Today, I once again dove into some more forgotten online video games. These are games that either peaked on Twitch or Steam, but would quickly or inevitably die down.
These games include Splitgate, ToonTown, Payday 3 and Fall Guys. Most of these games are still available on Steam, Epic Games or through a quick search, so feel free to check them out if you are interested.
The funny thing is The Fall Guy is an adaptation, of an old tv show.

Payday 3’s fate has made me SO sad
The state of modern games in a nutshell
1 correction about Payday franchise, Starbreeze didn't acquire the rights to the franchise (well not in 2021). They basically were with Payday since the first one (Payday: The Heist) but then created/formed Starbreeze Studios in which they co-created Payday 2. The license info about acquiring in 2021 may be because then nearly went bankrupt after creating Payday 2 and after that the infamous Overkill's The Walking Dead. But honestly they should go bankrupt because now they destroyed the franchise making Payday 3 and then neglecting it's problems or solving it with overpriced DLC (which added basically nothing).
When I heard that, I had to do a double take and just asked myself "What did he just say?" No idea where he got that from, maybe ChatGPT, because that's just... Random. That's like saying Volition developed the latest Saint's Row after acquiring rights in 2020.
He’s right, kinda. Starbreeze bought the rights to the payday franchise in 2016 from 505 games, payday 2’s publisher. But the development of payday 3 didn’t actually begin until after OWTWD crashed and burned.
Kinda funny how 505 is still a pain in their ass with crime boss:rockay city being an actual threat.

Btw I haven't played any of these.
Disney were so half hearted with their attempts at game published despite so talented devs making some legitimately cool shit with their brand and IPs.
Those corporate fucks are anti-fun.

Payday 3 was bad,
but now with update 7, PD3 is back 💪🔥and people are starting to come back.
Still playing splitgate to this day every now and again. The gameplay is peak and the maps are great. Now not many people are playing but I play with bots and the bots are good. It may be dead but it's a comfy corpse.

honestly it was a real shame that payday 3 had the rough launch it had. the games rlly fun but it fell off HARD
i LOVE payday 2, but that absolutely fucking ruined it with epicgames servers, i cant even play the game anymore without a crash or being unable to load in cause i like using mods cause i have 400 hours in the game already, im not going back to the boring base game ive mastered, and they kept shitting out 30 dollar dlc every week when i already dumped like 200$ on my first purchase.

The thing is about Splitgate developer 1047 Games is they are currently working on new game set within Splitgate universe , so it not the end for Splitgate itself just getting a new game , as for Payday 3 I rather just stick with the Crime Boss Rockay City which much a better similar game and you can single-player campaign offline with even though this game didn't released on Steam at launch but it got so much better with post-launch updates and DLCs
Crime Boss is better than Payday 3 but that's only because it's so derivative of Payday 2.
Game itself is not good though. lmao
Kinda laughable in a lot of ways, just makes Payday 3 that much worse.
