I graduated with a BBA in Management with a second major in Global Supply Chain Management and I can say that Supply chain is definitely a more technical degree. It’s actually harder than a management degree too. It is considered a business degree but I would consider it as STEM degree too due to learning six sigma, Kaizen, material management and ERP systems. It’s a great degree. I already got accepted to the masters program specializing in supply chain management. For everyone who has cold feet, supply chain management is an important and beneficial degree that can provide job opportunities in the manufacturing industry. I personally love it.

I'm surprised that people's opinion on the meaning of Supply Chain Management is on the lower side. I'm an outsider looking to get into the field, and one of the reasons I'm interested is seeing how vital people that organize supply chains are for society to function properly. From coordinating how food gets to stores or more luxurious items like how smartphones need raw materials to be turned into things like batteries and chips to be assembled to be distributed, it always seemed like quite a vital job for a happy, functioning society. One that isn't thought of a lot, but vital nonetheless.
Things need to get places, and we need people to figure out how, efficiently.

Hi guys, depending on where you’re at, what company and industry you are in and your level of skill and experience, the pay can vary as well. Also, a degree in SCM is not enough, if you truly want to make it in the SCM industry and be competitive and relevant, ESPECIALLY, if you lack the experience, I suggest you get certifications as well such as from ASCM or ISM. I graduated in 2018 with a Business SCM degree and had 8 years experience from the military working in logistics. I landed a job as an Operations Manager for GEODIS with a starting salary of $80,000 plus bonuses in Southern California. I’m a Senior Ops Manager now for the same company. There are many areas in the supply chain industry that you can do, hopefully you find what you’re good at if you’re just starting out.
