Excellent Ricky Jay is a legend This was a treat I especially enjoyed the end bit where he tells the story of Itto Ogami. I hadn't heard that one before.
I believe that this was from a BBC documentary about Ricky Jay and his life. The segment where he tries to stiff the film crew with Harry Lorraine's old ten card poker scam is wonderful.
You guys are great. I love spending time with you via the sessions you let us peak in on. Every art has a few living virtuosos. During his lifetime, Ricky Jay was that for conjuring.
There's a way of doing The Guarantee that's so easy a beginner could do it. There's one fraught moment that requires misdirection, but otherwise it's all performance. Same with the Japanese one, though I'm sure that's not a big revelation.
It's less of a boys club than it used to be. One thing that CC Club does right is that we have a diverse group of men and women. We used to have a female on the panel. You looking to volunteer?
@@ConjurorCommunity Thank you for getting back to me. I think it would be awesome to be a part of this panel, but I don't really have the expertise to contribute. (Sadly) My knowledge is limited to TH-cam videos on the subject. The only book I own is on mentalism. ~Prism~ by Max Maven (whom I adored). I got it after his passing in memory of him. 🌈🖤🌈 I enjoyed reading it because some of the techniques seemed similar to those required to be a spy 🙆😆 I've seen a couple Daniel Madison videos on sleight of hand. Have yet to practice enough to really master anything myself. 🃏🎲 I've spoken briefly with some magicians online. I don't know if you know who Michael Weber is but he used to perform sometimes with Maven way back in the day. Seems to run in many magic circles. 🌟 I've spoken to him quite a bit over the internet but not as much as I'd like to and he never reveals his secrets (of course 😏) In closing, it would be an honor to participate, but I'm more of a spectator/'groupie' LOL... Magicians have groupies, right? ('Magical groupies' 😅🤣) I don't know what else it would be called... I'm thankful even for the thought 🙆 ...The suggestion Possible or not 🌠🦋🌠 ✨ It was very kind of you ✨ ...maybe one day I'll be able to contribute more to the discussion... To possibly volunteer if the offer remains open or if you decide having a spectator/groupies point of view may be fun? 😁😅 🤹🎪🎡🤸
Excellent

If I had to pick one magician over everyone, it would be Ricky Jay.

The last two segments were from a UK Channel 4 programme called The Secret Cabaret. Ricky had one bit in it each week.
thats right, this was probably a rehearsal, since the actual clip in the show had dialog.
That was great
Good God, no matter his age, Ricky Jay is a master.
Nice to see Aaron.
PS - It's JJ Johnston, not Abrams
I love this video! And Willie was a good friend of mine. Such a good soul & a very funny man.
Yes believe the BBC shout is a good one, must of seen this some 20 years ago.

I’m exited
An old Martin Nash routine. "Beat the Cheat Poker"
❤
I know this is kind of a 'guys club' for the most part, but I wonder... Do you ever have women who are magicians as part of the commentary?

The reactions around Ricky’s table are so genuine…NOT!
Still parasiting off other people’s content I see.
Parachuting?
@@ConjurorCommunity being a parasite. Stealing other people’s content. Craig Petty does it all the time too.
