The most unrealistic thing about this is the fact that there isn’t a hundred people filming
I bet some runners be like, wth are they doing?
I was thinking the same way to
People who run in marathons don’t have any interest in stickybeaking into the medical tent.
They’re focused on running… most marathons come with prizes!
Why would you want to miss out on a prize so you can gawk at the medics?
Lol😂

Much rather that, than when people gather around someone dying "death circle" See it on Bondi beach eps, so disrespectful

That guy: Dying
The people in the background: whoOOOOOoooOOoOo
Imagine your life being so devoid of any excitement that watching people run is invigorating?
Makes you realise how much of a luxury it is to have clamps and chest drains and the like so easily to hand. He was lucky to have medical help that had the ingenuity to improvise.

Even though it's a 10 min clip. I teared up when Halstead was about to cry.

Noah really stepped up this episode, the start of some good character development for him
Love how there was a literal man _dying_ and all these people are cheering and laughing in the background completely unaware that there're doctors al around him and one with his arm inside him😂
One of the reasons I love Connor is that he didn't blame Will for this as many other doctors would, because Will had no choice and Connor knows that.
I’m all with Noah on this one he should’ve done what he had did even if he had gotten fired I would’ve done the same to anything to save someone’s life
Well given that his sister (sorry not familiar enough with series to remember names yet) has more experience than a new doctor she should be the one to do it. Of course nurses on shows are always shown as knowing less than what that they are actually capable of in real life.
@@kelseyswanepoel7056 I don't think nurses are allowed to do things like chest tubes. even though they know how to do it they aren't allowed bc a nurse is considered an assistant to a doctor, and can only do what a doctor says
@@jupitersnoot4915 a nurse is not an assistant to a doctor thats a physicians assistant
When Maggie did the test tube Noah reported her I’m pretty sure
Ah yes that's what you want. For your doctor to watch TH-cam of an operational procedure and say "I can do that".
Speaking as a medical professional, I’d rather someone do that then risk death. Yes it’s risky but if it were me dying I’d tell doctors to do whatever it takes to save me
I watched a TH-cam video and managed to remove my own ingrown tonail. Do not recommend. Podiatrist was impressed tho.
@@Highkey-Loki Well most definitely not recommended. The difference with this situation is there was time to mend yours, here it was full-on crisis.
@@Jejking Oh without a doubt, the situations are entirely different. In my case, I follow ToeBro and saw how he does it. Then a few weeks later, during a dissociated episode, which I have frequently due to mental illness, I basically was out of body and watching myself remove the nail without being able to stop myself. That's not at all what's happening here of course. Just a tidbit of my life!
It's completely okay for doctors to watch procedures and do it thery aren't robots to remeber what to everywhere
“Neither of us are allowed to do that.” That guy: “Yeah I mean I’d rather you take a shot at it then follow the rules but okay I understand.”
this is the first clip where I'm seeing Dr. Halstead get emotional like this

so grusome but yet my eyes are glued onto the screen
When they started to pull his ribs apart I almost screamed
Will oh my god 😭😭 he cares so much and so deeply. I love his character
I can't believe no one's watching them. I mean, it sucks when people just stand there and stare but...
They are just standing there watching the marathon like nothing happens while this guy legit has a chest operation right then and there?!
I think they'd rather they be distracted than get in paramedics way. All in all it seems better
Why is everyone acting like this is real, grow up ffs it’s a movie
@@noahford9320 because people discuss TV shows and movies and like to share their opinions and questions in the comments instead of being condescending, pretentious cunts
@@noahford9320 thats just not how people act
what's watching going to accomplish? if you can't help dont get involved. simple
so do u expect a car mechanic or runner with no medical experience to attempt an operation and assist?
if there's a hostage situation and you are a post man walking by are you going to go in and try to negotiate?
what if you're a hair dresser and a car needs engine work, you going to go into a workshop and get to work on the engine?
I really love Will. HIs character is truly amazing.
why is dr. halstead so emotional this episode? is there a backstory i'm missing?
i think he lost a patient before by trying to improvise a treatment, hence why he was so reluctant to attempt anything risky here
man poor will
Yep but still he's a doctor he have to take risk sometimes so its a little unprofessional to me to be scared of saving a life if you know what I mean
@@K-K-Kat probably because he had to deal with this situation before. I remember one episode were a guy came in and was in a very delicate state. The man’s wife asked Dr.Halstead to do everything he could to keep her husband alive because they had kids. Halstead really did everything he could, he kept doing chest compressions after twenty minutes, had an argument with another doctor but he did end up saving his life. Unfortunately, the man suffered brain damage and was going to be bedridden for the rest of his life and then the wife went against the doctor for saving her husband’s life because she couldn’t take care of him and their kids. It’s a tough spot.
Man that guy is such a fighter and the doctors done well to do everything they could to save him 🙏🥺❤️
bro its a tv show 💀
A few years ago, I was hit by a car. It was really scary. I had surgery on my right wrist. I have a scar on it.
Worked in the medical profession for 10 plus years. I can never imagine doctors allowing themselves to get that emotional in front of a patient. They would definitely have a good cry behind closed doors but honestly this kind of behaviour borders on the unprofessional.
Well it shows they are human
Everyone reacts different to things.
Borderline, he had a previous patient I think that ended up dying because he tried to improvise a treatment. And when basically the same thing happened here, I think he was just scared that he was going to loose this patient too.
Not only that, he literally left the room and went into the staff area to cry because he didn't want to cry in front of the patient. Maybe try to understand their point of view and history for the emotions shown'.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Everyone. Reacts. Different. To. Things.
Um he is behind closed doors though? He left and went into a completly different empty room.
Doctors are humans too, not emotionless robots or pod people. If my doctor wasn’t invested in saving me, I would want a new doctor.
That's what makes us human. I'd rather have a doctor with emotions then a robot. PS : I'm a doctor too !! And no I'm not unprofessional for having emotions.

No. I’m not sure what part of all units being tied up you missed. If all your units are busy elsewhere, you can’t just conjure one out of thin air.
There’s a reason why police and firefighters will sometimes break protocol and transport patients

Hi how are you going keep it up
Im so excited for this to be on UK Netflix! 1st September 🎉🎉
WHAT OMG
WHAT NOW?
unpopular opinion: will and nina were so much better than will and nat. nina supports will, nat and will have a toxic relationship.
In the UK (specifically England and Wales) we have something called the SARHA Act (Social Action, Responsibility and Heroism). Basically, if your actions were the only thing that would've saved someone's life, you're protected from any claims of negligence (eg. breaking a rib while performing CPR).
I may be wrong, but I have a feeling if this happened here, April's brother and Will would've been protected.
But it doesn’t apply in cases of gross negligence or recklessness which this case probably was
@@callum4387 No it doesn't, but this wasn't negligent. An argument could be made for reckless, but not negligent - negligence, especially gross, would suggest they did all the wrong things/did nothing to help him survive, which couldn't be further from the truth.
isn’t the doctor who brought the bypass thing to them from chicago fire aswell?
Another day in the marathon 😂
