I just got a job with a pretty big logistics company just call center work ya know, I'm half way through a business degree & dropped out of college so many times. I'm in my 20's and have been so overwhelmed with choice. This video really inspired me. This job fell into my lap and it looks like it is my new career!!!!!!!!!
Can you work on your bachelors degree at the same time
Cap Cap it’s always up to you on how much work you can handle. I’ve been in college full time & worked a full 40 hours before. Those early schedules from 5am-1 or 6-2pm allow you the ability to go to class still. You’ll be tired but time really flys
Would would you recommend in the logistics field right out of high school?
@@nehemiahlaniyonu2572 in my opinion, you should probably get at least your associates degree first. But if you’ve determined college isn’t for you, getting experience right out of high school is also great.
Congrats. I graduated in 2012 .. started in shipping/receiving ... then material analysis... then materials manager..... now Director of supply chain for a large automotive manufacturing company. It is a very rewarding field.. within 9 years I went from making 35K a year to 130K+ in the midwest .. It is a very rewarding career.. Now if you want advancements .. I suggest looking into APICS CSCP .. Look for Apics online and the certifications they offer.. I am finishing up my MBA program online.

I definitely appreciate how SCM aligns with other disciplines (e.g. Finance).
I am majoring in business with double specialization/major in banking and finance... currently thinking to add a bi-major in supply chain, do you think it's a good combo?

Also, I'd recommend getting a job in a warehouse (part-time or full-time). It will be a good experience for you to get some kind of warehouse experience.
Then you can add some kind of related experience to your resume.

Went back to college for psychology and neuroscience and just ended up switching to business and philosophy ( supply chain). hahahah :D
Drop the philosophy and concentrate in supply chain management if that's what you want to get into. There are plenty of free resources to learn philosophy on your own. Don't waste money on a subject's that's not gonna have a monetary return.

Almost anything in a business course will get you entry level jobs, provided you can spice up your resume, i.e. internships and entrepreneurial endeavors where you can provide proof of accomplishments and initiative. Employers want people that know what they are doing and people that can put more money in their pockets. If you want to go the international Business route, pick up a second language like Chinese or Spanish. Learn how global enterprises work. Learn supply chain, get internships overseas and make connections. Don't wait to graduate college to try and get that pesky experience that employers drool over. Get experience now.

You need to get a degree in marketing. Im pretty sure you can specialize in supply chain during or after your sophomore year
@@skyemartin5295 Wrong, Marketing is related to a company's brand. If you want to work in a supply chain, Logistics is the best major to go for.
