. The Dragon Republic had my emotions all over the place! I" m about to start the Burning God and I'm ready! I had the same feelings about Jade city reminding me of the Sopranoes which I loved. You have convinced me to read The Sword of Kaigen, lets see if I cry.

I am with you on putting a book down because I am sure something bad is about to happen to a character. Like nope can't let anything else happen to this character...lol. I read both the Poppy War and Dragon Republic this year, but haven't been able to bring myself to read Burning God. Those are some intense books and I just not sure I am ready for one more, but really well done.

Love love the Poppy War Series! ALL 3 of them and I have you to thank to recommend this early on this year!!! 5 stars for Books 1 and 3 for me 4.5 for Book 2 but I can see where it was going for you for Book 2.

Dowry of Blood - I am hesitant but will give it a go soon...by 2022.

I have Black Sun on my TBR 🤩 Sword of Kaigen is a difficult one for me. Everything from page 150 is amazing and has one of the best moments I"ve ever read. But those first 100-150 pages were rough. I almost DNF'd because of the infodumping upon infodumping. I am SO glad I continued reading because damnnn everything that happened afterwards was amazing, but because of that difficult start I can't give it 5 stars.
Firekeeper's Daughter is my number one favorite read of the year 🙌 it just had everything i want in a book ✨

I have yet to read the Firekeeper's Daughter but I do have it downloaded to my Kindle already. I really LOVED This Poison Heart by Kalynn Bayron. Can't wait for its sequel

I cannot wait for you to read Jade Legacy!!! It wasn't my favorite among the three, I will say that, but it hit me HARD. I mean, the whole series is one big emotional gut punch lol.
My favorites of the year were (in no particular order): The Green Bone Saga (!!!!); The Priory of the Orange Tree; Act Your Age, Eve Brown; One Last Stop; The Bone Maker; Iron Widow; Masters of Death; The Sword of Kaigen. There might be more, but these are the ones that really stuck out to me and made me FEEL THINGS (which was sorely needed this year...).
Side note: but I got The Burning God for Christmas and I'm so scared to read it... It's like Jade Legacy all over again (except I've heard more bad things are The Burning God). The Dragon Republic really was good, though, ngl.

Jade Legacy is an absolutely perfect conclusion and cements the Green Bone Saga as one of the best trilogies I’ve ever read.
I don’t read mystery/thrillers usually either but I’m really curious about Razorblade Tears.
Firekeeper's Daughter is so beautiful and I was so upset I had to leave that world! I definitely would love more books set in that community, but I just want more from that author!!
Also Amari was a superb book! 100/5 star rating.
