    ⛔️⚠️READ FIRST BEFORE COMMENTING: Link? As of 2025, please see the description or expand this pinned comment. Android? If you have Android, please do not watch this video. I can’t help you. I don’t even know how you ended up here :( Wall Charger or Power Bank? Hmm..did you fast forward the video? Watch the video again and LISTEN/follow my instruction. Keep in mind this video was made in 2020, so what might work or might not work then may or may not work whatever year you’re watching this, so take this tutorial with a grain of salt. Also, I keep seeing “but what if i wanna use my headphones. can i still listen?” Don’t you have a Blue Yeti? It has a headphone jack so you can plug it in there. Does XYZ app work? Hmm, I don’t know. Go try it out and let us know! Maybe make a tutorial too! If you have other questions I didn’t cover in my video, leave a comment below and I’ll try my best to answer. If I don't respond to you, that means the question has already been asked and answered either in the video or in the comments by me or other youtubers (you can just scroll down to see similar questions you may have). For iPad users with USB C (not the iPad Pro kind), yours is straightforward, and all you’ll need is a USB C hub like this (affiliate link): amzn.to/3SHQNw0
    Get your items here (Let me know if some of the links don't work anymore):
    ► Lightning to USB-3 Camera Adapter - amzn.to/3Ca3BI4

    ► Optional USB-C iPhone/iPad Charger: amzn.to/4hh9KRI

      How about the battery life of the phone? Will it drain fast because I'm using the mic and charging the phone at the same time.

    • @LloydSim
      @LloydSim  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Geo_Florentino Yes and no. Most 2018 or newer flagship smartphones like iPhone and latest iOS can handle kiosk mode / constantly being charged batteries much better than the older ones. Hence why a lot of store use the most recent iPads for their POS or select retail stores using slightly newer iphones for express check out. Here's a good short read by Apple: support.apple.com/en-us/HT208710

      Any issues with the power supply over heating the phone while recording? For example, I’m gonna be using the Mophie Powerstation while capturing video. I’ll be recording over a 1.5 hours.

    • @LloydSim
      @LloydSim  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@m.douglas5406 I haven't personally tried recording longer than 35 minutes, so I've not encountered the power supply overheating the phone. However, I do plug it in to a charger that only outputs 12W or less, so my hunch is slow-charging may be preventing it from overheating the phone. I usually just plug it in to fast chargers (e.g. magsafe or the 18W adapter) when I'm on the go since the more juice you throw at a battery, the faster it charges, but the more heat it generates.

You don't come off too technical but down to earth and showed everything. I like the fact you have made mistakes in the past and we are learning from your errors! Thank you. • @LloydSim
      @LloydSim  ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad it works still. And I don’t think it’s possible to turn off live mic monitoring for phone/ipad just through the mic only since the blue yeti is built with mic monitoring in real time. the only way to have it really off is via software setting (specifically if connected to WindowsOS and MacOS) but that defeats the purpose of connecting to iphone/ipad though 😂

    • @LloydSim
      @LloydSim  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tnx for watching and great question. Unfortunately, this mic will still pick up background noise even when the 'gain' feature is set to the lowest setting and you're using cardiod. My recommendation is to sound proof your surrounding (e.g. using sound proofing acoustic foam or blankets if you're on a budget) Other than that, you will will need to clean up the background noise by editing it using your preferred video/audio editing tool. Usually for me, I just use the noise gate and EQ feature in Vegas Pro (for making my videos) and Garage Band when making music.

    Other videos say all you need is the lightning to usb adapter (the skinny one), plug it in to the iPhone and the yeti and off you go. Except that my iPhone gives me the error message that the yeti consumes to much power and then disconnects the yeti. This video makes it clear that you need the power adapter so you can get power to the iPhone and yeti and that the skinny adapter alone won't get the job done.
    Thank you for making that clear.

    Hi! Great video! Unfortunately, my ipad has a USB C and not a lightning. What do I need then to hook up the Yeti and the iPad, providing power to both devices while I am livestreaming? Thanks so much! You have a new subscriber 😍

      Hi! Tnx for watching and the sub. You will need a USB C adapter/hub WITH charging capabilities kind of like this: amzn.to/3cmoK23
      However, keep in mind that it's third party, so it may or may not work in some occassions especially if there are updates from Apple.
      Personally, I'd go with Apple OEM to safeguard yourself from future updates/supports that apple might do as sometimes it takes a while to update on 3rd party accessories especially if they're not apple certified. Here's the apple version. It's pricier but you'll have a better peace of mind: amzn.to/2OYFkw3
      After that, you'll of course need the USB C cable that came with your iPad (or purchase a new one) and also the USB C charging adapter that came with your iPad (if it did come with it). From there, you're good to go and the same procedure as with my video should do the trick.

    Easy to follow tutorial, thank you. Do you know if this will still work with an iphone xs and Hyper X Quadcast S microphone?
