Great video, just saw your video, I also installed a outside cold water tap last summer with the same pipe. This was before I've seen your video I also put the copper pipe through a white PVC conduit I had as I just did not like the fact the copper pipe having no insulation within the cavity wall. However my PVC pipe was 22mm and the copper being 15mm, I don't know if what I did was wrong but I also put a load of duck tape around the copper pipe to make a tight insulated fit with the PVC conduit. Thankfully the pipe I bought of eBay came with a isolation value and a non return built into it. Did not know at the time but now that I've seen your video happy that the product complies with regs.
I replaced my old screw style tap with a Peglar pb50 lever type. A bit pricey but good for anyone with arthritic hands. Call me sad but the joy of using a lever type with 1/4 turn on or off vs regular screw type is next level.

A double check valve in outside taps are totally redundant as they never last a winter with frost destroying them, just buy them without and put a separate check valve inside.

A bit long winded & the over use of finger pointing 👉 . Shame your soldered joints weren't clean & appears you missed using a heat mat under the sink with the scorch marks clearly visible. Instead of fitting 2 OST you can fit a mixing valve, so in the winter & if you have a dog you can have warm water to wash its paws ! The use of a bender might of helped ! If you drilled through the wall straight through the back of the unit with a 10mm pilot you could of then drilled a nice hole spot on centre & then finished it off afterwards with a plastic pipe cover rosette. Maybe brush up on the soldering techniques & use less flux as that way you don't get solder runs all over the pipes & fittings !! I tend to use the peglars 1/4 turn lever OST only a tenner , easier to use especially for the less able who can't grip a standard tap. I finish off by using stainless screws for longevity . Overall a reasonable & functional video. Maybe save all the technical to the end as otherwise people turn off before the video has chance to start. Customers only need to know you've installed it with proper compliance so they have peace of mind.
🤣🤣🤣 love the way we are all excepts when watching videos. I used a heat Matt for all the joints I soldered so any scorch marks are not mine most of the joints you see in the video are not mine and the reason why I didn’t just drill through from outside is because I knew wires were behind the unit. If the 2 pipes are 15cm apart, then a shower valve will fit perfectly, you just need an adaptor male to male to screw in the female. So I could wash a dog without either freeze or burn him/her. In America they sell garden taps that when you close it outside it actually shuts the water off inside the property. It is called antifrost
I have installed showers outside but installed them in an insulated box with a lock on it. I wouldn’t just install it outside
A double check valve in outside taps are totally redundant as they never last a winter with frost destroying them, just buy them without and put a separate check valve inside.
Never heard of installing a hot tap outside. What would you use that for?
Maybe washing a muddy dog off outside and not having to traipse in and out of the house to get hot water? Or easier to fill up a bucket from hot for washing car? He did say his parents were old.

👍👍
I always unsweat the copper out of those back plates
Why?
@@Peckeronthebeach Err because they are too short lol and so there's no joint behind units
@@paulhughes8724 good thinking 🙌🏻🙌🏻
@@Peckeronthebeach 😆 👍
I just buy longer ones, for an extra quid or 2, save 10-15 mins of messing around
That job is so perfect it's a £200+ job, but nobody wants to pay that.
Could you not use plumbers mate?
Plumbers mate melts with the heat from the sun so I don’t use it as a sealant
You forget to fit a basin under the hot and cold external taps. 😳
Tried tena pants 😂😂 they give me good back flow protection and fresh smelling boxers all day 😅😅😅
Nice vlog, I do hope you only charged mates rates. 😂👍🇬🇧
Nope full price 😜
@@tomkatgastraining 😂😂😂 have a great new year.
Weekend out of hours rates? 😁
@@themadhatter4761 and you
Why. Put a hot tap outside?
Because my mum said so and you always do what your mum says
He really said 10 - 14 wraps lol
Hello and welcome, it gives me great pleasure to sit on bath taps

You could have bought longer back plate tails and not used fitting s in the wall
Thanks for your long winded comment and maybe watch all the video before making comments on videos 😜

You putting a bath outside
Kind of mum needs it to wash the dog 😜
Weren't you going to quit youtube a few months ago, or was that just a clickbait video 🤔
Because of the support I received I carried on but reduced my input but guess you are not a regular visitor so I will let you comment go 😜
@@tomkatgastraining I’m glad you ain’t left you are literally the main reason I passed my gas last year your vids saved my life
A lot of work for a simple job far to much guff
Not impressed by the pipe routing in the cupboard!
You can impress some of the people some of the time but you can’t impress all the the people all of the time
I don't know why but it sounds like your been sarcastic all the way through the video
Helpful and unformative,
Would have been cheaper buy the taps rather than kits as that is all you used
